Hopefully this gets more people downtown and revitalizes the area!
@@Mike_Genisys I think all the public parks will. Family friendly.
What a great catch. I remember reading about this project before I moved here. Great decision by FDOT and the city to open up the waterfront
“More……………….MORE!”- Kylo Ren
@@njv1234 will do.
Awesome video! Thanks for taking the time to put these together. 👍
@@glamar99 Thanks. More coming.
Its cool down there you don't realize how massive it is until you walk around the perimeter. I did that on Christmas day
@@chrisdurden916 thirty acres of it.
Oh I was going to let you know that those white structures at the end they're going to be some kind of huge swings. They have places to bolt through to put swings in. At least that's what it looks like. I got a close-up picture of it
@chrisdurden916 ok good to know.
Wow really cool. This is a massive project that seems to coming along nicely. They’re basically building a whole village from scratch.
@@UsefullyOrdinay-c5l yeah roads and everything.
Not much progress with this development
Check out my newly released video on it.
Great as always. Excited to see the Related Jax project and gateway jax kickoff! In your opinion, what would you like to see in terms of downtown development that would propel the city forward to start competing with Orlando or Tampa fe?
@@Scottie-z7c riverwalk expansions. There is currently plans for that on the southbank going through the rivers edge project and on the Northbank going from uss orleck to the four seasons. I would also like to see the paddle wheel boat come back that would take people on a cruise on the river and have dinner. A unique part of our city is a river runs through it. We need to highlight that.
You have more of a realistic view. I Tampa’s Riverside last year and that was beautiful. I entered from near Hilton and walked to Channelside and had lunch. My idea is more far fetched in the sense that I would like to see quite a few more taller buildings to add to the skyline ie JW Marriott (because what major city doesn’t have one), definitely more shops, restaurants, and a more entertainment/nightlife for before and after sporting events. The traffic is terrible!
We'll be in Jacksonville in March and see how it has changed since last spring's visit. Thanks.
@@oldhobo5610 do you vacation here once a year? I ask because I would like to see more people do that.
@stevecameronbennett5821 We visit Florida (mid to north) or Texas for a month usually Last year was the first time boating here. In 2026 we'll likely return to the St Johns.
Enjoying your content. I'm curious, do you have an Instagram page?
@@chrisdurden916 no
Why Jacksonville never had a Four or Five Star hotel or an entertainment district?
Because the city's leadership thought a jail would look better on water front property.
I don't think they are replacing the boat slips. According to some of the renderings, it looks like they're gonna keep them as is.
It is supposed to be some kind of cafe underneath a large play area at Riverfront Plaza.
@@jeromehoward1249 nice
I wonder how they plan on managing flooding?
@@Mike_Genisys it's all about elevation. I saw them bring alot of dirt and spread it around before the project started. If you stand on the riverbank and look to the left at the school board building property it seems higher than that property. Time will tell if they made it high enough.
This was great work! Thanks for taking the time to put this together! Looking for to your next project update.
Why isn’t that made of ALL SOLID concrete block, not solid, no thanks
@@jazzyflorida3757 for what there asking probably should be. the asking prices starts in the 700s.
Great vid. Would be interested to see more of one Riverside
My next video is going to be the riverfront plaza project. I will make it a point to do the one riverside apartments after that.

The podcasting room is GENIUS!! As a millennial, it is important to have an online presence no matter what the vocation. Its just the way now. Whether you are an attorney, an entrepreneur, or even a contractor - online presence is important. Its the new "billboard" of advertising. Given the type of demographic that Jacksonville is pulling in (younger, techy, hip, remote workers), a podcast room is absolutely essential. Its akin to having a convenient conference room available for use as opposed to renting one out. Any who, I LOVE watching your videos. They are very informative! Please keep them coming!
Thanks. getting feedback like that means alot to me.
Dope
The most impressive shit is the shit that's already been up for 50 years. Fucker's gonna make me be 90 before I see another high rise.
Hey Steve it's Johnny. You're getting better at this. Great job! Keep it up
Thanks
When I went back and watched this video on my TV the video became extremely pixalated like my enternet or TV could not process that much information. Let me know if you're having the same issue and I will go into settings and reduce the resolution to see if that helps.
I appreciate you

Have you thought about a video on the beach renoirishment project? Its a big undertaking by the army corps of engineers going on for the next 16 weeks
I'm always open for suggestions.
You should do a video on the 4 seasons hotel
If you scroll back you will see that I did one of the four seasons about three weeks ago. I try to get over there around once a month.
Just a reminder to anyone who reads this. Anyone is welcome to post a video of a construction project that they are interested in on this channel.
Keep the updates on the city coming ! 💪🏾
Will do
Wow! That is huge. Construction is moving fast.
They don't mess around with apartments.
How's it going Cullen it's time for a boat post.
I appreciate your videos!
Thank you
If you go back to two years ago in my videos you will find a video called Jacksonville southbank riverwalk expansion where i go into a little more detail on this wooden boardwalk.
Thanks for the update. Momentum will be key if something as ambitious like this ever gets to completion
The momentum boulder has started rolling on this project. Millions have been poured into infrastructure like drainage, roads, street lights, sewer, don't worry there not turning back now.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Cullen I have been following you since your boat was at river city brewing company. I hated to hear about your Incident on the North bank. Next time give the southbank a try.
It’s finally open!
oh. so sad they got rid of those stairs.
What stairs? Where were they at?
@@stevecameronbennett5821 - next to that ramped tower, going to the fountain, there used to be a whole bunch of stairs. One of them was a 7 stairset, that connected to a large 5 stair, and then the smallest was the 3 stair leading up to the fountain. Directly next to the tower, was a two stair, then flat, and then another two stair that was right by the fountain. Used to bmx there as a kid.
are the stairsets (3, 5, and I think a 7 stairset) still over by the water station spiral building?
I'm 56 years old and that building has always had a smooth ramp going up to the top. I use to ride my skateboard down it when I was a kid.
@@stevecameronbennett5821 check out this image - this is the smaller stairset on the farther side of the fountain. But there were an even bigger 5 and 7 stairset closer to the ramped building. I rode my unicycle down the wall as a kid. photos.metrojacksonville.com/photos/469307130_9nfqp-M.jpg
Nice..🙌🏼👍👏🏼🏢📸🚧🏗
Looks like cap cut been working for ya
Yes
I hope this project succeeds
Do they already know or are aware of exactly WHAT will be built/constructed on the vacant land and parcels within this project? Or are they just laying stuff in place in hopes that THEY COME and then they will build?
Good question. Once the roads are finished they will start selling lots to developers. I'm under the impression that one area will be designated for town houses and another for condos and onother for a hotel so on and so on.
When is this going to be finished
There will be different phases for the next couple of years. Infrastructure always takes the longest. When there threw doing the roads I expect to see them working on town houses in the back right corner.
Can you do the river front plaza
I ride by there about once a week and they haven't started on the empty lot yet. They are working surrounding roads replacing drainage so there's really not much to show yet.
I wanna visit this place is it located,am a traveller
Friendship park is under construction right now so there's not much to see until it's completed. But it does have an entrance to the southbank riverwalk and a museum that's open if you would be interested in that. You should be able to type in Friendship park in Jacksonville on your GPS or look up address .
What are those tanks standing up that the trucks bring in are they gas for refueling or for chilling the ground so the can dig down easy.
I believe it is a temporary concrete factory. If you go back and look at the video it looks like they are pumping concrete in the ground to get a good foundation.
Ah ok
I’m so late 😂😂😂
GREAT job......Still think they are far behind other projects that started after them...but Waiting to see, thanks again for the view
In there defense it's a 30 acre project but over the years I've learned to take what year they say it will be completed and ad a year to it. The project that's taking way too long in this town is the freindship fountain project. I go buy there once a month to get some Drone video of it and nothing has changed from the last time I was there.
Thanks for sharing.
I work overseas, nice to see the changes going on in my home city.
