VERY surprised Touhou isn’t on here. For me, I adore Touhou, but god do I hate the GENERAL fandom. I say this because Touhou is so big, that theres so many sub fandoms inside it. But god, is the general fandom bad. I only feel safe in the smaller ones, like the official games (yes theres games), rhythm games, and certain dojin circles/artists. Well first of all, lolicons. The worst fandom on the internet, and my mind won’t ever change. We get it, you’re a pedophile, you don’t have to tell everyone. Luckily, a lot of them are mostly in the Blue Archive community now. Also a toxic, pedophile infested community full of homophobia. In terms of dojins, it’s not toxic, but dear god, have I seen the most brutal messed up shit from those. To me, even real gore hasn’t disturbed me nearly as much as some Touhou dojins have, and unrelated dojins from commonly associated Touhou artists. Funnily enough, the community for that is pretty chill and welcoming, to the point where I started to enjoy the good ones. Sadly, those messed up dojins are always loli, but the good ones just have cool gore/good story. Shipping is also a pretty big thing, and I personally am into Touhou shipping. I haven’t seen too much toxic from that side, and if there is, it’s likely your typical shipping wars you see in every fandom (Reimu x Yukari forever!!) Oh and Yukkuris! Dear god Yukkuris…they were basically fumos before well…fumos. I actually like them a lot, though some hate them, understandably. But some hate them so much that they dedicate their art to self-insert Yukkuri abuse. Though with the decreased prescence of Yukkuris in general, it seems this side has gone down a lot. A lot of the fandom hates this part, understandably so. Haven’t seen much discussion of it though. Fumos just had much more appeal I guess. Touhou is great, if you enjoy it in your own specific sub fandom. I would not at all recommend going anywhere near the general fandom. It is a hell hole, and i’ve likely forgot to mention so much. And this is just mostly the English speaking internet, haven’t even talked about the Japanese side.

I’m glad you addressed the Pokemon community, most of us who aren’t zoophiles have just been losing hope as we see the growing issue with people normalizing beastiality/pedophilia among *certain* Pokemon, and it sadly doesn’t end there when you realize that everyone seems to forget what demographic Pokemon aims towards, CHILDREN. There are many cases where people reminisce about how they were exposed to many sexual things when they first started interacting with the community, some as young as 10. And excuse my “sob story” (as some toxic pokemon fans stated) but even I have terrible memories back when I was barely 13 and new to the pokemon community, I was gr00med online by some terrible people and they left me with some bad mental issues. To conclude it up, I just wanna say that I WISH the Pokemon community will someday learn to fix itself because I do NOT want to see anymore children or minors experience what I have.
