Cross Sections for Driveway, Culvert & Sign Section Sheets
Переглядів 951Рік тому
This video will demonstrate how to create cross sections using the "2-Point" option inside of the Named Boundary tool. This is useful for doing driveway sections, culvert sections and sign sections.

Whats the method to get a pattern show up correctly in a 1:1 sheet model?
Which book is this
you sir are a savior
Thank you so much!
Thank you!!!
voice is too low. Thanks
very helpful. Thanks a lot!
How do you create driveway cross sections in ORD to include plan view? Does MoDot require Plan view with their special sheets DW sections?
thanks! very helpful!
Thanks helped me a lot!
Thanks for the video. Is there any way to batch mask by placing plenty of small fences and mask all items at one go?
omg. it so complicatet we just need more simple designing option and then we can build on top of that if nessesary
I do not have hgl/egl display settings in properties of my stormwater conduit. How do I add this so I show can HGL/EGL on profile?
Has Bentley addressed these problems in their latest version 10.12.02.04 as of May 2024?
you can place a fence on a sheet file as well.
How do you create the print set?
I was on the verge of kicking my computer trying to figure this out. THANK YOU
Thanks for these videos! They are so helpful. Does MoDOT have a video on selecting the best runoff coefficients for the drainage areas? I typically create a shape for impervious and pervious and use 0.9 for pavement and 0.4 for non-pavement. But I’d like to use MoDOT’s urban/rural selections, but I’m not sure how to use them. If it’s a rural area, do you still divide your area up into pervious and impervious and use a mix of urban and rural selections? Or do you use one area, and the rural selections account for a minimum amount of pavement?
This was helpful for me to cut a couple cross sections at specific locations rather than using station range. I only wish they would of kept the old Microstation (Geopak) way of cutting cross sections. Microstation was so much simpler at reviewing cross section and actual drafting.
Thanks for the video! When I attach references in View 1, the window is set to default and I can see my attachments as expected. When I try to use the View Control tool to open a plan/3d views, View 2 is blank unless I make new attachments while having View 2 selected (and it is in default-3d instead of default). Is that right for me to do, or have I created twice as many references as needed; one for the default model and one for the 3d.
Thank you for this tutorial
How do you set up the dgnlib? I do all these steps and then it gives error can't find the lib file
Thank you, clear and straight to the point.
How do I do a "reverse" clip mask where I want to mask everything OUTSIDE the boundary instead of inside? Edit: nvm I found it. It's called "Reference Clip".
Thank you so much. I have been having a hard time finding some staight forward explanation of tools. All the microstation videos I find cover such broad topics and dont get to the point.
Not sure if the author read this after 3 years, but i've got some questions about the Floodplain option at 5.15 in the video. in that case, when the lanes are rotated to, lets say 8%, around the EOP_Right, the centerline should theoretically rise above the actual alignment+profile height. When i'm trying to do this, the centerline stays always attached at the profile height, and thus lowering the EOP_R below the floodplain. Is there a special way to setup the template for an undivided crowned to have the option for the CL, which is the baseline for the template, to be able to rise above the actual profile?
Hi, 1st point i.e. Fill slope T is member of Fill slope and 1st point of 2nd component i.e. Ditch fore slope T is member of Ditch. But after sometime, Ditch fore slope T vanishes and Fill slope T becomes member of Fill and Ditch! Why is that so? and by the way, content taught is very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks sir, :)
Great video!
Excellent vid. Thanks!
is changing the length and offset is a big no? and why can't be modified!
Named void sounds great roadway plan production
Why do we need another space place text or dim instead default. Is this just going to increase size file. Why not use saved view
Am I missing in any of these videos where it's shown how to get pipe profiles onto sheets? Is there an automatic way with ORD or same way we are used to with civilstorm?
Hello, I am also trying to figure out how to bring conduits on the roadway profile sheets. If you know a way can you please tell me.
@@hrutujachaudhari1757 you can cut a x-section the same way you would with a roadway section or do it through the profile view. this video from FDOT helped- ua-cam.com/video/fgIAHeuQe6s/v-deo.html
All I want it to do is behave like AutoCAD perpendicular snap (i.e., I want to start my line in space somewhere and end my line perpendicular to another line, not begin it that way). This seems so backwards and Bentley is all like "we don't support that" when AutoCAD has had it since at least R14 over 25 years ago.
Well mine is greyed out and there is no answer on the internet. Ridiculous. And letting ads run in their videos is even more ridiculous.
Hi I work as a surveyor for NYSDOT. We have been told to migrate to ORD without being supplied any instructions at all. What you are showing in this video is exactly what I need to know. Can I get that instruction manual you are referencing so I can get myself set up to convert old jobs to ORD ? I have no support from anyone on how to do this Thanks
Please can you share files used in the tutorials
I’ve been asked to convert an ORD file back to a 2d SS10. Is that possible?
can you change/edit the feature definition of a hw after youve already placed it? for instance if the hw was 24" but now its supposed to be a 48"
Yes you can change the physical properties of the HW, however you must also change the utility/drainage properties as they are not co-linked (in 2020 version they may have updated that for more recent versions)
Also, does the program compute or warn of overtopping of road and/or set a minimum design constraint for freeboard? Does it also connect the downstream swale hydraulics into the culvert beginning HGL calcs?
where and how are you setting your starting HGL elevation for your outfall?
When looking at the utility properties of the inlet, since the placement was referencing the surface, wouldnt the software know if it is at a sag and assign the "inlet location" to sag? And then if you chnage it manually, how does that jive with the surface being referenced?
That was a great video. Thanks !
I am lost at the first step..... Where I can find my sheet index?
😢 promosm
What’s the name of this manual/book? And where can I get it? Thank you
Is that excel file accessible to the public?
At 25:50 you mention changing the ground elevation from the invert elevation to model the opening. However, when I change the ground elevation, the invert elevation changes with it. Is there a way to unlink the invert from the ground?
the only way i've found is to change the elevation in the profile view
Great video. Also, using a profile will give the same result if you use "Profile By 3D Cut" in the profile window.
Using this method, after a while certain text or cells would no longer show up in the sheet. No reason they just wouldn't show. Had to go back and place a sheet border cell in the default model. So use at your own risk. After recreating the sheet boundary certain objects just wouldn't come through.
