Le Jardin Secret est l’un des plus grands et des plus anciens riads de la médina de Marrakech, un lieu qui a conservé des témoignages intacts de son extraordinaire valeur culturelle liée à l’art des jardins, à l’architecture et à l’hydraulique arabes. Après trois ans de restauration, en 2016 le Jardin Secret ouvre enfin ses portes aux visiteurs.

Le Jardin Secret is one of the largest and most ancient riads of the medina of Marrakech. It is a place that has kept ancient structures intact that are of an extraordinary cultural value, linked to the art of gardens, architecture and Arab hydraulics. After three years of restoration, it opened its doors to visitors for the first time in its history in 2016.

فتحت الحديقة السرية أبوابها للعموم للمرة الأولى بمراكش المغرب
فتحت الحديقة السرية أبوابها للعموم للمرة الأولى في تاريخها. تعود أصول الحديقة إلى عهد السلالة السعدية منذ أكثر من أربعمائة عام.
تمت إعادة بناءها في منتصف القرن التاسع عشر من قبل قايد الأطلس، وكانت الحديقة السرية موطنا لبعض كبار الشخصيات السياسية في المغرب عموما و مدينة مراكش خاصة.
اعيد ترميم الحديقة السرية بالكامل مؤخرا من طرف السيد لاورو ميلان، و هي جزء من التقاليد العظيمة للقصور العربية الأندلسية والمغربية. تمكن الزوار من إستكشاف الحدائق والمباني التي تعتبر شهادات إستثنائية من الفن الإسلامي والهندسة المعمارية.

Great 3D animation! I watched longer video of the reconstruction, this makes plain how water is delivered to all parts of the gardens!! And the illustration of the water system of Marrakesh and beyond! Wow!!
Now I get it. Straight through my adopted neighborhood. Down the Rue Riad Zitoun Lakdim and Jdid, and into the Agdal Gardens. Totally amazing.
We visited this garden in 2023 , it was just incredible Such a beautiful restoration and everything is done by hand Wonderful craftsmanship

I visited this last in early 2023, and they have added so much more to it, it looks so beautiful

It is a shame they went more for the academic and technical achievement and missing out the artistic side which go hand in hand with such gardens. It is a shame on this scale there is no great work of Moroccan tiling and alabaster work etc. Maybe in time, perhaps the budget didn't meet the desire.
