I got money in my pocket. I just can’t get the love from having above. I got money in my pocket. I just can’t get no love. I’m gonna have to use a rubber glove.
Uno dei più bei pezzi di sempre ❤
Slinky, sexy early 80s soul track featuring gorgeous vocals from the mighty Jeanie Tracy - the highlight of Freddie Hubbard's jazzy Splash album. (Jeanie's 80s and 90s solo albums are worth checking out as well - big voice!)

@paulwarren3832 sure does sound like it! 😆
Today is my first day hearing Nard and let me tell you this, the samples borrowed are so obvious. I miss music like this. Born in 89.
hell yeah
i've always loved this version! great great great
So, still to me this song could be the definition of high energy jazz-rock fusion from that time. Yes, too bad Kenny Gorelick left the band, but... Santana lost Schon and Rolie and yet they formed Journey. Tower of Power lost Chester Thompson and he played for Santana for more than a couple decades. ToP also lost Lenny Pickett, and he's been the the sax and band director on SNL for more than a couple of decades. Things change. And more great music seems to come out of it. Even from Jeff Lorber. Take a look at Jeff Lorber Fusion at the Baked Potato here on this site. Things change, and people grow also.
Thank you, Earl Robinson at WKAR back in the seventies. The Golden Rod is timeless. Still sounds good.
There's something about that rock-solid intro that won't leave me alone. It's been 'not leaving me alone' for 45+ years and that's fine with me.
Just lost the love of my life when this album came out, we never got back together
