Full guitar and bass cover for Plush by STP. Recorded with SM-57 mic'd amps running into a Focusrite 4i4, plugged straight into reaper. Tried to achieve the tones of the original as best we could! Let us know what you think. Amplifiers used: Marshall JCM 800 - Bass Marshall Silver Jubilee - Guitar Vox AC-30 - Guitar
Amp Distortion vs. Speaker Distortion - Why Not Both? - Blonde Fender Bassman

Turning my 6G6-B Bassman to deafening volumes with a Fender Strat and a Les Paul Custom. Volume ranging between 6 and 10 depending on the song. Nice breakup and natural distortion from the amp. The speaker is a mid 60's Eminance.

1992 Tokyo Knocking On Heavens Door solo
This is how to play it same as Slash if anyone's curious. I think slash does throw some random alternate picking in some of those massive pull off runs. Kinda like dimebag did. You have all the notes but throw some random flat picking for say, a triplet, and you will sound like the album. Great tone btw!
Great job 🎉
Goddam man... you are amazing congrats... I wonder if youll do keiths part too.. cheers
spot on !! 😱🎸
Helluva job man!!!!!
Incredible!!
Very nice job! I’m still trying to learn Micks parts.
Yessssssssssssssssssss Good job bro
Close!
this is an amazing demonstration and your tone is beyond fantastic,. You are an excellent player!!!! but just fyi there is misunderstanding with the 2150 Combo . . . IT IS NOT JMP as we know from the late 70's even though it was mfg during the same period. A friend of mine had a 2150 in late 1977. It is two (2) Separate 50watt Channels to equal 100watt . . but they are Separate. These two (2) Channels ofcourse can be Jumpered without issue and whether this brings your total wattage up to 100watt . . I have no clue. I've also heard 2150's Combo's Clean and it's decent / usable. I still own my old 2104 Combo, which is very kewl from 1980, but the 2150 is warmer and ironically is also more versatile because the Clean is Usuable even with that Powercell speaker . . THERE IS NO USUABLE Clean on a 2104 50watt Combo. Thanks for sharing your wonderful demonstration!
Mate so cool but painful i'm just about managing to do civil war intro
Thank you!
great job, mick taylor´s time was the best stonestime
Great demo. Nice tone. I have the 59 , cant find a blonde
cool, what effects pedals do you use?
WTF That was neat my man ! 👏👏👏👏👏
Wow ! You nailed it as close as anyone (even Slash). It's been my guilty pleasure to listen to that solo for years. It's a buried under all the choruses and stuff, but man it is a great solo. It's like a short cut path through the forest that only few people know, despite everyone knowing the forest.
The correct way ?? Slash didnt even play tnis solo on the record thats whats really funny ... he cant play thie part thats on the record correctly because whoever mike clink called in to get the track is a really good gujtarist ...
Why would he? It’s called improvisation, Slash improvised on the record and never plays it the same twice. It’s stupid to think he would play it note for note live to match the recording. He uses the same scale and some common motifs that’s it.
yep that's it
That was SUBLIME!!
Do you have your tune to Eb?
Pretty sure slash plays the main riff on the lower string
Well played and great tone! What year is the Custom?
Thanks, its from 1993
Best I've heard. !!!! WOW! !! Bravo!!!!
excellent
That couldn’t have been better than Mick played it. At least it didn’t sound like it!!!!!
Always loved that solo. Magnificent malevolence.
damn that les paul looks sexy
wow!!
Wow,❤
That’s a pretty good performance, but it’s not the ‘correct way’ Wrong: The beginning is ok but it’s not played there 0:23 - 0:25 0:46 - 0:47 0:54 1:06 some notes missing 1:15 that last part, nope 1:29 wrong frets again, and that ending isn’t accurate 1:37-1:49 I wouldn’t be so picky but you said ‘correct’ so…
nerd
Wonderful job! Killed it!
Well done, Pat K! 👍
ya ya's is great but needed MORE taylor than this second solo and stray cat blues
Wow, thanks for sharing.
Outstanding!
Wow, that 2 minute solo went on for hours!
Well done, very well done! Bravo!

I dunno...that looked like the incorrect way. jk...that was fantastic!
Wow!!! Beautiful Les Paul
Nice quilt.
You nailed it dude...kudos !
right on man slowly rockin on
that's great. how long did it take you to get that sorted and what gear are you using tone wise?
Phew !! Damn ! Just watched your video of Mick Taylor's leads in Sympathy for the devil. Then tapped on this. I hope you're sharing your skills live for people. Impressive watching on this old phone. I thank you. I think I can close my mouth now. PEACE from Philadelphia
Noone can play it perfect, not even Slash, but this was the closest i 've heard to the recording
You have that kind of technique that makes everything look MUCH easier than it actually is!
I don’t think Slash can play it any better. Great job!!!🤘🏻
