Best episode of Star Trek bar none Including all of the series
Excellent episode, clearly one of the best.
Fine ass woman.
Joan Collins was just superb in this Star Trek episode. Proved herself to be a quite able actress before, she mistakenly appeared in Dynasty which ruined her career as,far as I was concerned. She performed equally well in an episode of Space 1999 in 1975 called "Mission Of The DARIANS." Check it out.
I missed out. I never had a chance to see any of the characters in this series in person. I saw every episode. This was way ahead of its time! ❤❤❤
Spock's Brain is an under-rated episode . Leonard was an intelligent costar to counter Shatner's dynamic persona. We got lucky in the casting.
Her character was a true Social Worker- help vulnerable people, but inspire them to be more and require them to pull their weight and earn their way. All while dressed dowdy lol.
Isaac Asimov
Jim! Do you know what you just did? He knows Doctor. He knows.
The original Star Trek series was an extremely well written show. It was a captivating series.
The fix was worse than the problem. If you have never seen the episode, it is highly recommended.
this is one of, if not the, hardest episodes to rewatch.
It's so heartbreaking when Shat squeezes his eyes shut as he's holding McCoy back from saving her. 🥺
Heartbreaking to see. “He knows, Dr. he knows.”
Ellison won two awards for the script. Writers Guild & Hugo award.
Nimoy couldn't bring himself to say "and well acted." 🤣🤣🙄
I miss Leonard Nimoy the World is so much darker without him.
I think some people who know very little about Star Trek choose this episode as their favorite, or declare it the best because they want to sound like they know a lot about Star Trek.
Outstanding episode 👏
My favorite episode.
Instead of letting her die, they could have taken her with them to the future.
The Musical close to this episode along with the last words from Captain Kirk, "Let's get the Hell out of here!!!" Really hits you hard seeing how helpless & hurt Captain Kirk was!
Agreed
Edith Keeler had some form of prophecy but couldn't foresee her own destiny
That last scene never fails to have my eyes stop tearing up every time I recited Bones's line during that scene... "you deliberately stopped me, Jim... I could've saved her... do you know what you just did?"
and spocks reply "He knows, Doctor. He knows"
I had an occasion to meet Mr Nemoy and watch him work as a producer for a fey days. He was both professional, kind a focused.
Man, that episode was sad😢😢😮
Sweet day in the morning, this was a sad episode 😢😢😢
❤ Thnx 4 Teaching Us wat is on the other side of the Earth ,in Orbit.🎉😮😊.
They should have saved her and dragged her back to the future in a delorean :)
The nickname, "Hi tler's Girlfriend" was a PERFECTLY accurate nickname.
God I love Ricardo Montalban. Loved him on Fantasy Island, adored him on Star Trek. He was a brilliant gorgeous man!
Great episode!!!
Although technology has advanced to give us some stunning images from these new iterations of ST unfortunately our humanity has become compromised and thus our hope for the future is dull or vapid. Total loss of morality or even the most basic understanding of the human being. Ironic how the original ST often warned us about these very things.
A magnificent screenplay by a sci-fi master writer Harlan Ellison.
Stone knives and bear skins ... ❤️❤️
Yeah….. but your electric bill will keep going up.
Damn onions! snif
Harlan Ellisons episode was the Best! Well Done Harlan!
Your opinion.
What an intelligent and thoughtful man. Truly a great talent.
Shows how disingenuous Star Fleet is. They claim they are out there to explore. When they actually come across a Trelane or a Q...
It is too bad they could not have taken Edith with them, it would have been as if she died in the timeline as she would not have influenced what ever she did to change the timeline.
I’ve read more of her books than any other author! She’s amazing!
It's said that Kirk kissed or was kissed in 20 episodes, but "Shore Leave" wasn't one of them. He met his lost love Ruth who he said hadn't aged 15 years since they were last together. Considering the actress was 32 and Shatner 35, then that meant Kirk had a relationship with a 32-year-old woman when he was 20! I imagine she was the one who taught him poetry, romance and other things. But she kisses him on the cheek and he looks on her dumfounded, leaving some to think her character had died. As seen in the clip, they gave McCoy the romance with Yeoman Barrows, though she massaged Kirk's back at the start of the episode until he realized it wasn't Mr. Spock and asked her to stop.
I knew "The Naked Time" was an early episode (7th produced, 4th broadcast), but it seems odd that Chapel would come on to Spock before resolving her issues with her lost fiancé in "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" (10th produced, 7th broadcast) since it was revealed that she signed on to search for him.
This is a amazing interview. This really debunks Roddy McDowell auditioning for the part . The episode writer Paul Schnieder got the idea of watching kids playing War. Trelane is a over grown child.
Jerry Sohl hit it out of the park with The Corbomite Manauver but had to use a false name for This Side of Paradise? Seriously? Meanwhile he kept his name on Whom Gods Destroy, one of Trek's most derivative episodes. Writers. Who can figure them.😂😂😂
Top 5 episodes from all the Star Trek universe
A really good science fiction and fantasy double threat. I just re-read "Three Hearts and Three Lions". It was just as good the second time around. Maybe even better, seeing as I was 12 the first time i read it.
Not just the best episode of any Star Trek. Quite possibly the greatest episode of any television show ever made. And amazing since it was originally the weirdest and cringiest screenplay by Ellison you could imagine
One of the best episodes 😢
