Thank you for this awesome video and this sealed the deal for me I’m all in
I had to pause the video midway and just let you know your doing a phenomenal job explaining everything to the T. I do washer/dryer repair for my fulltime and a good bit of them are venting related. Got me thinking, why not do this on the side and who knows, making it MY business. Thankyou brotha

I’m in the Houston area. Other than knowledge and insurance etc. any other things I need to do in terms of licensing that you know of?
@@christianguthrie4564 no sir.. no particular contractor license requirements other than a standard business tax license.

Praise the lord he was protecting you in that situation! Thank you for all these videos!! Im thinking about scheduling a call for Dryer Vent Profits, im ready to dive into this. What should I already have accomplished before I schedule it? I have basic tools to do this but very little knowledge on how to do it right.

I checked the search results and there are zero searches for dryer vent cleaning in my area. Any tips on how to get business outside of google?
Depending on what tool you’re using, the search volume results may vary (all of them are a bit inaccurate too). What city/state are you in? But yes there are other strategies for getting customers besides Google.
@@JacobMills1989 I was thinking about FB marketing. I'm 90 miles outside of DC in Hagerstown MD.
🫣
So how do you know to clean it from the outside vs the inside? Is it up to the client or is it done for specific reasons?
@@caydenodell6770 it’s just easier to get good content when you’re blowing it out vs vacuuming it from the inside. But it’s a lot easier to just vacuum it from the inside and avoid having to clean up the mess. That’s usually what we do..
Are you guys using air?
@@empirestatepowerwashing mainly brushes/vacs. We do use air for multi-unit exterior access only dryer vent cleanings though

have you tried Meta Ads?
Didn't know you have to have a contractor license??? Why
@@MA-yv8dw it depends on where you’re located and what type of dryer vent maintenance you’re going. Where are you located? TN doesn’t require me to have a contractors license for the work I do, just a business tax license…

What were some of the things you did to get your first customers?
@@Fetchup I made a list of home owners i know and reached out to them to ask them if they’ve ever heard of dryer vent cleaning and if they’ve ever had it done/told them I was starting a DVC business and could give them a friends and family deal. I also set up a Google Business Profile (at the time called a GMB) and a website and ranked them at the top of Google for search phrases like “dryer vent cleaning Nashville TN”. Those were the two things that really got me going. I didn’t do much else in the beginning.
are you able to make a video that has all the tools you needed to start your business
@@BENDOVER1254 yea that’s a good idea 👍🏽 but have you seen this video? I basically go over all of the tools just not as specific as I could be 👉🏽ua-cam.com/video/i0ESYYoIdW8/v-deo.htmlsi=ZsdnktcUfLbQe6mX
@@JacobMills1989 yes I did watch this video. You're very helpful. What I remembered is the telescopic ladder, the dryer vent cleaning kit and some small tools. What were the tools you bought after to make the job easier? Also there is a huge problem in my area with scams with fake duct cleaning ads. Is this a problem where you live and if so how do you get your customers to trust you? I was planning on buying a camera to show the customer the before and after. And in your video you state that you started out by calling everyone you know who owns a house. So I reached out to some people in my family to see if they have ever got the vents cleaned and 90% of them didn't even know it was something they needed to do. My question is do most of your jobs contact you because they want it cleaned or do you have to explain to people that they should have it cleaned?
@@BENDOVER1254 most customers contact my company because they know they need it cleaned. Great marketing attracts your ideal customer at very specific stages of awareness (that’s a whole separate video). Basically, there’s a lot of opportunity for attracting customers that have little to no awareness that they need this done by educating them. But also a lot of opportunity for attracting them at a later stage (aware of the need and ready to buy). I’ll do my best to make a video about the tools needed and a video on the marketing fundamentals here soon 👍🏽
@@BENDOVER1254 and yes the scammers are in every market. It has become a big problem. But there are ways to stand out and still do well.
Thank you Jacob, God Bless!

@@JacobMills1989 keep fighting the good fight brother.. also.. do you have any advice or videos on how to clean the dryer vent?
That's wild! So did you do roofs after that? Or did you end up declining customers that had steep roofs?
@@prapra15777 I still did roofs just either with better equipment for safely scaling the roofs or better ladder footing lol. I never again set my ladder up on a fairly steep roof (ladder feet about 6 inches from the edge) to get on an even steeper roof! 😬

Thanks my brother! I appreciate your feedback 🙏🏽 you’re a good man too and I’m happy to be working with you!
most helpful video I've seen bro, thank you for your insight! I have a few questions: --did you hire employees to reach 6 figures? I noticed one of the reviews you showed the techs name was Jason and your names Jacob --what size telescoping ladder do you recommend? I see some go as high as 26ft --Do you recommend cleaning from the outside in or inside out, or both? Could you please specify exactly how to do it? I'm starting with a drill and brush system. Thanks again, you've earned my subscription and likes!
@@prapra15777 I’m glad you gained some insight brother! - I only had one guy when I reached 6-figures per year. But you don’t need any employees to reach 6-figures a year. You can easily crack 6-figures by yourself. - We use 20 ft telescopic ladders. We also carry 32 ft extension ladders on all of our trucks (we only have to use them roughly 25% of the time due to the telescopic ladders). -I recommend both inside and out when possible but we have different approaches for different vents and certain situations (I’ll make a video about this soon). If you haven’t already, search for “The Dryer Vent Cleaning Brotherhood” on FB. It’s a group that if full of awesome Pros and advice! What’s the biggest city you’re serving? Thanks for the sub!
@@JacobMills1989 awesome! Yeah I live in a city of 200k+ people. I'm in upstate NY. 2 more questions if you don't mind bro: What's your pricing? Per job, or hourly? I want to be confident in my pricing but really have no clue. Lastly, would you potentially be interested in a phone convo sometime? I would pay you $25 for 15 min of your time. If not no big deal, I'd simply enjoy learning the nuances of the business from a professional, plus we're both believers too. I'm a highly motivated individual and want my business to flourish.
