First Archery Pronghorn is a FREAK!
Follow along as I head out for my first hunt of the season here in Colorado: spot and stalk archery pronghorn! After several days battling it out on public, I change tactics and head out with my good buddy Beau onto a piece of ground with less pressure. We are able to capitalize on the late season rut action and decoy this freak buck into range.

Headed East: The Story of My First Whitetail Buck
Переглядів 1594 роки тому
We have been hunting a trio of Nebraska properties for three years now and it was time I held out for a buck. I harvested a doe last year and was going to wait for an 8 point or better deer to show up. Spoiler alert: he showed up!
The Long Season

A video to showcase my 2019 Colorado Archery season. From a limited entry pronghorn tag that I spent over 15 days trying to fill, to a short but enjoyable mountain mule deer hunt, to a brutally challenging and frustrating elk hunt on the western slope. No tags were filled, but many lessons were learned and much fun was had. Enjoy.

Pronghorn Day (Lesson) Three with Lindsey!
Earl and Beau are my hero’s! Well done fellas!!!
Nice work fellas! Great buck
Great video, Earl! Congratulations on a super cool buck!
Great video man. Super helpful. Super wellshot. I'm making one rn during my daughter's nap times in the evenings. Really appreciate you taking the time to make this video
Corn-Fed Monster!
Someone put a Mega meat through Homeboys earlobe!
Both earlobes 😉
What a big 8! 🤪
I had no idea it wasn’t the big 8 until I walked up to him, talk about a pleasant surprise 😎
Thats a monster buck congrats man
Great…but that’s a long video to watch …just to realize you didn’t get the kill on camera 😢
Wasn’t risking it on a deer like that! I record these hunts for myself to be able to look back and reminisce. It’s just a bonus I get to share them with others.
@@Earlimusmaximus I totally get that…self filming is tough
Awesome big 8 lol looks like he grew a few more points after you got down to recover him lol congrats super nice buck
Yeah haha I had no idea it wasn’t the big 8 until I walked up to him!! Pleasant surprise 😎
Great perseverance, congratulations!
TANK ! Congrats! New Sub! #495
Awesome video! Congrats!!
I've learnt a few tricks from this little video, thanks
Wow. Good work. Love your bow btw and matching colors
What kind of shirts are you wearing? I like the style!
Great video but it was difficult to hear you for the about the first few minutes. And how did you attach the sling to your bow?
Good video
Can you tie the rope somewhere else
I just found the fire nock outserts as well and they work great. Much cheaper than Epics product, hopefully as strong.
Why not cape it and shoulder mount, (first bucks should always be shoulder mounted) but tbh do as you wish!
Hey man have you come up with a good noise reduction system for this sight? I’ve shot mine for years and it has this twang to it on the shot.
This is the worst video ever
I realize this is a couple years old, but what bars were you running on your set up?
I love this video. Good knowledge for survival.
Good stuff
Great story Earl! Thanks for sharing.
Hopefully TruFire fixed the D Loop eating problem. Just bought one. Only a few hundred arrows so far; the D Loop looks okay.
You should try a "Whalen hooker release".
Nice video sir make ur day thanks !
Question does the cone make it slow down I'm interested in but I use sticky notes
How are you liking it? Still getting along with it ok?
How did you attach the sling to your bow?
Did you have to move your peep when you switched to the hinge?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for this review. After viewing your video I have decided to give this release a try.
thanks alot, great help, was searching for ages for something like this
you look like young bradley cooper
dude this one is better than all other videos! thank you so much and i want that duct tape of yours lol.
Thanks Man U helped me choose my first back tension
How much you want for exxus
josh ollis I sold it shortly after making this video.
I just bought one of these! Coming tomorrow in the mail, I had a tru-ball fang break on me just 12 days before season starts down here in Florida, so I’ll have about 8 days to practice with it.. great review, glad I checked it out!
Thanks for the tutorial. Are you still happy with the rest?
MtnMig I sold the bow that it was on to a buddy but he still shoots it five years later without issue. I’m shooting a hamskea hybrid hunter pro currently.
@@Earlimusmaximus Thanks for letting me know. I think I will that rest.
Literally the best explanation on making a duct tape cone!
Nice flinch
Martin Addison thank! Restarting your shot is super important when that happens!
In no way am I trying to be a smart ass. But I’ve watched countless videos on UA-cam about back tension releases. I have not seen one person shoot it correctly. You don’t rotate your hand. You grip the release deep so you can’t rotate it and it’s you elbow rotating back towards behind your head using back tension that sets off the release.
deerhost there’s more than one way to use a release. The “proper” way is the way that you as the shooter can execute the shot the same every time. A hinge is not a “back tension” release from a technical aspect, it is however, a movement activated release. The release is fired by movement, a true tension release is in fact activated by back tension.
Shoot Str8 I’ve been involved with archery for 41 years. Ive owned the first few back tension or (hinge releases) that first appeared on the market. A back tension release is just a term for a release that has no trigger. You can call it it a back tension release, hinge or whatever you want. It is designed to grip and pull with your back muscles or ( rhomboids). If you rotate it and trigger it with your hand then it’s just like any other trigger release. You will learn how to time and trigger the release and anticipate the shot. You might as well shoot an index or thumb trigger release. If used correctly the way it is designed to be used, then as you pull with your upper back or rhomboids and slightly rotate the elbow back the release will fire when you are in absolute perfect alignment and with a surprise release. If you really would like to learn to use it that way get the book by Bernie pellirite ( Idiot Proof Archery) it’s an old book but you can probably find it used. Bernie is the creator of the NFAA shooting school. Be well and good shooting,
What size is the set screw? I’ve tired every Allen key in my box
alec munoz I believe it is a 3/32
Well done!
I've a bow riser I've been wanting to do. This seams good way to go. The riser is tan so should work out. Is that a Samick sage you mounted it on?
Well you sold it to me lol. I was offered one with less then 30 arrows on it for less the half original price. Saw your video..... buying the bow and subscribing was easy decision. Thanks mate.
