Pere Marquette 1225, the locomotive in the Polar Express. Is a N1 class 2-8-4 Berkshire built in 1941 by Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio for a cost $200,000 to build, ($3,519,005 in current dollars). PM 1225 pulled freight trains for the Pere Marquette Railway later Chesapeake And Ohio Railway until early 1950s. In 1951, the C&O Railway retired 1225 from work revenue serivce. PM 1225 was donated to Michigan State University in 1957. In 1969, a group of MSU students formed the Michigan State University Railroad Club. The goal of restoring PM 1225 to run again. In November 1985 is ran under its own power after 34 years. One of her most memorable trips happen, In August 1991, 1225 along with NKP 765 pulled a 31-car passenger train during the National Railway Historical Society's annual convention in Huntington, West Virginia. Dude I am so impressed. I mean, the first two videos have been awsome enough but with this one, you have outdone yourself. What you have created is not just a simple Polar Express remake. You created what so many Polar Express Fans hope for in vain: THE POLAR EXPRESS 2. And as far as I can tell by the end, it seems that the story is not completed yet, who knows? I guess we have to wait and see how things turn out. Again I want to say thank you for this epic Trilogy and I wish a you a very merry Christmas and a good start into the New Year :)
