Ive been liking PTA more vs Tanks and other more specific matchups because it gives you more damage when you need it as a tank and it synergizes with Titanic really well. Also PTA is more useful outside of lane

Sometimes I feel like heartsteel wouldn’t be a good item because they have champions with max hp shred so the effects of having so much hp wouldn’t be as impactful. Especially in the Gwen game as she can shred me no matter what

How do you maintain your tunnel networks in lane? I find that as soon as I place them my enemy laner makes it there soul purpose in life to destroy them LOL
Similar to control wards they are something you need to constantly contest against your enemy laner. A lot of times if you place them towards your tower they will have to take a beating from you in order to take the tunnel without any turret shots. Trying trading in a way where you can save your tunnel unless absolutely necessary so when you leave the trade they will try to stand on it and destroy while you can regenerate hp with passive and then push for another trade immediately since they have to commit to the tunnel. You just need lane pressure for tunnels, it’s okay to lose them if you aren’t overextended

Going fleet to survive lane better but you lose damage because you are biding time for titanic and heart steel. Unfortunately she shreds you with or without hp so I go PTA so I have kill pressure back on her. If you let her scale she will just shred you instead

A lot of times feeling it out but general run down is matchups that are hard you go fleet, if not you can go PTA vs tank champs or matchups you are comfortable in

It’s true that bruiser rek’sai critically lacks damage compared to other bruisers. If you enter mid game without a lead you are useless you can’t even burst an adc
Naaaah baby! AP reksai is the best thing in the game! The only thing I would change is that W knock up rate would scale with rank just like udyr e stun does.
To describe rek sai right now it's: "good at everything, but best at nothing" She really is in a bad spot cause of the missing of a clear role. And i think currently the champion lack damage scaling. Riot destroyed her AD scaling, put AP because why not but the AP scaling is so low that it's not usable and she don't have any hp scaling. I began the game with rek sai as assassin and i kind of miss it it, but i understand the changes made by riot on her aspect making her more of a bruiser tank, but she don't have the tools to do it as a jarvan, w
I play her as a supp and all I need is faster passive healing, but she does need the true damage on e, all bruises need armor pen in a way, that's why all have it, all but reksai
My issue with current rek'sai is that alot of her kit is just all numbers and no fun gimmick besides the burrow. my proposed changes for reksai (some inspired by other comments) are: more "at max fury" effects on other abilities. this only affects the unborrowed skills because being underground eats fury for healing already so that has hard implications on how she is played wanting to keep max fury instead of weaving burrows. and since were doing less burrowing, less power on that healing would be an ok nerf. also this is to circumvent that evolution thing because while i agree that void champs should have an evolution mechanic, rek'sai (as already mentioned by someone else) is already fully adapted to runeterra so drastic evolutions would go counter to that. max fury ~= non-permanent evolution mechanic maybe q gets wider range, idk its already in a decent state so dont wanna rock that boat. E already has max fury interaction so i would just go with your changes (lower bases + hp scaling). Maybe max fury R gets a heal on kill or an execute idk. now max fury W gets interesting (in addition to your reduced knock-up cooldown scaled by hp change). When you burrow while at max fury, your next unborrow spawns xer'sai (1 + number of champions knocked up), that copy your q, e, and r (no max fury tho). they function mostly like yorick ghouls that act like naafi dogs, attacking whatever they want close-by unless you hit a champion which they then target. their hp and duration scales with your hp. they also burrow when you burrow but that doesnt do anything (besides looking like a cute family of void sandsharks out for a swim) imma be real wit you chief, the more i wrote this the less i thought "this would fix rek'sai" and more "man this would be such a cool rek'sai" soooooo take that i guess

If they remake her i want her W to have an evolution too, Going burrowed makes her more tankier or make it act like mini thornmail passive attacking her while burrowed deflects some dmg back to the attacker and W2 (successful airborne) summons one minion per enemy champion and adds one more per 1k hp and her Q2 should not be AP dmg but instead AD or scales with HP and also have an evolution, Q1 evolution will make it longer duration instead of 3 attacks or just remove the duration and make Q1 empowered until she used all 3 attacks, Her E1 should also have an evolution, normal E1 needs full rage to have execute, Evolved E1 no longer needs Full rage to execute but acts like Pyke ult or like chogath's ult, normal E2 just as it is but evolved E2 makes her minions also use the tunnel as they follow her through it and finally her ult As it is but she can use it again on her tunnels so it will have 2 cooldowns one for champions and one for her tunnels

here's my reksai rework that keeps all her abilities, so riot doesn't have to change the animations, but shifts them in a more health focused/tanky direction: She should have minions and the total number of minions she has at a time scales with her health (maybe 1 extra minion per 1000 health), they follow her and assist with attacking giving her better wave clear her unborrowed Q does exactly what it does but also makes the minions attack faster when burrowed her Q shoots the minions as her projectiles and she can fire them in quick succession, When she hits something with it the minion will attack and chase what she hits dealing max health percent damage, The more minions you shoot at a target the more they get whittled down through stacking percent health damage, when the minion dies it is gone for good until she makes another with her E She makes minions by using her E, when she uses her E on a minion she will eat the minion and restore some health, and create a little reksai spawn, if she kills a champion or large jungle monster with her Q she gets two spawns instead Finally I think her ultimate should execute past a certain threshold but also create a large AOE knock up around her target making it more devastating in team fights (maybe the execute is to much but it is flavorful) I think these changes keep her in the realm of a slow burn tank or bruiser with offensive pressure, better sustain, and plays into her supportive role by giving her another knock up aside from her unburrow, and these are changes they could make right now because they don't alter the animations aside from adding minions
unfortunately champs with low playrate dont really get much consideration from riot interms of mini reworks and reworks, they tend to listen to the dedicated playerbase less when the champ is unpopular like for example how new skarner is completely different to old skarner, and how rengar rework got changed due to how much more popular the champion is
I can't agree with much of what was said in this video, as I never liked the assassin aspect of Rek'Sai and only built her as a bruiser even before the rework. But I completely agree with the words about weakening her passive and E, although I think that the percentage damage from her HP should not be on E, where there is already a percentage damage from enemy HP, but on W. And, although I did not catch her old ult, I think they can bring it back, but when teleporting she gets two xersai like in her spotlight, which would be something between Yorick maiden and Naafiri dogs in strength. Overall, I really liked the rework, thanks to which she became very comfortable to play in any role. But its good only from the point of a juggernaut playstyle enjoyer, when pickrate proves that overall nothing really changed. Also I don't understand why people want to implement her evolution mechanics when she is essentially a voidboomer who has fully adapted to a certain environment and doesn't even expand her hunting grounds so much. I would give her something like warwick q on her unborrowed e when youll get heal scaling with bonus hp and take away some damage from it.
The problem is that they butchered back in 7.11. She used to have a very clear identity, a territorial control jungler who was very durable and had a lot of backloaded damage. Her E used to do a %percentage of her total AD as physical, ramping up to double the minimum damage as true damage on Max Fury. This fury mechanic worked similarly to Renekton's Fury. Back then, she used to have an above 5% pick rate (above average). For example,. As of 14.20, Darius has a 5.5% pick rate, the same as Volibear, Lilia, and Skarner. She used to be played reasonably well, but she was in pro-jail because of her TP ultimate. Then they decided to get her out of pro by killing her identity and changing her to a diver/assassin. People overlook the problem that she wasn't designed to be an assassin. She was a tanky fighter with durability from her passive and relatively low damage that only spiked after staking full Fury for a true damage E. This not only killed her play rate but also completely tore her apart. Her kit wasn't of an assassin, no matter how much damage it did. She was very unsatisfying to play when everyone else could assassinate better than her, more efficiently, while being far more slippery than she could ever dream of being. When I saw the changes in 13.11, I was excited because I've always wanted to play old Rek'sai and not the one that was available then, but they continue to refuse to make the right changes. Her Fury passive should be stacked slower. The E true damage was balanced back then because it took a while to stack it to full, just like how Renekton's Fury needs to be staked before combat so he can use more than just one empowered ability per trade or all-in. But now she stacks full Fury in 3 hits, and because of that, they removed the true damage because of how accessible the maximum damage is. It should be obvious that her release version worked wonderfully, especially because her ult did no damage. Now her E does an auto-attack worth of damage; only at max Fury does it do something else, just max health physical damage, but it has a 10-second cooldown. Garen Q does a lot more damage and gives him movement speed, a slow cleanse, and an 8-second cooldown. Her ultimate is an execute, but she doesn't play for an execute like Garen or Darius, so more often than not, it's just a glorified gap closer. If only they could revert her Fury passive and E to how they used to be before her first rework, she would be everything every rek'sai enjoyer ever dreamed of having. But they won't because they don't want to return to how things used to be. They want to do their own thing with questionable degrees of success.
I agree with all of this. Only want to point out that neither her nor garen have an execute as those are defined by sure hit kills. I know people don't like the semantics but personally I believe we should call a spade a spade. Missing health damage ≠ execute. Apologies, I don't want to fight but I did want to say my piece.
