Great information! Thank you. Are the notes that go along with this video available somewhere?
Where is the link to the capacity chart as stated in video? I requested it but only got 2 pages of something else.
Thanks for asking! The free download is a two-page summary of the content of this video. The capacity anchor chart is available in my TpT store for $1.75 and includes a full-page, half-page, and poster-size version in color and black-and-white at this link: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Capacity-Anchor-Chart-for-Interactive-Notebooks-and-Posters-2768661
Thank you so much for this information. It's time to move forward.
I’m so glad this was helpful! You definitely know when it’s time to change things up. Best of luck on your new adventure!
Are these resources available to purchase?
Great info! This was exactly what I needed. I’ve already started many of these tips, and the one that I plan to get started with next is shadowing a coach!
That's fantastic! I hope your shadowing experience is great, and best of luck on your future coaching job!
This has really helped me! I did not know I’d be coaching in my new position, as they got rid of the term COACH. I watched once, while doing my son’s hair, and I’m going to go back and watch and take notes. I also joined the FB group! Thank you!
That's awesome! I'm so glad to hear this helped you 💛
So helpful! Please keep these coming!
Thank you for video taping this! I am sorry I missed it and am so happy it was recorded.
Absolutely! I hope you get to watch and enjoy it!!!
Thanks for the tips! My interview is tomorrow and remembered I had a student teacher in my classroom 2 yrs ago.
Just interviewed yesterday and it went great! I had to try not to laugh when I was in the interview because they asked every question you said they would. I was very comfortable and prepared and I definitely would not have been without watching your video. Thank you!
Yay, Cyndi! That's awesome and it MADE MY DAY to know this video was so helpful to your preparation. Maybe they watched it to see what questions to ask 😂Best of luck!
I NEVER knew notes on a notecard were allowed in interviews. This is a game-changer.
Excellent Thank you!
So helpful!!!
Thank you, I know it's going to help! We had a difficult time last week...
I wish my 4th grade daughter was only starting with moving from larger units to smaller. :( I feel like that would have been so much easier! She just started conversions last week and has never struggled so badly with something. They are doing all conversions already, and within US Customary and also the Metric system. I’m struggling too and momma just feels like crying! 😢
Note cards! I swear Idk why I keep looking at it like cheating 🤦🏽♂️
I get it, but I assure you it's not :) It just makes you look prepared ... as long as you reference them and aren't reading straight from them. Ha!
I completely agree! This is my first year teaching and I know how important it is to be there for my teachers. I am kind of stressing myself out because I want to be the best coach possible and make sure all of their needs are met. I'm afraid I've already overpromised. Thankfully, the year hasn't officially started so I can make some clarifications. I appreciate your tips! They are so helpful. Some new, some great reminders!
I was so glad that the community wrote on paper. The computer typing would definitely been a little distracting.
Yes, that was truly a gift for you to not have all that extra typing!!!
I wished I had ran across this video before my interview today.
Aww, that is so kind of you to say! I hope your interview went well!
👍🏿. Helpful. Thinking of becoming a special education instructional coach
I'm so glad this was helpful for you, and best of luck on your future pursuits!
I had an iCoach interview today and watched this 2x before going in. It helped a lot thank you. One question that was asked a few times but in different forms was how to recognize a lesson that had rigor, how to support teachers to increase rigor, etc
I am thrilled to hear this content was helpful for you! It can be tricky to prepare for IC interviews, so I hope this provided some peace of mind going in. That's an interesting question about rigor and makes complete sense for them to ask. I wish you all the best in your pursuit of coaching!!! Thank you for the feedback!
Thank you💙
I love these easy to implement steps. I have written them down.
That is wonderful, Nikki! I like having little notes like that within view in my office so they can stay top-of-mind. That way when I am in the situation where I need to recall them, I am more likely to remember them.
I love this! I will be using this advice. As a teacher, I would respond to wanting coaching simply to be seen as a "high flying teacher." You are teaching me so much. Thank you for taking the time to invest in helping others.
Aww, thank you so much! I am fortunate that in my district I have access to great training and resources that not everyone else does. I am so glad to share it with others so we can grow together!
Thank you so much for this!🙏🏽💙
You're so welcome!
Wow so much info thanks
I am so glad this was helpful for you! Thank you for the comment!

You the best information for Instructional coach!!! Keep it up!! Gave me so much confidence for my interview!!
What are some ways to coach teachers in a grade you’ve never taught?
Great question, Vivian! I taught elementary school and now I coach high school teachers. One thing I often say is "good teaching is good teaching no matter the grade level or content area." A lot of coaching is about working with strategies, but I do think you need to familiarize yourself with the curriculum and standards for the lesson you are discussing to be really effective. Ask the teacher for help in that area since you are partners in your work together. If the teacher doesn't yet have that capacity, model how you would unpack the standards and develop a task.
Love the variety here! Expertise in content is priceless, but the practice and success of coaching is definitely all about the interactions with others; these books support successful interactions. Thank you!
Yes!!! Relationships are at the heart of coaching. I'm so glad you liked these titles!
Nice content! I'll definitely take time to grasp all your tips you've shared today as I really want to ace the coach position. I'll make sure that myself will be fully equiped before I hit the interview. Thank you!
That's awesome, Kelly! Best of luck with your interview!
I will be interviewing on Monday for a Secondary Instructional Coach position in the district where I teach. Nervous as heck but just listened to all our your videos twice as part of my day of studying.
That's great, Sandra! I'm so glad they are helping you prepare. Best of luck on your interview!!!
@@adoubledoseofdowda7612 Thought I should give you an update. I didn't advance to the second round however the assistant superintendent was kind enough to debrief with me about my interview.
@@smiling-sleuth Sorry to hear you didn't make it to the next round, but what a wonderful gift to get debriefed! One thing I was told and have hung into is: "Every interview makes you better." I know that's been true for me! And I didn't get my first attempt at a coaching position. When I look back, I'm so grateful. I hope your story is similar in time! And way to put yourself out there! It's not easy to do!
Very helpful!
Great! I'm glad to hear that this information is helpful!
Hi!! I legit just had an instructional coach interview and I mentioned backwards design and UDL!!! I really hope I got it.
That's great! Best of luck on the position!!!
Also, I am legit smiling because I did all of these things before you said all of the tips!! Maybe, it is a good sign.
@@adoubledoseofdowda7612 I will know on Friday! I will defiantly let you know.
@@kyled2409 what’s the verdict?
@@SophisticatedTeacher Did not get it. =( However, she did want me to teach summer school at her school. Maybe, that could lead to a coaching position?
Super helpful! Thanks for sharing. I had an aha: use the job description.
I'm so glad this was helpful for you! And yay for your aha! Best of luck with your future interviews!!!

Do you have actvities for 6-8th graders?
Hi, Candace! We currently have a limited number of resources for middle school, but my husband is returning to the classroom this year in a 7th grade math position, so I expect we will add products in that category soon :) For now, here is a link to our category on Teachers Pay Teachers for middle school and you can also check out the hidden pictures which are for all grade levels because you can edit the questions yourself.
