Comparing the Lifetime Tamarack Pro vs Teton Angler
You are behind the times. Been using these for over 3 years.
@@user-zf1ri3pu6i I've been using them for probably 4 myself. It's a great company and a great bait!
I’m between one of these and an Old Town Sportsman 106. Leaning towards the Perception.
@@FishermanFred2023 Old Town's boats are great, too! I definitely would recommend trying both if possible.
@@hikewadepaddle unfortunately the only local place I’ve seen that offers a trial mostly sells Hobie which is too expensive for me right now haha. I have seen both in person though, the flat look of the Outlaw seems kind of different and cool. Waiting til I can find a sale on one.
How do you feel fishing after 6-8 hours? Have a lifetime and seat kills me lol
@@frankmorlino2605 I haven't put that sort of time into it yet. I'm sure it would be great for longer days, though. I fish lots of 8-10 hour days in my Nucanoe Unlimited
Nice editing! What are you filming with?
@@RabbitNachos thanks! I film with both a GoPro Hero 5 and Hero 10.
Material content was good, but the video was a reverse image, and I had problems trying to switch my left eye to my right eye so I could read the packaging, but unfortunately didn't make it.
I never claimed to be good at this! 🤣
My buddy has one of these with a bow mount xi3. It’s a beast of a platform. Crazy how much they cost these days compared to when they came out.
How is the fishing at Cheraw State Park?
I am completely new to kayak and bass fishing. What are some things you would recommend to look for, and avoid with your first kayak? I'm a shorter dude at 5'4. I live on a lake and im getting irked with my inflatable kayak. And i have no idea why some kayaks are only a couple hundred bucks vs thousands. I appreciate your review!
@shabby7127 Firstly, WELCOME TO THE ADDICTION! There are so many variables that dictate whether a kayak is right for you. Budget, bodies of water you intend to fish, propulsion of the kayak, etc. One of the main things to remember is longer kayaks are faster and easier to paddle, yet smaller kayaks turn more easily. I could write for hours on the topic, and understand when it all feels overwhelming. Price differences normally come from production quality differences, paddle vs pedal, accessories, etc. I really recommend checking out The Bearded Paddler and Headwaters Kayak channels. They are awesome at what they do. All the best!
@@hikewadepaddle will do! And thank you for the welcome! Looking forward to checking out some of your other videos!
Great work. Just subbed to the channel for future vids. Keep up the great work. Tight lines
@@bloodlinefishingadventuresllc thank you! I appreciate it!
@@hikewadepaddle np. Good luck
Looks like a really pretty lake!
Great video buddy!!
Thanks, Dave! Classic will be here before we know it!
@@hikewadepaddle yes sir, I'm starting my prep for it now!
First one of your videos I've seen. Well done my man you got a natural presence in front of the camera. Keep it up man, new sub here.
Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words. I hope to keep the channel growing!
😂😂😂😂 LMAO you lost the beautiful fish bruh
It happens! That's for watching!
AMIGO VC CONHECE ALGUM SITE QUE VENDA PARA O BRASIL ?
Enjoy it while you can before the Corporate Nazis take it all away
What brand of tin foil hat do you prefer most? Or can I just save money and go store brand?
Weird. I’ve got a lifetime Teton 100 and a lifetime Teton pro 12.6 that’s identical to the tamarack but called a Teton pro
Time for a new pair of fish grips my friend. Ive had a pair of those rapala grips they flex to easy and allow the bowfin to come right off them...
Yep. They are JUNK.
Another great video, my friend !
Thanks, Rick!
Man up quit whining
K
That gets me pumped to go get on a good bowfin bite!
It's a blast, isn't it!? I'm editing another bowfin video, now. It should be out soon! Thanks for watching!
How would handle water coming into the boat? I really like this design and had one like 15 yrs ago but want to take into the Intracoastal and may experience wakes so waves over the bow...
You would need a bilge pump or sponge. It's a very comfortable design, though.
Hope you get likes❤
Could you replace those tracks with stronger better ones?
I think so. I've sold both kayaks since this video, but I'm sure they are drilled at similar lengths to other tracks on the market.
My Aunt taught me how to find Hellgrammite's in the moss growing on the rocks in the water falls on the Spring River. 1966
As a counterpoint, I owned the Pelican Trailblazer for years using it on class 2-3 rivers and mountain lakes, it was stolen will replace with a Bandit. The Bandit is the same hull. I am 6 foot 200 pounds and had no problem with the size of or layout of the boat. The hull was surprisingly fast and tracked straight. For the price it was a good boat. I especially like the lack of side handles on the top deck, these alway get in the way of paddle strokes. I am continually changing my stoke articulations, and when I am doing a low follow through the handles can be obrusive. My experience and comparison comes from 45 years boating on the Great Lakes, I used a 17 foot Seda sea kayak of Kevlar, with a rudder system, about a $2500 kayak back in the 90s. Very stiff and strong for those 14 foot waves. Moved to Northern california wilderness 16 years ago and these simple Pelicans are all I need on the gentle water and rivers here.
Needed add-ons are paddle holder and side carry handles.
Fair and accurate reviw!
Nothing but FUN!! Thank you for a very nice video!
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it.
Man looks like a some crazy fun. I don’t wanna burn your spots but what lake or river are you fishing?
If I said the name of the lake it would give it away. That said, the Catawba River system in North and South Carolina is where I do most of my fishing.
@@hikewadepaddle thank you. I’m about 2 1/2 hours south of there. Gonna have to go try some when the weather warms on up.
Nice nice.. that was massive!
Nice catch bro! Love your videos
Thank you for the kind words! I hope to be able to post more regularly in 2024! Happy new year!
Looks phenomenal fun. Just started my glass rod journey using a maxcatch 7ft 3wt to see if it’s worth further investment😊Looking now at an Echo glass, Taniwha 1/2wt. Think my carbon rods are going to see a whole lot of dust😮 Fished in Texas for panfish, small catfish on the fly and superb fun, but on a glass rod is different level. Great video mate🎉
Great comparison review video. I bought the Tamarack Pro 103 3 yrs ago & made many mods to it. It has been a workhorse allowing me to catch hundreds of fish. Teton may be better for standing in but I never stand. Both are very good inexpensive, entry level fishing kayaks. I purchased mine from Walmart, shipped, for $399 3 yrs ago.
Thanks for the kind words! They are definitely great kayaks for their price point.
“Look at that pretty fish”…… black fish due to the shadow/camera angle every time…. Constructive criticism…Really looked like a good time though! I have a 6’6” 2 weight I use for pan fish / crappie and blue lining for native trout. So much fun! Keep fishing and I enjoyed watching!
What camera mount are you using?
Man, I genuinely don't remember what I had rigged up at this time. I use all of the different Yak Attak camera mounts in my videos, though.
Cool man!
Enjoyed the video man. Keep em coming!
What a woman. Why don’t you take up growing flowers for a hobby.
I enjoy plants, as well.
@@hikewadepaddle so do I, but I don’t worry about hurting them.
@@Jay-tk7ib I guess if advocating for catch and release makes me a woman, I'll start looking for an OBGYN. Any recommendations? Thanks for watching enough to get upset about something! All engagement is good engagement!
@@hikewadepaddle It’s not so much about catch and release as much as you worrying about the fish landing on the ground. As for catch and release, I’m sure you’d be glad to eat a fish if times get rough enough.
@@Jay-tk7ib I can't imagine getting so fired up over someone not wanting to drop fish. C'est la vie.
Dang! Thise are epic bowfin! Nikko craw ftw! Great video
nice 👍
The CRIMINALS are Finally begining to DIE.
I'm no fan of the guy, to say the least, but I feel you may have missed the spirit of this by jusssssst a bit.
Shits weird...
Hahah. I hate when i get clumsy and everything i do goes wrong..glad ya didn't lose ya pliers ..i still got the blue teton .i added a milk crate, a anchor trolly. And some out riggers. With my COPD i dont need to be flipped and fighting to get back in
Nice review im about to get this kayak or you can recommend me another kayak for the same price
The market is pretty saturated at that price point. My favorite budget friendly kayak of all time is still the Perception Pescador. Much higher build quality than the Lifetime boats, for sure.
Ouchies spines are no fun. See you at the Classic in a few days!
I can't wait! Good luck, Saturday, and it will be great to meet you in person. I don't think we crossed paths, last year.
@@hikewadepaddle no we didn't you headed back home before the meet up and weigh in. Best of luck to you as well I think this year's tourney will be a tough one bowfin bite has been strange lately. You should do some video for your channel show the fun and anxiety that is the Jurassic Classic!!
hows the weather up there? friggin hot here in La
It's hot enough I decided not to fish, today. It is BRUTAL, right now.
Good stuff man! I've been so ate up w/their other baits, it's now time to expand my horizons. Just started throwing the Tadpoles, zoning in on the Winnow is next. New Sub from Indiana, keep on Fishin!!
The bass worm and craw are definitely my favorite Nikko baits, the Winnow is certainly closing the gap! I need to throw the tadpole. It's been sitting neatly on my shelf in the man cave for a year 🤣. Thanks for subscribing!
@@hikewadepaddle you got it! I've got a pretty serious man crush on the Hellgrammite & Leach, & the Caddisfly has become a Panfish SLAYER for me this year! Can't wait to start working the Winnow.
Ive heard a lot of people say that the zip tie will break when u pull on it. I dont see that happening. Have u ever tried to break a zip tie with your hand? Now imagine trying to break one with a rope hanging 40 feet below your boat....
Hell of a lot more leverage with the anchor, the obstruction, and the kayak. It generally breaks without any issues if that situation arises.
I have the pink version, but for some reason it seems to fill with water. Any tips or tricks to help? I’m new to kayak owning
If the kayak itself is filling with water, it has a crack in it somewhere (most likely at one or more of the supper holes). If the cockpit itself is filling with water, it is most likely capacity related. You can buy supper plugs if that is the case.
