San Diego and Orange County California is a dream for bike riders with thousands of miles of bike paths and unmatched scenery and weather. My goal is to explore it all. I'm excited to share these great rides.

😎
That round palm is something you would want in your yard .
Is that whining your tires or the motor ?
Not sure what you mean but I'm guessing the motor.
@@greatbikeridesofsocal271 i'am just very curious about your whole experience on these trails lol .
Always liked this trail .
Hello Bob.
Great ride !
That guy call you Boss ?
Yes, as a gentleman of girth I answer to "Boss" and also "Chief."
@@greatbikeridesofsocal271 lol i guess i'am a Boss too lol
Are you on the Mississippi ? lol
Do they allow boats in the bay? i don't see any.
Different areas of the bay has different activities. Sailing, para-sailing, jet ski, etc. Not sure if other boats are allowed into the bay or not. They do have a harbor.
No ding after the bridge going into your neighborhood ? lol
So you can't go on the elevated side walk anymore ? i know you have in the past.
I play it by ear. I probably only do it 2-3 times a year. If I see folks on the sidewalk I won't head up.
I'll bet you know this RT like the back of your hand lol . Always a nice ride.
Just by watching your rides i've grown to like Oceanside .
There's a lot to like. That said, this is San Diego, not Oceanside.
@@greatbikeridesofsocal271 i understand that.
I got to tell you that the infrastructure in SOCAL is amazing. love the bridges.
🇧🇷
Excellent ride !
That guy on his bike at the end of this video is most likely the reason their banning E Bikes on some trails.
How do I get details of ride
I remember you saying how your Mother in law was sick and your wife went to be with her. did things turn out alright or god fore bide no.
Her mom isn't sick, just 90.
😍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Cool, ain't it?
@ for a second o thought you were at the new 6st bridge in LA 😄👍 thanks for all the videos ✌️
Love that road .
Quite scenic.
Here in Connecticut we just had are first snow storm of the season with only 5" on the ground where i live in Rocky Hill. but this is the forecast for the next couple of days from the weather on Channel 3. In the wake of Winter Storm Albatross, the coldest air of the season arrives! The Arctic blast prompts *First Alert Weather Days* through Wednesday... while not extremely windy, a northwesterly breeze will initially create wind chill values below zero at times; and once it subsides, the air temps could drop to near zero, especially with snow cover! By the way great ride today . Thanks .
How far did old 395 extend?
Quite a ways. www.socalregion.com/highways/historic-us-395/
One of my brothers is a Carpenter, he can make anything out of wood lol.
I really like these Bob rides .
Thanks. Me too.
A E-BIKE for a child that age is just wrong, then when they get hurt its like , what happened ?
No good when idiots smoke weed when riding the bus. MP's get dispatched. The bus gets pulled over. Those cops get angered and outraged. I just cooperate and move on. I should have made a big old stink. Someone would gripe.😊😊😊
That raft is there for the Seals i'm guessing .
Now that's a Hotdog !
They do a decent Chicago style dog.
I like going on rides and getting some grub.
Me too (big surprise) 🙂
Im from CSULA, but CSUF has a way better campus! Graduating this year!
Nice.
I like orange county better than LA county
This proves that with an Ebike, you basically can go anywhere. Btw, the Amtrak looks so nice, yet so empty at the same time. Fun fact, the movie Fast X was shot here for couple of sec lolz
Interesting. Yes, the station building is mostly for waiting for busses. It will eventually be a stop for the bullet train.
Right where my bike got stolen. Anaheim train station.
There are always homeless there
Inside or outside?
@greatbikeridesofsocal271 Outside at the bike rack. I was only inside for an hour. Lock cut with cable cutters. PS the lockers are not available either.
@@robinrussell7965 That sucks. I try not to have the bike out of my sight and always lock it. All 4 bikes I've had stolen were from my garage.
I love Anaheim, I love the train station, but you have to keep your eye on your stuff there.
A+
consider from FULLERTON train station~ north on pomona or lemon > east on wilshire > north on acacia >east on dorothy > CSUF
Will do, thanks.
Nice video. What camera do you use?
Thanks. GoPro 10.
Interesting ride on the CSUF campus; they have some of the last remaining Orange Groves in Orange County!
Interesting. I did not know that.
Bougainvillea - pronounced bu gin villa, gin as in begin, a tropical plant. It makes good fencing indeed. The beauty and the beast plant.😄
Thanks!
you have a heck of a cough Ward .
Pushing the bike up that big hill and all the heavy breathing really stirred stuff up. I had been a bit congested, but it wasn't pretty, I agree. I quit smoking several years ago but still have a morning cough.
that would be a good ride even in a car.
Nice
Thanks, it's a nice ride, even with that hill!
always good to have friends , even if your far away.
Interesting ride, very peaceful countryside with the mountains in the background. I am very familiar with San Juan Capistrano and the creek, but I didn’t recognize anything, but it has been about 70 years ago when I graduated high school at old Capo High.
I'm sure it has changed a lot!
It does look cold, but not as cold as here . 27 and windy . protected trail? hmm must have had issues .
OMG the fires in LA . i know people there and their safe but their houses are gone !!
I was struck by how dry the area around the river trail was yesterday.
@@greatbikeridesofsocal271 i remember the river being low.
Great ride ! that bike looks heavy .
It is. With the second battery it is almost 100lbs.
This was different and fun !! i can't believe the river is that low .
Yup.
Besides Lake Henshaw and its dam way upstream, Lake Wholford has a pipe a few miles down stream from Lake Henshaw, taking water from the river. So, I'm guessing that's a big reason why it doesn't flow as much into the ocean.
It varies, which is why I sounded surprised. I've been able to walk across that area to get to the other beach, I've also seen it be 20'-30' wide with a lot of water. What I've always wondered is why about a mile inland it goes from being what I call an "aspirational river" to having a lot of water. I assume there must be something feeding water into it around there. The San Gabriel River is the same way. Miles of a tiny creek in a channel to a full-blown river about 2-3 miles from the coast. Thanks for the interesting reply.
@greatbikeridesofsocal271 I agree with how much it varies. On the eastside of the college bridge, it pools up and it died over the summer, but it's full now. So I'm thinking it could be run off from the storm drains. And I like the "aspirational river" name.
Thank you. Just what I need for my indoor bike ride in a few mins. The weather is terrible here in the U.K.
The next video is a beach ride which are always very cool.
SNL i think was first on in 1975 , i think . i was 22 and married . so your younger then i thought . which is good being retired. i remember you talking about health insurance and i wondered why you weren't on medicare .
