Time-lapse for Nov. 29-30, 2024. Probable Falcon 9 booster re-entry captured at time-stamp 00:30 MST. A bright flash followed by a persistent ion hole. The camera clock was not set correctly, the actual time of the event was 23:33 MST. That would have put it in the window for the Falcon 9 launch from Vandenburg at approximately 05:00 GMT. Wowww... What a magnificent Universe we live in. Thank you for these videos!
woah!!
amazing! ive been thinking of getting a fish eye lens for astrophotography as well. Awesome videos on your channel!! I saw you use the Loawa 4mm, i'm also debating between this and the 7artisan one. Regardless, these are wonderful timelapses. I hope to do the same with meteor showers, aurora, and milkyway. Might even see how a star tracer would look with this setup.
salve sono nuovo con seestar non riesco a capire dove apri la finestra al minuto 2:00 grazie
You can open the Terminal app by clicking on the black square icon in the Raspberry Pi toolbar.
That is really great quality video. Can I ask what your setup is? are you using the Thomas Jacquin AllSky software? Thanks for sharing.
This was created with my Lumix G100 mirrorless camera with a Loawa 4mm fisheye lens. 25 sec. exposure at F2.8 ISO 6400. I do have a RPi HQ Allsky camera running TJ's allsky, but it is not near the quality of the M 4/3 camera.
Beautiful! Like looking out a porthole of spaceship Earth.
Beautiful. Can make out M45 Pleiades, Orion and M42 and stars are sharp. Fantastic! Sadly, no UFOs.
Indeed
Is that a Cheshire cat at 0:04 ?!
WOW!! FABULOUS time lapse!
That's coming from the mad scientist lab over the other side of that mountain ba ha ha ha ha
That is INSANE! Glad my neighbor hollered at me! Around 11L45, I took one last look before going to bed and could still barely make out the arc. Is that a red version of a STEVE? And you MUST explain to me what is going on from 1:07 to 1:19.
check out Hikvison camera. DS-2CD2087G2-L(U) has very good low light sensor.
Is there some kind of text alert system for aurora displays? Was this forecasted? Did you know this was going to happen?
Wow! More northern lights!!
I have tried this several times and cannot get it to work. I keep getting errors that modules are missing, most notably falcon.
Seestar_ALP is still in alpha stage, so is constantly updating. May sure you are installing the latest version from the repository listed in the description. I will try to do an up dated video soon.
@@taosjay Thank you
bonjour et merci pour cette video. est ce que c'est possible de faire des pose longue avec allview ?
@@jeanparizot1923 Oui, si vous avez une caméra qui peut être déclenchée par le câble de commande.
Thank you so much. I scheduled several captures the other night and my first one kicked off on time and started imaging. It was scheduled to capture for 4500 second (1 hour and 15 minutes) and then the next target was supposed to kick off. When I checked a few hours later it was still capturing the first image... Is there a trick to scheduling more than one capture in a night? Any advice would be appreciated. I just downloaded a version this morning that is slightly newer than the one I installed a little over a week ago.
God created all these!....Big bang maybe just a process how God created the universe
pure.. very pure... Dome is dirty.. time lapse not god for showing meteors..
It must be nice to live somewhere with skies that dark
Do you need to have any versions of python installed ?
I think that python3 is installed with the installer script.
Thanks so much for this.
Thank you, Jay. This was a very nice tutorial Makes it a lot easier to set up. Great work.
Very helpful, thanks. My S50 is on its way to Costa Rica, and I feel like I already know how to use it with free software. <3
Thanks for this 🎉would appreciate it you show a simple example of how to start a target at specific time.
I just created a new tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/S17HFlf30tg/v-deo.html
@@Skylapser super 👍
Thank you VERY much for doing this! I will definitely do this with my Raspberry Pi. how do you connect the SeeStar to your home WIFI? The only way I know to connect to the SeeStar is through my phone app.
Hey there, I'm not new to the Seestar, but I'm new to this. I have some questions and hope they are not annoying. Is the pi4 connected via wifi or Bluetooth? Do I need to configure my seestar or set it up in eq mode to utilize the simple seestar controller and alp?
wifi
oh, and no it doesn't require EQ, What I find kind of nice about this setup, is that you can just plug in your pi and access the SCC independently with an ipad or whatever (i set up in in Lite version of bookworm, headless, so if you aren't do familiar might need to lookup a few raspberry pi commands: Use sudo raspi-config to get into the configuration program if you messed up wifi like I did. sudo shutdown now Also the guys working on this said use the following to update: ssh to RPi cd seestar_alp git pull Also might need git stash if the config has been modified git stash git pull git stash pop Have fun, I just got it working yesterday, so looking to test when the weather clears here.
@akessel1956 thank you....I'm definitely in the dark on all of this so I have homework ahead of me. Thank you for taking the time to prove this information. Hope you get clear skies soon and, I hope you you can do a vid on this as well. We have clouds for days ahead here in Eastern NM.
@@gwzapo We will have clear skies friday and saturday, but the moon getting big. I want to try the mosaic on Andromeda, but no idea how the mosaic thing works!
@@akessel1956 I bet that mosaic will be fun to try!!!
Just wonder if you will put a tutorial of installing the stellarium in Raspberry pi soon? thx
as soon as I get to the 5430 it comes up with This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it and it says 500 Internal Server Error....do i need to be prerunning something>
You get that error when the Seestar is not started and connected to the same local network. Start the Seestar before launching seestar_alp
@@CELTGalwaythey changed port to 5432. Can’t make up their mind.
Wow! Absolutely magnificent!!

Can you share your camera settings ?
I haven't had a good view of the night sky in years. It's as beautiful as I remember.
It's falcon 9 upper stage retro fire after starlinkG5-15 launch. The time, 05:25 July 16 UTC, matches yours (assume you are UTC-7)
A sprite, if captured, would only last for 1 frame, 2 depending on fps. But, beautiful night capture!
The plume persists for several minutes. Definitely not a sprite. Might be a rocket launch?
i don't think that's a sprite... looks more like a light-refracted fuel dump cloud from a rocket... if we could see the moving dot of the rocket, it would be heading up right toward the center of the image but it looks to be low enough to be in shadow and thus unseen... there was a SpaceX Starlink launch on the 15th at 23:50EDT... if i count my TZs properly that would be 21:50MDT... that would make the sighting about 37 minutes later which may be reasonable timing for a partial orbit... i'm not saying it is that launch because i'm not sure of the launch direction ATM or the direction the video is showing and how wide the area of sky coverage is... i'm sure others can figure that out but yeah, i don't recall seeing any cloudy-looking sprites in sprite images that i've seen published... the closest might be a "Jellyfish Sprite"... you'll have to search for it in google or bing... YT likes to block URLs to 3rd party sites... either way, nice visuals! excellent capture... i love seeing the satellites flying through and the occasional airplane... keep looking up! 🐱 PS: don't try to click those time links in this comment... YT trying to be helpful and yeah... don't do that, YT! LOL
I think you are probably correct. The wonder of science, is to reevaluate you first assumptions upon the presentation of new evidence. Thank you
Settings,please!❤

I know this sounds silly, maybe even stupid, but seeing the Northern Lights popping up all over the place fills me with anxiety. I feel like they're a warning for us - a warning on what, I have no idea - but there you are.
Watch on a clear night . Youll see .... some stars are close others are miles away . These are the 1s that are miles away
Yo, this is dope! I've only been to Taos once to lay my buddy to rest underneath an oak tree on his family's land.
excellent tracking of the King
