I need help. I finally found your video. I've been messing with this all day. Installed same steering wheel. When I screw the screws in the button no longer presses. Only presses when screws are only halfway in. I installed exactly like you did. Help me understand! 😢

Good video. I have a '68 and the aluminum Horn Button ''cup'' is deeper than the '69 --'72. [Unless I got it backwards?!] Anyway the assembly is the same. I put an X in Sharpie ink on the back [concave] side of the Spring Disc so I'd know what side went down. Mine still honks the Horn constantly, even if assembled right. [So I've had to unplug the Horn Relay = no horn.] I'm thinking I need to replace the Upper Steering Column Bearing. A BB is missing from the race, maybe two. If that doesn't work, then I'll have to R&R the Lower Bearings too. More of a PIA. Just waiting to get the re-fabbed Steering Wheel repainted in Fawn.

Havent pulled my steering wheel off yet but my horn wants to honk when i turn the wheel or touch the wheel just right.

This reminds me of when my mother used to tie my hair in rags to achieve curls back in the 1960’s. 👌💕

If you take your fingers and run them from behind your ears along your scalp to the top of the middle of your part you will add more volume and seperate the curls a lot better. Rather than using the downward pulling motion. you'll find it will make your curls last longer too. Beautiful job tho, I've never seen this method before.

Bro, you are the man. I too have been scouring the internet for exactly this. All I could find was custom steering wheel installs and no stock ones. Heck, even my Haynes manual has nada on this topic. Truly appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO the other white round plastic piece in my kit with the spring and metal post looking thing are for the round steering wheels??? Our steering wheel looks like yours and I could not figure out how those pieces fit in the mix...???
