@@Excelsior_Espio it's the type of diesel. There is a PD, or pump deuce, the ALH and I think a third type also but I'm not 100% positive.

@@Excelsior_Espio There are a couple really good forums for VW tdi enthusiasts. VWvortex, tdiclub, myturbodiesel are a few I like to use.

It was actually just the stock exhaust piping, with a small flowmaster muffler welded in, and a 3.5"-4.0" inch universal tip (can't remember) that I found at a local speed shop back in the day.

Hey, thanks for your interest! My dad bought it new for himself, passed it down to me when he bought a '98 F-150- I drove the Celica through high school and most of college, when dad bought another new truck and passed down the F-150 to me. The Celica got sold private-party, and I have no idea what happened from there. I do think about it often, because it was a fantastic and fun little sports car. I know it probably met its demise somewhere along the way, but for the 16 or so years that we had it, it was well-cared for.

Hey Tyler- seems to be an indication of unburned diesel fuel due to an incomplete combustion during startup, which causes raw diesel fuel to come out of the exhaust. Nothing to worry about.

Every diesel without emissions will do that it’s normal.

Wouldn't that be somethin'!? Although, it'd probably weigh in a good 1500 pounds heavier, and have a fuel tank half the size. But, I like your thinking here. Thanks for the compliments! She's still chugging along.

Performance-wise, the car has a Malone stage 1 tune, South Bend stage 2 clutch, modified version of the Injen Cold Air Intake setup and stock wastegate-

Alh is the engine code for the car in the video. It’s a 1.9 diesel produced from 99-03.

Hey Chet- all things considered, it's still fairly quiet. The cab noise is more so from the lower profile tires and road noise than the exhaust note. The car has a modified version of the Injen Cold Air Intake setup and stock wastegate- but because it breathes a little more freely, there is a cool little blowoff sound when you let off the boost.

Good eye! :) What you can hear her ask is if I'd like a drink, and then she ended up dropping some stuff in the recycling bin, and I sat there with the car dinging for longer than anyone would have tuned in for. Thanks for the compliment- the car is pretty fun to drive! Nothing fancy, but a pretty solid workhorse.

Hey- It's an old MBRP kit that's been installed since 2007- I believe the stacks are 36" tall. 4" turbo back, 5" stacks.

Not as noticeable when driving but at lower speeds you can. The wastegate dump sounds equally as good.

Straight pipe should do it. From the turbo back.. the less that's in the way there, the less that will impede your turbo noise.

Turned out to be a whole mess of air in the fuel system. After trying everything I did, I was about to tow it to a shop. Fortunately, a TDI guy helped me get everything purged and sorted out.. been runnin' like a top ever since- as far as the engine is concerned. I replaced the fuel filter, thermostatic-t, injector return lines, filter-to-pump lines, in-tank fuel sending unit, injection pump top seal.. just about everything I could short of a new injection pump. Air. It's held prime with no problems even after sitting for a couple weeks. Was certainly frustrating at the time, but I ended up learning a decent amount as I went further down the rabbit hole.

You know what.. it was set up this way when I bought the car.. Supposedly has a Malone stage 1 tune, which I'm sure they addressed any check engine light when it was tuned. Sorry, just seeing this comment.
