I got into buying DVDs roughly a month ago and only now realized how great they are. I doomscrolled movies so hard on Netflix that I barely even watched anything. Buying movies actually has me watching them. Besides going through the trouble visiting an actual movie store to buy a movie feels like an adventure. I never realized that there are so many movie stores still left, I'm glad some people never gave up with the physical releases. I didn't even mention the DVD covers, menus, rare bonus features which streaming services do now give two shits about... World of DVDs is way too cool. I also just bought my first Blu-Ray too, I have no idea what to expect lol.

Well played! Love the production value of your video. I recently spoke on this as well -- in that, physical media is lossless and most (if not all) streaming services are compressing some (perhaps a lot?) of the content -- definitely on the audio side. And your point about "owning" your content? Straight cash, my guy. One other huge point you touched on --- is that the bonus content on most blu-ray's is HUGE! If you're into how the movie was made, you can't go wrong with blu-ray. Again - nice video Cal -- thanks man!

I personally started getting into Physical Media last year after going 6 years (really 2, since I bought a Super Bowl DVD of my team's championship) without buying shows and movies and I think it's worth the investment. I've gotten very iconic titles like Independence Day, Fast and Furious, LoTR, Matrix, etc for a $1 from my local library and I feel happy owning all these movies. I am planning to cut down on streaming services in the coming weeks since it really eats at my monthly budget.

Walmart is the only place for physical media. If they announce their stop selling movies. It's the end of an era.

I never have any issue getting up to put a disc in lol how lazy can we be. Physical media is still so worth it, hate to see it going away pretty rapidly of recent years, they're just not selling it in physical stores anymore.

great video! dont watch your channel as not a star wars fan (dont scream haha) but yeah physical media is so important especially now people are starting to see movies being removed from streaming services even if you paid for it! not to mention lower bitrates and not as good audio. sadly streaming as made hollywood lazy so they now dont release everything on blu ray and dont bother making special features.
