Hi, I'm Marie! I've probably always been a bit gaga: I saved my first pocket money for a gardening book, I didn't want chocolate from my grandma, but instead chose a bag from her seed box, and for my 12th birthday I wanted nothing more than my own herd of goats (which I got :)).
I now have my own family and grow almost all of our fruit and vegetables myself. We get eggs, milk and meat from our chickens and sheep and because I would love to talk about self-sufficiency all day long (and at some point no one would listen to me anymore), I started sharing my experiences on the Internet. Now you'll get this. :D

My Biggest Potato Harvest Ever (But There is a Problem 😟)
Potatoes are simply brilliant for self-catering: hardly any other plant that is so easy to grow in your own garden provides anything comparable: potatoes are filling, taste super delicious, can be prepared in a variety of ways and are easy to store. For me, the day the tubers come out of the ground is always a very special day in the gardening year.
A few days ago, the time had come for the first potato harvest in the new garden! And I wasn't disappointed - I've actually never harvested so many potatoes before! 💪😃
In my new video, I'll show you why this success has left me with mixed feelings this year, what happens to the stored potatoes now and how I cleverly recycle green tubers.

You CAN Get Rid of Slugs
Переглядів 1,1 тис.4 місяці тому
The (not so) little slime moulds are literally surrounding the vegetable patches and have at least one hungry eye on lettuce, beans and the like. There are so many of them this year that they even dare to approach plants that in other years they don't even give a second glance at. But we don't nurture our vegetables to feed the slugs in the garden! So it's time for action! In my new video, I re...

🍅 Double your Tomato Harvest using String and Wire
I have been lucky to never have diseases in my potatoes. Only problems were mice and an incidental colorado beetle.. Grown from supermarket potatoes as well as from growcenter potatoes. can't say I saw much difference (other than price)
Dehydrated some of the excess. Peel, shred and blanche them and layer them singly in a dehydrator or in a low oven with a cracked open door. Store them in jars with a silicone pack. They'll keep for years.
Beautiful…
So what is the variety? Is it easier because you don't need to cover it up like white cauliflower?
😢😊
Magnificent potato harvest. I wish I could grow more. I don't have enough space unfortunately.
Love your Green/golden potato trick! Will definitely use it again
Hello, please learn about Islam and read the Holy Quran. It is the best book I advise you to read in your entire life. Thank you.
If you're looking for a new boyfriend I'm available (but don't tell the wife), I'm 72 not good looking or wealthy but do have a nice beer belly. I really do like potatoes though so bear that in mind before you rush to a conclusion.
Oh no! Why don't think they are rotting!! I saved my own potatoes and is was a fail! I understand what you mean I hope you feel better
That's a fantastic harvest, thanks for sharing..new friend here from Growing My Own.

Beautiful surrounding !! Next time when you're in Nature be totally barefooted. Mother Nature delights to meet /caress our bare soles. She has loads of goodies to offer. We call her Mother Nature or Mama Earth because she looks after all things that grow and walk on her. The soles of our feet are like the roots of a tree. Just the way she feeds the plants and trees,so she does to us Humans too. All we need to do is to connect with her through the soles of our feet. Our soles have been designed to absorb free Electrons from the earth's surface. Apart from that walking on sand gravel and stones/ pebbles our entire body gets stimulated through the Sensors /Nerve endings which are created under our feet. Those sensors are placed /created for a purpose and that purpose is to go barefoot. Always remember our feet were meant / created to be bare. We humans are the only beings that walk with footwear and by that stupid move we have separated ourselves from this great relationship with Mama Earth. If you're not the type who walk barefoot at all. Start off from home. Be ALWAYS barefoot when you're at home( that's inside the house as well as in your garden ). You may feel uncomfortable at the very outset as the soles of your feet are soft and tender. But don't get discouraged ,move on..... they adjust faster than you think as they're meant created to be bare. Unless otherwise it's very very essential, don't wear any form of footwear. Let your soles enjoy the company of Mother Nature. She takes care of your feet and soles much better than you do. Your feet and soles love and deserve that freedom. Adopt barefoot lifestyle for good health and happy feet and soles
So so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ and i am your new subscriber madam you have done so much hard work mam❤❤❤
