It's actually safer than many Western places, LOL. The official currency is the Serbian dinar. Euros are only accepted informally in paper banknotes - like when you rent an apartment or buy a used car from someone, they may take euros. Otherwise, in supermarkets and buses for official transactions, you should use the Serbian dinar. I don't think all bus drivers are rude. Maybe they don't speak English and appear rude. Some are, but not all.
