People forget how neglectful of Ross Rachel was in the time leading up to the break up. She brushed away his concerns and feelings about almost anything, especially after him explaining the reason he was uncomfortable with Mark was because of what happened with Carole. The show leads us to believe that Rachel and Ross basically spent zero time together while Rachel was chasing her career, completely oblivious of their romantic situation. Ross was clearly in a whole lot of emotional distress through all of those events, and Rachel constantly dismissed Ross' needs instead of assuring him that there was nothing with Mark, and not allowing her career to destroy their relationship. The break up in itself is entirely on Rachel. When Ross went to the bar after the break up he felt in the exact same place as he was right after his divorce. Rachel shouldn't have cared what he did after they broke up. If you want to stay together with someone, you tell them 'lets talk later', I am angry right now, not "lets take a break from us" knowing your partner was worried about that happening the entire time.

She's an obuser, she beats him, it's a crime. They didn't put her in jail just because she's a woman. I understand that this is a movie, I'm talking about the fact that this happens everywhere and the movies show it as the norm. At the same time, if he had started to defend himself and hit her back, he would have gone to jail. And if he had called the cops, nothing would have happened, they would have laughed at him.
