quick question about instill fear, if you cast it and there is a hero in front of you, does he have to be the 1st targeted because he can use will to resist? And also, can you instill fear in a wall already engaged in combat?

I’ve recently gotten into painting war hammer and mesbg and I was wondering what the rules for customizing and kit bashing your models are for mesbg? I really want to build an Angmar army but I don’t really enjoy the non helmeted orcs so I was thinking about using some green stuff and maybe buying the Gundabad orc upgrade kit and modeling and kit bashing some of the helmets onto the Mordor orcs: is there any rules against this on the battlefield or is customization like this allowed/encouraged?

Hopufully they make angmar more fun to play againts. They migth be balance but they are a chore to play against.

Played my 1st tourney last weekend, came 13th out of 20, thanks for the tips! felt super organised

Watched this as i'm playing against Lurtz LL tonight. its been interesting to listen, i.e. the Glorfindel example was interesting. And the fact that Aragorn only needs to survive one round against the Balrog. I wonder if the heroic challenge can be used to pull enemy heroes out of position so that any special buffs. i.e. banners will miss some of the army. Basically against Lurtz LL i need to keep my hero at the back until i'm ready to charge in.

In the 3-600 point range I prefer to knock the last row off my pike block so I can include a triad of kataphracti in the same warband. It helps with Malestrome deployments and saves a few points to spend on casters and now dragon cultists

Gullavar is 200 points of kickass. Got a chuckle out of me.

I haven't tried it with Bur Dur, but I successfully played Shagrat with the Dwimmerlaik, and a budget Witch King was pretty hilarious watching them try and deal with Shagrat with the Dwimmerlaik and 2 wraiths casting spells on them. It's probably not a terrible archetype with the tainted, either. I imagine X2 Drain Courage + a bur dur or a wild warg or maybe a feel beast in there somewhere to kill them to break, and you will probably win with the tainted ability + the -1 courage aura.

Love a tier list, very interested to see your Lothlorien one. I myself am president of the Celeborn is actually good society 😂

Protection of the valar wont help against shad'e AOE ability. And thankfully this army is almost immune to the barrow wight's paralyse with its other abilities.

Remember that you need a Hero of valor or legend to make a yellow alliance, so you dont have to many options at 800pts.
