You the goat for this one bro ✅
I assume the Levoit (VeSync) app is the same across all models? If it's a non-smoking house and no pets, it would be great if the filters could somehow be inspected to see if they need replacing. Just based on calendar or hours used is not a good proxy. BTW, based on how well they clean, and filter-cost I was considering: Clorox Smart Air Purifier (Model 11011) Nuwave OxyPure ZERO (Model 47251) Morento (Model 3C9BD5-7EE30F-F3C / HY4866-WF ) Kenmore Smart PM4030 / 2300e Levoit 600S Coway AP-1512HH (No Wifi) Of the many Shark products ( HP302 , HC502 , HP201 , HP202), not sure which can meet the California clean-air requirements.. HP302, HC502? But non have a Wifi app option. The Coway 400S is a bit too expensive, and the cost of replacement filter for the Medify MA-112 is ridiculous!
W video man, and it was funny asf love it!
this was manic and confusing sorry. i don't understand how you graded odor especially when this 20:29 is graded C for Odor but in another moment you call it best for odor. Totally confused. And I can't remember the topic but at one point you downplayed something then said "We'll give it an A anyway." So confusing

8:30 "Todd" want talking about the vital 200s. but the CORE 200 series
I just ordered the 600s for an Xmas present to myself and girlfriend for £200 (as new on amazon), but now I'm thinking due to size (i do not have a huge flat) I should get an as new 400s for £126 instead - especially since I personally do a lot soldering and 3d printing, which is helped by the charcoal. Hmm. Not sure. Help me decide habibi 😂 Also, I am not sure your air pressure setup tests pressure, because you used an airflow sensor, not a pressure sensor. Great setup and video though! ❤
i think the 400s would be great and idk if i misspoke and said air pressure but meant air flow instead!
Omg my new favorite tech/product reviewer! Hope this channel grows. I wanna try to watch every vid
thank you so much!
As a gamer, i enjoyed the review.
I have my core mini-p on 3 24/7 I might need to get a bigger one because even though it does pick up a decent amount of dust I feel like my room accumulates more than it filers for some reason. Not sure why since I barely open my windows and always have the ceiling fan on low as well.
The vital 200s is the best value for the dollar. I almost always run it on the 2 highest speeds 24/7 I have 3 in my home (bedroom, kitchen, livingroom.)
is this now a true HEPA filter in 2024? considering the issue last 2023?
Great content. You should have way more subscribers. Subbed!
Exceptional work! Great job! Keep it up!
thank you for the video it was very helpful
Great video, can you make one on hardfloor/wooden cleaners?
Man, great video dude. Where da Heck you been with these reviews 😂🎉
Great reviews, on par and EXCEEDED with your carbon investigation with other credible UA-cam ‘legacy’ reviewers! (I have always been surprised that most ignore the amount, I too have had to reach out to the brand, leaning to a distrust why are many unwilling to share their filters content?) However, I think you missed one of the best units that frequently tops value-focused lists: the Winix 5500-2. This purifier is often rated #1 or Best Buy or Best Overall for value due to its: • 250 CFM airflow, ensuring rapid air turnover. • Three separate filters, including a washable pre-filter and a washable pellet-based carbon filter, which prolongs the life of the True HEPA filter. (Always prioritize True HEPA over proprietary filters; some top brands, like Dyson and Levoit have been caught misleading consumers about their filters’ quality.) Winix’s setup ensures: 1. Efficient and proper filtration order: Pre-filters catch large particles, carbon traps VOCs, and the HEPA captures fine particles. 2. Independent filter replacement: Unlike compact all-in-ones, this setup avoids VOCs being re-released into the air when saturated carbon filters aren’t replaced separately (most have so little carbon or mesh that they saturate in a matter of weeks but still run for another 5 months.) 3. PlasmaWave technology: While not an ionizer, it meets California’s strict air quality standards, producing no ozone. Although high-end purifiers with thicker HEPA filters or 15 lbs of carbon may outperform it in small spaces, the 5500-2’s superior airflow means you can cover more area (e.g., a 300 sq. ft. space in ~15 minutes). In larger spaces, using two units strategically can outperform even premium systems. Lastly, to maximize air quality: • Pair your purifier with a sealed vacuum with HEPA filtration to prevent redistributing allergens. • Regularly ventilate your space with fresh air when conditions allow-nothing beats natural air exchange! The Winix 5500-2 might not have all the bells and whistles, but it consistently outperforms in value and functionality. Also you want to buy a brand that has experience and is doing well. If you buy a unit that uses all in one filtration systems that are proprietary in size, you are out of luck when the brand shuts down or it stops making that unit. And the greater units sold means the likelihood that they will continue to make the filters. Again, another plus for Winix. PS: here is a detailed breakdown on HEPA ratings and the importance of buying brands with TRUE HEPA. This is vital information that most people are either unaware or unwilling to understand and how most brands scam or “mislead” consumers : The difference between air purifiers with HEPA 13 and HEPA 14 filters, while measurable, is often negligible for most residential or non-critical settings. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide if the upgrade is worth it: Key Differences Between HEPA 13 and HEPA 14 Metric HEPA 13 Filtration Efficiency ≥99.95% for 0.3-micron particles HEPA 14 ≥99.995% for 0.3-micron particles HEPA 13 Use Cases: Homes, offices, schools HEPA 14 Hospitals, labs, critical settings Impact on Air Quality HEPA 13 Excellent for most environments HEPA 14 Exceptional for ultra-clean spaces Cost and Maintenance HEPA 13: More affordable, easier to maintain HEPA 14: Higher cost, less common filters 1. Filtration Efficiency: • HEPA 13 already captures 99.95% of 0.3-micron particles, leaving only 0.05% unfiltered. • HEPA 14 captures 99.995%, filtering out an additional 0.045%. • For residential spaces, this small improvement is unlikely to have a noticeable impact, as the air purifier will still circulate air multiple times per hour, eventually catching those few remaining particles. 2. Primary Use Cases: • HEPA 13 is more than sufficient for most homes, offices, and even environments with allergens, smoke, or pollution. • HEPA 14 is designed for critical environments like hospital operating rooms, clean rooms, and laboratories, where even minute contamination could pose a significant risk. 3. Cost and Maintenance: • HEPA 14 filters are usually more expensive and may require specialized maintenance. • Some air purifiers designed for HEPA 14 are bulkier or noisier due to the need for higher air pressure to push air through the denser filter. When to Consider HEPA 14: You might consider HEPA 14 in the following cases: - Severe Allergies or Respiratory Issues: If someone in your home has asthma, COPD, or severe sensitivities. - Immunocompromised Individuals: For individuals undergoing treatments (e.g., chemotherapy) or recovering from illness where air quality is critical. - Industrial or Clinical Use: If you’re in a workspace handling volatile chemicals, airborne pathogens, or other contaminants. Conclusion: For 99% of residential or office environments, a HEPA 13 filter is more than adequate. The slight improvement offered by HEPA 14 generally isn’t worth the extra cost unless you have specific medical or industrial needs. Instead, focus on factors like: • Airflow rate (CFM): Ensuring adequate circulation for your room size. • Filter quality: True HEPA vs. proprietary filters. • Carbon filtration: Essential for removing VOCs and odors. Investing in a well-designed purifier with HEPA 13 and strong airflow will deliver excellent results for most settings. Finally, why rate against >.03 microns? HEPA filters (High-Efficiency Particulate Air filters) are designed to capture particles based on size, and the challenge with 0.3-micron particles arises due to how different particle-capture mechanisms work. Here’s why: 1. Particle Behavior Around 0.3 Microns • The “Most Penetrating Particle Size” (MPPS): 0.3 microns is considered the MPPS because particles of this size fall in a transitional range between two dominant behaviors: • Inertia and Impaction (larger particles): Larger particles (>0.3 microns) are more likely to collide with and stick to filter fibers due to their mass and inertia. • Diffusion (smaller particles): Smaller particles (<0.3 microns) exhibit Brownian motion, where they move erratically and are more likely to collide with and stick to the fibers. • At 0.3 microns, particles are small enough to evade capture by inertia but large enough to avoid significant diffusion effects, making them harder to trap. 2. Capture Mechanisms of HEPA Filters HEPA filters rely on four main mechanisms, and their effectiveness varies by particle size: • Inertial Impaction: Larger particles can’t follow airflow around filter fibers and crash into them. • Interception: Particles that follow the airflow but come close enough to a fiber get captured. • Diffusion: Smaller particles move randomly (Brownian motion) and are more likely to collide with fibers. • Electrostatic Attraction (sometimes): Some filters attract particles electrostatically. At 0.3 microns, particles are less influenced by diffusion or impaction, allowing them to “slip through” the filter more easily. 3. HEPA Classifications (11, 13, 14) • HEPA classifications refer to efficiency: • HEPA 11: ~95% efficient for 0.3-micron particles. • HEPA 13: ~99.95% efficient. • HEPA 14: ~99.995% efficient. • While all HEPA filters struggle more with 0.3-micron particles than other sizes, higher-rated HEPA filters reduce this vulnerability through tighter fiber construction and improved mechanisms. 4. Real-World Context Despite the challenge with 0.3 microns, HEPA filters remain effective because: • Most harmful particulates (like viruses, bacteria, pollen, or allergens) are either smaller (exploiting diffusion) or larger (trapped by impaction/interception). • Particles at 0.3 microns are the hardest to trap, but even HEPA 11 captures most of them effectively, with higher-grade filters (13 or 14) offering near-complete protection. In essence, the inefficiency at 0.3 microns is a small technical limitation in an otherwise highly effective filtration method! This is why you should always buy a air filter with the highest CFR rating the lower the rating means less air is being cleaned, which means longer time and more energy to purify vs say a Winx 5500-2 (I have no connection to Winix, I have just been down the research air purifier rabbit hole for years. Though I really want to have a Blue Air, Dyson, Conway and Medfy. Winx just beats them. I agree that the Blue Air is a great, esthetically and in function but not in price. Finally, really this time, I am still concerned why most refuse to disclose their carbon amount. Especially knowing how important it is being so quickly saturated and the saturated filter defeating the whole unit by reintroducing harmful VOC’s back into the air. Again, that’s disconcerting and questions why the secrecy which causes distrust. Ans distrust in anything from relationships to product brands, you can regain liking or even loving them again but almost NEVER restored in full. Once broken, it’s one of those rare things that can’t be repaired. (As a marketing professional, that one lesson brands seem to never learn, except for those who are transparent and tell a great story that enhances trust. That creates loyalty. Ans you mentioned 2 Apple and Dyson, both great examples of a brand who’s reputation is so powerful that when issues like dishonest marketing for HEPA filters, their loyal customers let out confirmation bias run amuck and it pushes out all cognitive dissonance.
love finding new creators that are actually good
Amazing quality and time was put into this review. Thank you so much for this detailed comparison! I actually bought the mini because I have a small bedroom but kept having second thoughts due to the lack of features. I then decided to check out the 200 level and noticed that Levoit has your video on its official product page. So I went to UA-cam to watch your full video. Your conclusion is basically how I feel about the mini vs the next level up with the 200. The biggest surprise is how expensive the filters cost for the mini. Unfortunately, the mini I bought is coming in the mail tomorrow. I probably won't open it and just return it when it arrives so I can get the 200.
Glad i was able to help!

When you say you had it on at level 2 @14:10, does that mean low or medium? Also great videos!
Thank you so much for your help and testing! I bought a germ guardian, and a vital 200s-p before watching your videos and I agree with your opinion I’m going to return it the noise was really high lol and I’m going to get a 600 and 400 instead. and get specific filters for smoke since I like to smoke by my window after work and like to keep the area clean. Thank you so much!
Great to hear!
Why didn't you add a Levoit for reference? Now I still don't know how these compare to your thorough Levoit comparison.
And i used the same testing method so the results should be comparable but i shouldve included a section at the end to compare to the best levoit
Really nice one. I've been doing my own tests with the core 200s, core 300s, core 400s and the S200 Vital is on Its way. Some things to add: - Consider the size. Not just the filters are bigger, the units are huge. So not everybody has the space for It. I mean the 400S is like a huge tank compared to the 300S. I prefer the 300S because of that. It will look too dominant in most interiors - Power usage, you've missed the fact that the auto mode makes a huge difference vs the smaller devices without it. - Convenience, same as above; the auto mode Is what everybody wants - turning on when It's required, not because It can. Which means often almost 0 noticeable noise. - Max performance is misleading. Look at real-world usage. My 300S is already plenty to keep all the values low in a +- 50m3 space without rarely even going to Its low setting. Bigger is really not required. The 200S would be even enough, but again, you have to manually control It without the auto trigger. Which is pretty much useless, noisy and wasteful in real life. - Lifespan of the PM sensors are about 3 years, so 5 - 10 years isn't accurate If you expect It to work in auto mode. - S200 Vital: you can wash and re-use the pre-filter. Saves a bit on maintenance cost. You mentioned It but not when you considered the price I think. - The S200 Vital is +- twice as expensive here (€264) as the Core 300S (€145) btw, so that makes It quite a hard sell. Still have to test It, but I think I know the outcome. - Levoit doesn't just come with an App, but also has Google/Alexa integration or Home assistant - You were looking for the 500S, but you did miss the 100S vital in the comparison ;-) - Also, the amazon meter isn't probably the most accurate device to do these tests with. I've used a certified Temtop and noticed that without exception all of the PM2.5 measures from Levoit were quite off. To be clear, none of these filters are H13 HEPA filters. Over here they are still promoting with It and should be sued for it. They are not medical certified filters. Just HEPA. True HEPA sounds nice, but doesn't mean anything. So If you want the real deal you have to look at other Air Purifiers.
as far as I have found out, the vita series (100s and 200s) have real hepa filters. or sm I wrong with that?
@@Oneinall None of the Leveit have real h13 hepa filters. They have their own filters. Which are hepa filters (just a common name for the type of filter), but not h13, which is a certified medical filter. Like Winix has for instance. For me I'd choose Leveit anyway because the filters test out fine and they have a good smart integration, also in home assistant, but without It I'd choose Winix Zero S without a doubt. Performance is better vs Leveit's best one at half the cost. (at least here in Europe) And Winix' filters are also more modular (you can replace hepa and carbon filters independently of each-other). Also comes with washable pre-filter, just like the Vital series. Also come wtih Plasmawave, although I'm not so sure that's advisable to turn on normally (small levels of Ozone), but If you have allergies or other conditions, another reason to pick Winix.
Thank you for the follow up! Gave me quite a few points to think about in the future
