The new MA61 Supra Part 3

Well part 3 is about starting to attack the rust, it's as bad and as good as I was expecting. There is a fair bit of work to do there, but completely savable and should be saved. Next part will be getting a clean and tidy through the interior, seats out, carpet out among other things. Then to the swing arm! "Heeeeeeeeeeeey Batter, batter, batter, batter, swing, batter, he can't hit, he can't hi...

Well we get to unwrap the car this time and get to see what we've got. A lot of issues and rust, but also a very original and complete car..... quite happy about where it is at to be honest.

No seriously it has paddle shifts....like a Ferrari! but the rest is not particularly Ferrari like I will agree. Such a fun French car, I can't see why they didn't sell so well over here.....this is definitely a summer car to have..... bring on the beach weather in summer! I am eyeing up my next purchases...... A Merc E500, a VW CC, a Audi TT..... tell what I should buy!

Top gear. Part two
Were you able to fix the roof? what was the problem? and how much did it cost?
This video is fking hilarious. My mother in law just gifted me her c3 pluriel, I'm picking it up tomorrow. Thanks for the info and the giggles
You’re lovely! Really enjoyed to watch this video. Thank you 😊
I bought one of these last year. 2006 for £700 with 130k and fullservice history. Had a rocker cover seal go which was easy to fix.the roof had an issue where it wouldnt shut but then managed to shut but wouldnt open.suspected a sticky roof lock but manual unlock didnt work.turned out the roof cable for the rear roof locks got unseated so wouldnt release the rear lock. Easy fix. Worst thing was the locking wheel nuts got rounded, had to weld /drill them out.get rid asap it you have them on yours.recently just went through mot and sailed through with a few adviseries. I realky like the car.
I miss my 85 ma61 P-Type so much. I got rear ended by some kid on his phone 12 years ago and haven't had anything half as fun since.
Just bought one a month ago in Melbourne at auction. Thanks for sharing. Actually a manual.
Any updates on what happened with this beast?
Hi, which edition is this one? Seems to be very nice!!
mine has the Blaupunkt 5 cd changer sterio

Part 4?
Sexy car. I own a black one with red leather interior. I get compliments All the time. It's rough and needs work but I will pump dollars into it as it's totally worth it as it's a sexy beast.

SORRY BUT ANNOYING AND YOU ARE DEFINITELY NOT FUNNY.
I see you are also missing back light cover, well I lost left and right just by 3 years. It is almost impossible to find any complete set, each cost me about 180€ even this tiny plexi-glass cost no more than 5€. Thumb down for this Peugeot.

Same happen to me I lost one side and put lens tape then decided to reseal other side before I lost it too. I drove too hardware and bought sealant but it was a wet day so I said I will do it Tomorrow when dry. Would u believe it 2 days later when I decide to stick the remaining lens, to my horror it too had fallen off.
Hey can you help pls what do you think this car would fit for a 192cm tall man or not?
You would fit :) im taller and have one
Im 180cm and i have loads of room,if its tight for you you can always put the roof down😉
how do you find the ride? ,my 2017 is quite rough but still lov it
The ride is great, I liked it. For a sports car I didn’t find the ride harsh at all.
cheap plastic ! :/
Hi Chris. I bought a 2007 307cc with 120k on it 2 weeks ago as a first car for my daughter. I was looking for a convertible car for her-you know teenager ,she has to enjoy her first car-. It took me almost 2 months to find a dissent one, not because they are crapy cars as many say but because most because the used cars previous owners use to hide things from the buyers. Any way 99% of my friends, people I know and most of the mechanics said that I shouldn't buy a Peugeot and especially a cc. My argument especially with the mechanics was "oh, you have lots of cars here for repairs like holdens, fords, hondas etc, how many are peugeuts? none?why?". I understand that the most relaiable cars are the japanese and mostly Toyotas and Mazdas but that doesn't means that all the other cars are garbage. I already have a toyota and a mazda with 270k which runs like a charm. Anyway opinions are like a@holes, everyone has one. If you take good care of your car it will last for ages. As for the driver's door that is a common problem with the 307 and 308 cc because most of the drivers use to hold on the door when they get out of the car and since the door is already very heavy they push the hinges down. Easy to fix it if you know how or just spray some lithium grease and problem solved. This is how you kill the screaming bay seal. Some things I realized about this car are: a very small oil leak from the transmission gasket which is common problem for these engines which is not a big thing to worry about, the driver's door as we mention above, the paint and the acceleration. Regarding the pain, is a hard and thick paint so many of these cars have no major problems with the paint even after so many years from the production date, so if you want to get rid of the scratches you have to use a good hard cut. But if there is some clear coat exfoliation you have to take care of it asap. The car (mine is 2 liters 143hp) is a bit heavy so the acceleration is not what I was expected BUT I suspect that it has an adaptive transmission so when I bought it from the previous owner (a middle age lady, easy driver) the acceleration was very disappointed but after 2 week driven by my daughter the acceleration has been improved. If you don't want to wait for a few hundreds kms for the transmission behavior to be changed and adapt to your driving habits you can always reset the ECU by yourself by taking of the leads of the battery and drain the system from all the electricity by turn on the lights' switches and push the brakes a few times. I bought it for 6500$ including vicroads transfer fees, two new tail lights and roadworthy which I think is a good price for this car at this time with all the inflation regarding the used cars prices, with leather interior in exceptional condition, no mechanical problems at all and with great exterior condition. So guys, If you find a good one with no problems go for it. Just one thing to remember though, hard to find and expensive parts if you will have an accident.
I agreed! I want to buy this car next month. Most people told me for i dont buy a Peugeot car. This make me feel so mad, becouse this is my dream car! AFF cant wait to drive It!
@@sailormoon2573 before you buy it take it to a mechanic for inspection .If he will start bumbling about the make or the model just ask him to do the inspection and nothing else, you dont care about his opinion anyway. Good luck and enjoy!
@@sailormoon2573 Yea, yea, the old "don't buy Peugeot" thing.... If it is well maintained, a Peugeot can last a lot... I have a 19 years old sh peugeot 307 that I bought very cheap and 40000 km later, it is amazing.
Cool video man. I've got a ra60 celica that I'm restoring so I'm really interested to see what you do about the rust.
Some people claim these as one of the worst cars ever made ; lol I’m working on the C3 1.6 litre non- pluriel model but essentially the same ; I know a few things about this car now ; one thing I will mention is the clutch actuators on these things jam up these are a manual transmission with Automatic function ; car stalls little snowflake ❄️ light comes up ! The fix is you get under the hood take the boot off the actuator spray some lithium lubricant ! These cars are 0-100 klm/hr in around 12 seconds ; you can kick these down to get some power out of them LOL 😂 but no thanks
What do you mean by kick these down?
Oops Chris you omitted to wipe down with wax and grease remover, also you touched it with your fingers, sure way to put sweat and grease on spoiler ,
For the button, no i always imagine that you push your roof (the button actually) backward (up in your vision) to get it in the trunk

I having problem with roof also , I need a set of cog (roof parts) I am from Asia.
Good luck on that one, I never pulled mine apart, it didn't work when I got it, but a fresh battery and some spray lubricant in the roof runners got it all working. You might have to leave your roof closed!
Love how the front windows open forward
But did you watch the whole thing?
Ahahahahhahahhahahah booklets. So many... Hahahha Thunderstorm hhhhhhh
Enjoyed the video Chris!
I subbed from the group. 🥂
Haha you can't your hand accident push up the roof switch right? That's why safety first 👍
Arrrgh that makes a lot of sense!

Can’t wait to see more! My Aunty had a car like that, it was red and have fond memories as a kid in her car :)

I have the same but in orange!! I definitely like it!!!! It is a surprising, very pleasant car from Citroën
LOL 😂 just wait hahaha 🤣 they are junk
That would make a great wedding vehicle if you know anyone!
Nah I got nothing....
Hi there from Greece. 😉🇬🇷 I own the same 307cc for a year and let me tell you it's a headturner. 😁 It's a very nice car for traveling or hanging around with the roof down. You must open your roof every now and then to maintain all the system working. Please considering lubrication every e.g. 4-5 months. It's very cheap and very easy to keep it shiny and new. Best wishes from me, the emotions you will have with this car are limitless. 🌟 I own a 307cc fan page on Facebook under the name "Peugeot 307cc World". Please join us there and be one of us. Also if you want find me on Facebook with my name "Altinakis George" to see my love for this car. Enjoy life! 🍀🌟💪🙂

Very good engine and good car overall.. I have a second hand 307 hatchback with 2.0 hdi from 2003, very good car. But be careful, these engines are not so water friendly, especially because 307 is very sensitive with the electronic part...
I’m not planning on taking it swimming. This one is a 2L petrol, runs great.
@@chrissimpson4051 I was referring to the fact that you washed the engine, in this sense. :)
@@deiu9999 arrrgh right right, nah all good there, definitely needed a clean there! Still need to cut and polish it, roof is now working, new tyres on soon!
@@chrissimpson4051 Hehe, all right then.. I am waiting for the second part. 😁
