I basically said exactly the same thing on a FB post. But people do react to big percentage increases. Say a coffee increase from $5 to $10 dollars, it is only a $5 increase, but people see 100% incease. That is just human nature.... 😂

Hey Jake I’m a wedding videographer I’ve been using bark and consistently get about 2 weddings a month from Bark averaging about 3,000 per wedding depending on packages should I switch to HoneyBook? Also bro the last few videos have been awesome you guys are killing it!!

I wasn't concerned either I am looking for a platform that is more team friendly I can't add a team member of mine to honey book without them being able to see how much I charge the client and that kills the communication for me and have me doing more then I should. Any recommendations? I would love to add team members of mine to projects they are assigned to without having to know all of the unnecessary things

Jake, what do you think about the people that say HB is a nightmare from client's perspective? I personally haven't seen any issues with this but it's a major talking point of people who don't like HoneyBook

Honeybook robs you not only in fees but now they are raising their mai prices. I give honeybook almost 1000-1500 in payment fees every year

IMO the real problem with HoneyBook is that emails goes to spam folder (making people lose clients) the emails looks like an email inside another email and the biggest issue for me is when working with planners they hate HoneyBook because you have to enter a portal to access contracts and if they also use HoneyBook can access to your internal data. Which is not good. Is not hating is just real complaints and when you add a price increase and those issues aren’t solved that’s when I started looking other options.

I get the face value frustration, but I completely agree with you. Consider the actual time it would take to switch from a core platform like HoneyBook and the opportunity cost of what you could be doing instead. Actually quantify the time it would take to research a new system, deactivate HoneyBook, learn the new platform, and migrate all your clients, that time in money saved likely amounts to far less than what you'd make working a minimum wage job. And most of us have a much higher dollar-per-hour value than that. And if you don’t, it's worth reflecting on how to change that. Like Alex Hormozi says "Strategy is how you choose to allocate your limited resources against unlimited options."

I wasn't that concerned about the increase, but I've been thinking about switching to something else for a while now and this just pushed me over the edge. HB is free to increase their prices of course, but what they do isn't all that special and other services offer the same thing for less. Businesses gonna business.

The thing is that the industry is being flooded with all types of people as the technology and the knowledge gets more accessible. I just focus on ME because at this point even having basic common sense is a competitive advantage. Plus people get SUPPEEEERRR defensive when you try to give them advise. I say let them switch.

Great video! I'm working through your modules and haven't gotten to the full audio section yet. Do you recommend the Tentacle sync over the Tascam DR 10L Pro's ? I purchased the latter about a year ago and it has been great, but I've been hearing lots of buzz over Tentacle sync. The phone feature seems to be easy to use as well.

That's exactly how I do it. I usually use the rubber bumblebee custom cover with a rycote. I've had those bumble bee stickies come loose before, so now I'm 100% rycote. I'll also add a windcover if it's windy out.

So the reusable plastic bubblebee mic protector works with these, or do you not use it anymore? I looked it up and it seems like they have a few for a few different lav mics, but not the Tascam or the Tentacle lav mics.

I use my kislux as a work bag and have had no issues at all. It’s a comfortable bag, fits a good amount and hadn’t lost its shape. With that being said, I also take care of all my bags and don’t carry a water bottle, pens, keys or anything that can damage the interio
