So this is basically a tubular cast on for 2x2 rib?
It's not exactly tubular since there aren't set up rows at the beginning where you are slipping stitches to form the tube, but it is an invisible cast on for 2x2 rib that allows the 2x2 rib pattern to extend down to the edge uninterrupted.
Thank you so much for this. I just finished a cowl with a 2x1 rib edging. I just made up something for an invisible bind off. Is there any chance you could do a video for an invisible bind off for k2p1 ribbing? Thanks!

How could one adjust this to work in the round?
If you are using this on a sweater worked in the round, I would work the second row of the CO flat, and then join to work in the round after you switch to the larger needle to start the rib. Then just use your tail to close any gap at the edge during finishing.

I’m a guild member. I sat through this video for 8:30 minutes only to NEVER hear the only reason I watched the video. I’ve been knitting for decades and I still choose NOT to use long tail because when I’m casting on over 100 stitches I run out of yarn or have twice as much yarn as I need just getting caught in all my stitches. How do you determine length for long tail cast on???????????

I am having a hard time following thus video because your knitting is so close to the top of the screen I can't see everything you are doing.

I would just sit down and knit with videos different needles different yarn simply to see what would happen
I am not an experienced knitter. A simple YO is something I found interesting. I ended up with a hole caused by an uncalled for YO when I started knitting. It was a good lesson because I thought about the cause of this hole for months 🤣😅😆
It's easy to do. Next time you find a mystery hole, see if an accidental yo was the cause. Thanks for your comment!
