Beating Halo Combat Evolved How Bungie Intended
I remember a time before the internet, where you couldn’t easily go on UA-cam and lookup guides when you were stuck in a video game. At that point, you either needed a friend who knew what to do, or if you were lucky, your mom would buy you an official strategy guide to help you get through it. I wouldn’t consider myself a Halo Combat Evolved expert, but I’ve beaten it countless times, recently on LASO with Mista Vidz as well as a run through Ruby’s rebalanced mod. But this time, there’s a twist. I’m not relying on years of experience, community discoveries, speedrun tricks, or modern strats. Instead, I'm putting myself entirely in the hands of this used and abused relic from 2001. I’m going to try and play through Halo CE as if I had zero experience with the franchise, using only the information provided by this Bungie approved Prima's Official Strategy Guide in hopes that I can Beat Halo CE How Bungie intended it. Will this Guide turn me into a true Spartan? Or will I be stranded on Halo with nothing but outdated tactics? Only one way to find out…

I Never Tried STALKER So I Beat Them All (Before STALKER 2)
Переглядів 56 тис.28 днів тому
The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is one of the most intriguing places on Earth-a region devastated by a nuclear disaster, seemingly frozen in time, but where danger never sleeps. The STALKER franchise brings this eerie, post-apocalyptic world to life, blending open-world exploration with pseudo-survival horror. In the Zone, STALKERs, bandits, and survivors roam, scavenging for valuable artifacts hi...
Dead Space 2 is an Imperfect Sequel...and that's okay

What makes for a good sequel? Some might say that a sequel should build upon the foundation laid by the original, taking the concepts and mechanics that were well perceived and fleshing them out to make them better. Others may have loved the original so much that they’re really just looking for more of that very same thing. And some games are so perfect in their original form that a sequel can’...

Meme culture surrounding Half Life 3 has been around since I started using the internet. And to be honest, I never really got it. Tons of games have ended on cliffhangers that never got resolved, what makes Half life so special? Why is it funny that Valve can’t count to 3? It always felt like Half Life 3 actually being confirmed would break the internet, but I personally couldn’t have cared les...

Why GTA 4's DLC is Some of Rockstar's Best Work
Переглядів 2803 місяці тому
Rockstar is the best developer when it comes to single player, open world experiences. But admittedly, I haven’t played a lot of their games. Playing Grand Theft Auto IV for the first time earlier this year was one of my favorite gaming experiences. But I feel like I’m missing part of the experience by not having played The Lost and Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony. I was a little discouraged w...

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is already considered one of the Best RPGs ever made. But originally releasing in 2003, KOTOR could definitely use some touching up. This sentiment is echoed by the announcement of a KOTOR remake at the Playstation showcase in 2021. Unfortunately, the remake has had a tumultuous development cycle in the three years since, with the game changing hands multip...

I Never Tried Fallout 3's DLCs So I Beat Them All The release of Fallout 3 in 2008 was a defining moment for the franchise. how do you not die from the falls in the beginning?
Bungie protected me
I never knew a Pelican could fly into the truth and reconciliation. How do you trigger that? Played the campaign several times yet never knew
Bungie guided me
Halo 2 guide video got me hyped :D hope to see it.
If it's what the people want it'll happen
You should've played heroic...
HERETIC! The great journey demanded normal!
Try playing stalker G.A.M.M.A. its good.
Gamma and Anomaly are on my to do list
Oh this sounds like a good idea... "I put it on normal" and I'm out of here.
I do what the guide says
You definitely have it in the eyes.. sure you don’t have a “flock?”
in the description of heroic difficulty it says "somethimg something... this is the way halo is meant to be played"
😂 I guess you got me there
I made it 10 minutes into Stalker 2 before it scared the s*** out of me and beat me to death😅😅 they weren't playing around with the blackness of shadows and night time in general
Dude I might as well be playing with my eyes closed once it's nighttime lol a candle would be brighter than that damn flashlight
lol stalker 2 is fucking terrible 😂😂😂 it’s actually a joke. It’s sad tbh it takes two bullets to die but 50 for the enemy to die unless you land a headshot with their 7 days to die ass gun physics. Games terrible if they atleast made the gun physics fair or realistic, they made it realistic on your end but for them it’s like your playing Fortnite but on 1 health. And the fangirls will try to justify its extreme boring and unrealism by saying the “challenge” makes it fun, it’s not a challenge when it’s literally not possible, another dumbass thing is everyone drops like 5 bullets but has infinite ammo so you can’t get more ammo for the next people you’d have to land lost headshots just to get through it. Overall I’d say the game is a solid 3.5 out of 10 it’s okay has a lot of potential but wasted. The entire game is just terrible gun physics and invisible monsters ripped off form stranger things
I'm only 5 hours in and have definitely found it underwhelming so far. But I'm not ready to give up on it yet. Definitely seems like a game that needs months of updates before it's "playable", but I'm excited to see what modders do to it in the next year or so
I played all 3 games on their og realize a long way ago, and I can recommend only call of Prypjat as the most polished one. Never used mods
Call of Pripyat was by far the most polished. But I was able to get through them all without too many issues. Definitely want to check out mods after I finish with Stalker 2

I'm wondering what "Beating Halo CE How 343 Industries Intended" would look like
Anniversary graphics required
Another banger of an upload! I still got my copies of the official guides for Halo 3 and ODST, I remember using those to get the score achievements with the skulls. Also awesome to see my clips used lol
Thanks! Love that, might have to grab a copy of ODST and Reach official guides to complete the Bungie collection. And of course! Had to shout out our LASO run lol
Just waiting on Bungie confirmation that they approve
Gonna be waiting a while
Beating Halo CE the Bungie way. Should I finish the trilogy with the Bungie approval stamp?
Yup
you better be downloading STALKER 2 rn
Already preloaded, but I work until 5 pm est unfortunately :(
@@Rehabz4Quitterz so unlucky, my friends are already unresponsive, i'm still downloading
The reason your bullets do nothing is because you're playing on low difficulty. Weirdly making the difficulty higher will kill enemies as easy as they kill you
That is odd, but thank you for that info. I'll just need to play through again on Master difficulty ;)
Around 10:40 - as a Stalker veteran - I'm actually disappointed with how easy the swamp section is now. Half the time all points are captured by the time I leave the camp. And I loved the firefights in the swamp years back, I jsut can't actually get them, because friendly AI is too good
Well as a noob I struggled lol. The difficulty was that the AI was breaking though. I didn't feel like it was too difficult (didn't find it too easy either though)
Highly recommend giving a modded game a try. Arguably the best is GAMMA. It's a couple hundred mods together creating the ultimate STALKER experience. It has its own installer so it doesn't take a week to install the modpack and it works flawlessly. I have minimum 1k hours in it and I love it. Super detailed weapon modding, much better AI, tons of things to do honestly its a completely different experience. And it's super configurable, you can make it as hardcore as you want ( permadeath, you can only save by campfire, etc.. ) or bring the intensity down. You can adjust the loot, the damage, pretty much every aspect of the game ( if you want to ). It's one of the best single player games I have ever played. Also it perfectly highlights two things. 1. Not trying to start a war here but IMHO modding is the main reason PC gaming is vastly superior to consoles. Once you play GAMMA with the experience of playing the trilogy already behind you, I reckon you will be of the same opinion. 2. Games that are moddable live forever. Countless examples, pretty much every bugthesda game, Stellaris, ARMA series, Truck and Farming sims, Tycoon type games, etc... It also creates a two way appreciation between devs and players. Stalker is a great example of that. Great vid mate, the bit about the hotkeys cracked me up. :) Operator Drewski has a few vids on it if you would like to see what's its about.
I've seen some Operator Drewski videos, he makes great content! Thanks for the recommendation. I'm planning on jumping into Gamma and Anomaly after I'm done with Stalker 2
Good video, it was nice to remember vanilla games that i played decade ago :P
Thanks for checking out my channel :)
The intro has so many mistakes, stalker fans would come at you with torches and pitchforks
@@fallegapyro this video has been incredibly well received so far (which is surprising for my channel). But if you have any examples I’d be happy to hear you out
@Rehabz4Quitterz it has some mistakes but I was joking about the "gravity". Btw, thanks for your lovely reply. Well, the lore of S.T.A.L.K.E.R doesn't tie up directly with the CNPP incident we know IRL even though that one prepped for it. After the first incident (the irl one) some scientists found refuge there to work on top secret unethical project, that to them seemed the right thing to do. (I think you know by now that the game focus very much on the fact that there's no black and white, everything is in shades of gray). Those scientists created something they called C consciousness (C for Common, I think) which communicates with the noosphere (fun fact: that's an IRL proposition for a theory). Their goal was to eradicate everything bad from every single human's consciousness. Very expectedly, they messed up. They made a whole/break in that sphere which in turn created the zone, the anomalies and the artifacts. The storms you go through while playing are made by either the zone itself (emissions) or the scientists aka CCon (psy storms). The aims of these are different, that being emissions are just lethal and psy storms can make zombies (now you know where they come from) I think you know many things amongst what I have stated, I didn't watch 100% of the video, I skipped some parts. And I'd be happy to discuss the lore and theories if you want to know more. i have been addicted to the game for years now 🤣
stalker is not post-apocalyptic game Its our beloved zone
@@slawojka yeah I get that it’s not literally the post apocalypse. But for all intents and purposes, the area in the zone acts as if it is
Small correction, but the world in STALKER is _not_ post apocalyptic. The zone is just that, A zone, the area outside of it is completely normal. In fact super old supplementary materials on the extremely old website and game manuals implies that the world outside of the zone is not just normal but ironically way better then out current one. Artifact research has lead to amazing advancements in technology, and while its not exactly holograms and teleporters its mostly grounded stuff like medical technology and pharmaceuticals, they are way more advanced than our world. And an important flipside is that again, ironically weapons tech is _not_ super advance since trying to apply the artifacts to weapons and such is too unpredictable and as such the outside world is surprisingly peaceful.
I appreciate the added lore. GSC Gameworld definitely built an interesting world. I'll have to go down the rabbit hole one of these days
There is two more stalkers you can play. Stalker Anomaly which is a fan game that combines all of the games together and is the whole game free with a new story and its unofficial mod DLC Stalker Gamma. that's right a Mod... for a Mod. Anomaly is just a combined map with custom story, game fixes and a love letter to stalker while Gamma cranks the game up to realism on and graphical quality on part with Escape from Tarkov. both are beloved by the Stalker community.
@@Kolljak tons of people have suggested both, and I’m definitely going to try them both out. Most likely after I’m done with stalker 2. Thanks for sharing all the extra detail though! They both sound incredible
16:10 The first thing everybody should do, when playing a new game, is go through the settings and just read.
I looked but there were a laundry list of settings lol. I'll be sure to look when I jump into anamoly as well as stalker 2 :)
Try also the great story mods. The Zone is vast and full of wonders!
I didn't know there were story mods, that sounds awesome! Definitely want to check them out
@@Rehabz4Quitterz , yes, try out Incubator, Dreamcatcher, Spatial Anomaly, Wind Of Time, Path in the mist, Photograph and True Stalker.
@ thanks for all the suggestions, I’ll add them to my list of stalker mods to play!
This is what game journaist need to learn to do, instead of shitting on this game after they played it for the first time only for 20 minutes.
Reviews should have to be submitted with their playtime lol
Old Stalker is not exactly representing our national Ukrainian narrative, too many post soviet union moments. But now, with Stalker 2 you will get pure Ukrainian story, clear pov from our team.
That makes me excited to try and spot the differences. Can't wait to see what the team cooked up this week!
16:42 This is true because in CoP the shots go straight and don't just vanish from reality
@@GabrielFeaR so in CoP they go straight but in SoC they don’t?
@@Rehabz4Quitterz In SoC depends which weapon are you using and even with a high accuracy weapon the bullets can go way far from crosshair for some reason, like, in my experience, if you shot 10 times in SoC with a good weapon, 7-8 bullets will hit, in CoP even with a bad weapon 9-10 bullets will hit (in clear sky it's probably 3 bullets even with a upgraded weapon) In resume, I think that in CoP the accuracy is way more consistent, the shots really goes where you're aiming, making easier to kill anything
@ that’s good to know. It’s crazy how much I’ve learned about the games from the comments. Thanks for sharing!
@@Rehabz4Quitterz 🤝
I loved how id easily die. Now i literally know those games like my own backyard so that feeling of helplesness went out.
It's definitely a learning process but once you adapt it feels great!
Oh god, he plays with head bobbing on.
I didn't even know I could turn that off lol
@@Rehabz4Quitterz That's why you should go through the settings, for any game.
@@tshcktall to be fair, there was a laundry list of settings
Call of Chernobyl was my first experience. Amazing game. Its a mod that ties the first and third games.
I haven't heard much about Call of Chernobyl. Everyone mentions Gamma and Anomaly, but might have to check that one out!
So a better fallout
The gameplay is so different from fallout, the only comparable part is the setting imo lol. But I can see why people would say that
Overall great video, however skipping ravenholm was wild. I also feel that the atmosphere and sound design should be much more praised! Just listening to the ambiance in the game is chilling.
I think it's pretty clear that based on the comments, longtime fans of the series did NOT like what I had to say lol. I feel like I came out of it understanding why people love the series but not falling in love with it myself. Ravenholm was cool in atmosphere and how they set up the traps, but without any outside knowledge that this was THE level everyone talks about, I guess I didn't feel the need to have a dedicated section for it after going through 9 entire games lol. Part of me feels like I should've done more research, but I wanted to give my own opinions and no.t watch a bunch of content on it just to regurgitate what I heard. Better luck next time I guess
@Rehabz4Quitterz completely valid brother. Either way the video over all was solid 🤘
@ thanks I appreciate it. Thanks for checking out my content!
damn someones from DELCO lol good video
hahaha not quite but very close. Thanks for checking out my channel
The thing about STALKER, that you cannot have the same experience on the same difficulty for long, because you're getting better. There are no points to upgrade your character, it doesn't get experience, you do. The game is upgrading YOU.
I actually feel likeI didn't realize while making this video, but you're definitely right. By the time I got to CoP I was so much better at Stalker that it definitely contributed to me feeling like it was much easier. Looking back the my SoC gameplay, I'm wasting entire clips trying to kill one guy and then I'm struggling to find enough ammo to progress lol
@@Rehabz4Quitterz Exactly, so you know what to do with the new game, if it's too easy, just pop those difficulty settings 🤕
Great video, I checked out your other uploads and was surprised when I saw how few views some of them have. I really hope the algorithm gets your videos out there. You deserve it
Thank you! That genuinely means a lot. I feel like I'm improving at making engaging content that people want to see, so hopefully I can keep this momentum going. But if not, I still enjoy just talking about video games to anyone interested in listening
try stalker GAMMA, its a big mod that combines all stalker games
I heard anomaly is the same but less hardcore. I’ll probably try both at some point
you should give stalker anomaly a try. it has a story you can follow or you can just play it like an open ended sandbox. there's a warzone mode that is a better version of clear sky's faction warfare and take over mechanics.
I already downloaded it! Just waiting for a good time to dive in. Probably gonna have to wait until after stalker 2
Try portal
The notion that "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games have a lot of bugs" feels like some kind of conspiracy to me. I've played them extensively, and let me tell you, I've encountered far more bugs in The Witcher 3-probably 50 times more. Perhaps there's something different in the English versions of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, as it's mainly English-speaking reviewers who talk a lot about the bugs.
From what I could gather, the games were much more buggy at release and were patched later. I didn't have an incredibly buggy experience other than the AI in the swamp of Clear Sky
