The only reason why Vice City blew up to that size was due to disc access and loading times. R* made some redundant assets to aid in getting the game to load and streaming things as fast as possible. Other than that the game only took up a gigabyte or so.

One rather dark piece of lost media that has actually been found but is nevertheless interesting is _1985_ , a 1970 made-for-television mockumentary produced by Metromedia Group depicting a hypothetical near-future environmental catastrophe brought on by unchecked industrialization. The film was presented as a simulated newscast, with real-life Metromedia newscasters, including a young Maury Povich, playing themselves. Essentially, the purpose of the film was to demonstrate what would happen if then-current environmental trends were to continue into the ensuing decade, as this was back when very few Americans took the issue of environmental protection seriously and the EPA had only just been created. Despite heavy promotion, the film was only broadcast twice, possibly because audiences found the whole thing too depressing and/or horrifying to sit through. This left the film out of public circulation for years until the University of California, Berkeley obtained a copy at some point and added it to their digital archives. The circumstances of how it fell into obscurity despite being heavily promoted and how UC Berkeley obtained their copy are definitely worthy of investigation by the lost media community. are we sure that surviving Titanic footage is of the Titanic and not Olympic? as its 1st class promenade is open whereas on Titanic it was enclosed and with the nameplate unintelligible I think there may have been a mix up or confusion. I would also like to add that there is a good chance little to no footage of the Titanic exists as despite our contemporary fame given to the ship, before the sinking Olympic was the much more famous ship, in fact a lot of the photos we have of the two ships are of Olympic as during the time the tabloids were much more likely to film and photograph the ship that had been in service for a year and carried movie stars and famous folks and had garnered a reputation of luxury while the Titanic would've just been seen as the other ship so outside of naval circles i don't believe there was a lot of enthusiasm.

Why doesn't this have more views

There are more reasons than file degradation as to why those film reels if they existed are lost. Fire, theft, poor storage, and recycling for silver content all play parts. How to even store film was in its infancy and not everyone thought that is was necessary to even bother.

Hitogata will always be one of the most interesting cases of (possibly not real) lost media I've seen. Its spooky, but it seems like its a case of people trying to scare a message into you and not just traumatize people for no reason. I like the theory that its a commercial about being safe around railways.
