For as much as I detest many aspects of Fox and Tucker Carlson, this was not an interview. This was a dysfunctional attempt to attack Tucker and it backfired hard.

Today I discovered Semafor. I was impressed by the stated program. So, I decided to watch the interview. My hope was short-lived (about ten minutes). The same idiocy as MSM. Goodbye!

Not being a journalist, I would have thought a better approach would be to ask clear and concise questions, allow for an uninterrupted response (within a reasonable limit) and have the contrary evidence ready to go. Having prepared the questions, an interviewer should be able to anticipate the responses so as to have the evidentiary rebuttal keyed up. Certainly, when dealing with an extreme case like Tucker Carlson and Fox News, that should not have been so difficult to do. What will Semafor do when interviewing someone for whom the contrary evidence is not so plentiful and available to everyone with media access?

Havn't seen an interviewer embarrass themselves like this since discovering Jordan Peterson in his channel whatever interview with that horrible lady who made accusations instead of questions and refused to listen. I saw a lot of that in this guy. He had his questions and he also had his answers long before Tucker appeared. Did anyone else get attempted witch burning vibes from this? The only way you can believe all the shit people say about Tucker is to never actually watch or listen to what he says. It's so bizarre to me how there's a kind of blindness a person has to have in order to ascend to positions of prominence in the legacy media. The systems that funnel people into these rolls increasingly rely on people who will internalize and believe things that anyone who is aware of what different factions ACTUALLY believe, instead of convenient caricatures, simply can't believe. Those people are weeded out from consideration before they even get a foot in the door. Now I'm going to say something that people could call sexist, but is a real problem: I don't know a single affluent liberal woman who could tell you what conservatives believe to save their lives. It's just Mean Girls garbage even at the top levels of society. Gossiping about the poor trashy kids who they know nothing about. It's a dynamic that exists in any society. But now they are sanctioned and validated by institutions and it's a big part of the problem.
