Hello! Kryptic Kurser from Nuclear Christ here. Appreciate the comments about our demo. You are right concerning the why of the different cover. Singapore has regulations concerning nudity, hence the additional artwork that went into use. As for the crazy price for the mp3, it was done with the intention of assisting the label in its sale and distribution of our cassette version. We did not feel it was necessary to place them for download. Thanks again.

Two aging gatekeepers with no hair calling hair metal on a band that obviously isn’t hair metal is hilarious. And laughing at the accomplishments of a woman in metal is the saddest piece of misogyny I’ve ever seen, and I’m from the south. You guys suck.

It's hybrid like that first review stated. Not symphonic metal. Orchestra playing, band playing and both playing and coming together marrying/colliding metal band and orchestra. Experimental project, which was fun to do for both the band and the orchestra. There's a video of the concert with interviews. If they would have played together through the whole thing, that would have made it unimaginative and boring. Those "Metallica goes Classical" albums are on the boring side, just because the orchestra plays second fiddle and is just a clued on thing. What is the point? It would be more interesting, if you would just lose the band, like it is when Apocalyptica plays Metallica. And "weird" is Waltari's thing and niche. If you're genre oriented, you probably are going to have hard time listening their songs, because they tend to be experimental and cross-genre. On the album plays weird looking guys like Roope Latvala (Stone, Sinergy, Children Of Bodom), Janne Parviainen (Barathrum, Sinergy, Ensiferum) and Tomi Koivusaari (Amorphis).

Maybe its about being a Finnish or just being well...me, but for me this album is not weird at all. It is something I expect art and music to be in the first place. I bought this album from a local record store in small town of Finland in 1998. I was already fan of the band but I wasn't very surprised because I knew I can expect unexpected from Waltari. In hindsight it is strange how unnoticed this album was internationally and how it seemingly did not affect much in metal/symphonic metal genre. I expected this to be some kind of beginning of new genre, so that other metal band would start writing music like this and co-operating with symphonic orchestras. When Metallica did their "symphonic thing", it was the point I knew this was not the case and this Waltari's style of mash up (music originally written for metal/symphonic orchestra combo, not making symphonic versions of metal songs etc.) would probably never become a big thing. My realization now is this: this album was avantgarde in 1996 and it is that also now in 2023. You can agree with that even if you don't like the album, it is what it is.

I am a man who shows no mercy for the weak and this comic is one of the weakest pieces of garbage to waste perfectly good paper this century (no mercy no mercy). So I'm gonna give 'em some hell but it's Ok because you know they are harder than steel. See look at that already I've done a better job at working in their lyrics than they did in an entire comic book (grinding wheel engaged): 1. WTF kind of comic is this? Made of cardstock? Says "first edition" and that's about it on the cover because I dunno maybe they have never seen a regular comic before? The amateurishness continues on the inside with the terrible ads apparently all made with a cracked copy of MS Word for Windows 95 (although I'm pretty sure word doesn't require acres of blank space around your text but Jag Panzer never claimed to be graphic designers so we will let them pass on that... psych! not really lol). 2. Artwork. It was really nice of them to help a child artist from Helen Keller's School of Art (no mercy no mercy). 3. "Story". I don't really know where to start and obviously they didn't either. I realize they are gonna claim it's disjointed because it just outlines the full stories on the album but I'm gonna call BS on that. It just doesn't work. Forget the overused "wasteland survival" plot and the obvious weak pandering to the woke crowd with a randomly diverse group of characters (just because why not right? I guess if you are a pussy - no mercy...) there is so much more here that deserves a good thrashing. What about these absolutely stupid name choices? I guess makes sense if these characters are just a bunch of losers from burning man which they may be I dunno. Ok you get past the names and then you get to what they probably really wanted to do in the story which was to have the animals kill a helpless family (woman with small children) to prove just how hard they are. I mean it's not an obvious trope of family hating leftists to fantasize about the destruction of the family. So "edgy" LOL. TBH this would be enough but the story just keeps getting more and more stupid. All the sudden they are at basically a grand canyon. All the animals can apparently walk down but they have to use ropes? Then they end up on some wooden pier (why we don't really know) and one of them somehow gets a rope around some kind of dolphin? because you know people rope dolphins all the time. Then the whole pier gets pulled down because the guy is holding the rope is not tied to the pier? Soon after we learn they have a cage for the big cat... guess they must have had that on their backs when they climbed down the canyon with ropes right? Gotta have a cage if the cat is to escape so there it is. Of course the one guy who can handle the big cat apparently isn't there. So I guess the Animals get tired of all the bad writing and they leave. They only return years later when the humans are telling stories again. The whole thing ends with the animals surrounding the story telling humans about to put then (and us) out of their misery and save the world from any further stupid stories. 4, Guitar pick. This is actually very cool but what do I do with it? If I send the book in to be graded would it be expected to be included or is it totally separate? Basically my complaint here is they needed to find a way to attach the pick to the comic so they don't get separated. BTW I am one of those guys who hold "Ample Destruction" to be their masterpiece although we shouldn't forget the "Tyrants" EP. Yes I bought at least 4 different variants of Ample Destruction on Vinyl w/posters (OK so they aren't that stupid). I really did want to like this comic ( I bought 5). If Jag Panzer needs me to QA their next effort I will help them out for free.

Thanks for the show review, enjoyed learning of your experience and perspectives. Sabaton’s obviously the biggest band in the powermetal scene currently with some great songs so if a bands music brings them to mind I would say that's gotta be more compliment than insult. But then again I like Sabaton. Similarly, I have seen others bring Nightwish to mind regarding BB music. I can see and understand why people think such things, there certainly are musical similarities with the bands all being European Powermetal, sometimes with symphonic elements and female lead singer from Finland like old Nightwish. They use the same set of instruments with heavy use of synth ect. However, my only gripe with such comments is that in the details the bands and their music are in reality not actually the same. - The Battle Beast vocals have gotta be about an octave higher than the singer in Sabaton. - All Sabaton songs follow pretty much the same Powermetal formula and are about the same subject, war. Battle Beast on the other hand are very diverse in their musical styles and have lyrical themes about different subjects. - Unlike Nightwish which is mainly classical style vocals Battle Beast is pretty much traditional rock and metal vocal style. BB incorporates symphonic orchestral elements into a few of their songs (which happen to be the singles people know) but for the most part BB isn’t a symphonic metal band. I could go on and on listing the specific details in which the bands are different from each other but for the sake of length I wont, you probably already get my point. In summary, on the surface level sure similarity’s, but in the details people should not think the bands literally are ‘the same’.
