Our process of a Seakeeper 6 refit on a Viking 60. Andrew talks us through how we prepare the engine room for access, plus, how we ensure that all of the parts stay undamaged and protected.
Then, we’re starting to get closer to installing the Seakeeper sphere, but first, we need to set up the gantry. Once the gantry is assembled, our team starts removing the old sphere and then installing the new one - inching the Seakeepr into position. Every millimetre counts.
Finally, we get help from the big guns, Shane’s Cranes - The only man we trust to get the millimetre precision we need.

About Onboard Engineering: Founded in 2008, Onboard Engineering is owned and operated by its Directors, Andrew Stubbs, Damian Mercieca and Shannan Day. Andrew, Damian and Shannan combined, have almost 70 years of experience in the Marine Industry spanning pleasure craft through to commercial and high-performance diesel vessels.

We operate eight mobile service vehicles. Over time, we have developed strong relationships with various marina's, hardstand and slip way facilities. Onboard Engineering has a workshop located in Taren Point, Sydney, Australia. Taren Point is located centrally to Port Hacking, Georges River / Botany Bay and Sydney Harbour. Onboard Engineering has an additional workshop located at Burraneer Bay Marina.
Onboard Engineering also has a large customer base with vessels on Pittwater. Onboard Engineering services many super yachts and game fishing vessels from Cooktown to Eden. Onboard Engineering supplies technicians to many parts of the world including the USA, Europe, Asia, South Pacific and New Zealand.
