Discovered this park, Kayashima Higashi Park while walking yesterday. Right next to the canal and the freeway, and it is elevated so has a nice view of the city. Several benches and two don’t have the anti-human bars. Very peaceful park.

The root issue is not drinking but your outlook on life. I'm very negative and it always affects my relationships. I need to remind myself every day, multiple times a day to be positive when I speak and act. Alcohol is just a catalyst to your mental state. I try and often fail to remain stoic and avoid saying regretful things. People think the alcohol is the problem but it's really depression.

@user-dr9gl3ob4k I know….just been procrastinating! Hey, so far I’ve had only delicious coffee here, and this place was extra good, because I had my first (two) Phin brew coffees. It’s a small metal container similar to a French press that the grounds are placed in and boiling water poured over. The coffee then drips into a glass. Excellent!

I live nearby and this is a decent mall, the Pizza 4Ps pizzeria is quite good, if not expensive. The screen flickering has nothing to do with your camera, it's the LED driver frequency of the lighting. Poor quality or under 60hz causes this. I've never stepped foot in a bus as they only recently got fancy electric buses. They used to have old Korean run down buses. I can't wait until they unveil the underground metro. I designed the lighting in the Ben Thanh station 6 years ago.
I had a feeling the lighting in the museum was causing it, just had not researched it, so thank you! I’ve been riding the D4 bus around and love it. Riders are expected to be silent, and that suites me well. Yeah, I saw the Metro stations and that will be awesome! Any idea of when the go live date is for the Metro? Will check out the Pizza 4Ps… walked past it and noted it; just have not been in yet.

You might want to get prescription glasses or non-prescription. Massages are great and cheap too, try the Golden Lotus in Japantown. Been in Saigon for 9 years. You overpaid for the weasel coffee. Ben Thanh market is a tourist trap to avoid. It's a form of torture for me. However, there is a Trung Nguyen Legend coffee shop right in front which does serve genuine weasel coffee. Cross the street while being predictable in your movement, make sure to make eye contact as much as possible and never back-up. Restaurants written "Cay to" are dog restaurants. They're rare in downtown Saigon. Visit the Russian market instead.
Yeah, funny thing about the coffee, I was with two locals and they didn’t say anything. Afterwards I priced it on Amazon and couldn’t believe how I got took! I can only imagine my associates didn’t know either. I paid 350,000 vnd for a full body, hot stone massage yesterday. Seemed like a great deal. Same in J-town? I’m still terrified about crossing the street in this traffic; feels like if I go for it like the locals I will get caught slippin and end up in the hospital. So I wait until it’s reasonably clear!
How do you manage to stay here long term? I’m retired and would love to stay, but looks bleak.

I'm married to a Vietnamese woman here so I can get a temporary residency visa which lasts several years without having to leave Vietnam. Try the foot massage in golden lotus, it's almost the same price and they also do your neck and shoulders, I prefer it to the body massage. They have a website. It's in J-town where everything is much more expensive but it's still decent. I usually go to get japanese food at Torisho (slightly overrated) or Sakaba Le Tan Ton where they have great chicken heart, liver, skin, etc. skewers. Try pasteur brewery for craft beer if you're into that. I had a great coffee porter many years ago there. Heart of Darkness brewery is good too. I like to get their sampler traysBanh cuon hai nam is a great restaurant. Try Cô Liên Bò Lá Lốt for juicy meat wrapped inside betel leaves. I can teach you how to cross the street if you want.

The answer is neither. I have worked the steps several times in different Anonymous programs. Every persons program is there own. There is no right way or wrong way. The rooms are great for the new comers it gives them a place to be around people like themselves. I have also stepped away from the rooms, I give back in other ways. What the Anonymous programs do not teach is how to live life without a meeting every day, when life starts to show up and slap you in the face. Sometimes having one or two people that you are close to that know you can help its harder when you trust no one. One is too many and a thousand is never enough.
Thank you. As I progress in this journey, I’m becoming aware that my “Recovery” began 18 years ago when I attended my first meeting in downtown Sacramento. This highs and lows since then were the journey. And the work during that time and that I continue to do allowed me to access the consciousness that I am. To see reality as it is, and by that, to gain peace of my and happiness, despite the life circumstances. That is recovery to me. Alcohol was never the problem, unconsciousness was. Disconnection from the One that we all are.
