6/2/ 2024 - Delphi Falls, Part 2
Just a quick little ride down to Delphi Falls to see if the path to the lower falls was open yet. Doesn't hurt that I love the ride down NY-13 between Chittenango and Cazenovia. Falls weren't open yet so I decided to take a little different path home which was hard to do since it was in the middle of the twisties on NY-13! It was worth it though as I got to see a really cool view of the Oneida Lake valley (about the 19:30 mark).

Got out for a longer ride down to a different waterfall. Decent ride and a rather nice waterfall. The only real issues I had with the day had to do with people ignoring the no swimming sign, no one enforcing it, and a little discomfort on the seat. This ride started me thinking that I needed a new seat...

It’s a good day 🛵💨
Indeed it was!
What are you riding? Electric 4 wheeler? Its quiet
Sportsman 1000 at that time. Keep in mind the camera was mounted on the very front of the machine. But it was fully stock...
is there still an active club , is this a members only club trail or public, are there other trails in the area
This is still an active club. All trails are members only and, to my knowledge, are patrolled by the sheriff to ensure people riding the trails are members. I'm no longer a member as I've switched to a dirt bike and they aren't allowed on this club's trails...
Do you know if dirt bikes are allowed on these trails, recently bought my son a four wheeler and a dirt bike for myself and would love some trails to ride on.
Dirt bikes are no longer allowed at this club. I suggest you check out Lewis County as they allow dirt bikes. I ride the area called The Commons. It's great for families since not many ride that section. Here's a link to a playlist on my other channel... ua-cam.com/play/PLQ3sk59_hwnPNsCtvbaDaSf62Kb8fFX0c.html
@@DerekMcAllister thanks for your reply im gonna check it out. Disapointing i got a dirt bike, i got my 5 year old a bike and my nephew got one as well and all the spots i used to ride are no longer allowed because the atv club now like governs them. Its weird.
@@ryancornelius1007 - I switched too a dirt bike last year. Disappointing that so few places allow them now. I don't think you'll be disappointed with riding the Commons though. There are a couple other remote riding areas within the Lewis County trail system. Reduced traffic because you pretty much have to trailer there. It's late in the season though so you may not get your money's worth out of a season pass. Depends on how often you ride. I believe it's $65 for the first machine followed by $20 for each additional family machine. They must be insured. I think 3-day passes are $20 per machine.
Im going to start exploring around Tug Hill this summer . Where did this ride start? is it a Campground i could stay at? thanks for any information.
Sorry for the delayed reply. This started at the Oswego County ATV Club campgrounds. I'm no longer a member of the club so I'm not sure if they have any openings for the campgrounds. I do believe you need to be a member to get a site though.
Sick! Where exactly is this?
Sorry for the delayed reply. This is in Lewis County, the particular trails we are on here are across from Timberview Lodge...
What trail/seasonal roads in this video?
This video starts at the end of one of the Oswego County ATV Club trails, Nevermore. The seasonal road is Austin Road, and the finish is on the railroad bed in Altmar, NY.
Watching here
Highly suggest you switch over to the new channel if you want to see more videos.
Your videos made my year and channel a better place and i will always respect you for that thank you
Happy trials too you my you tube friend! Thanks
We like to support small channels in hopes that they will do the same for us!
Never hurts to have some private property to rip around on! Trails look pretty solid as well! Where is all the mud though?! 😎
There wasn't any of what you would call mud. A couple of places where there was actual mud though...
@@DerekMcAllister It was a dry summer...maybe next year! If that is the truth...let me know when you go again. lol
Not sure I'll get to go back. It's private property so invite only...
Old guy problems...I am starting to feel them myself! lol.
The worst part is you're young! Give it a few more years... LoL
@@DerekMcAllister I don't want to think about that. lol
Got's to watch it when riding behind Dave! LOL. He will "Assassinate" you 😂
What area of Lewis County is this?
We unloaded at Timberview Lodge in Turin...
Look at you getting all muddy and stuff! I see snorkels in your future 😎 I would definitely say I would have more fun with the group on these trails than the Tug Hill trails...guess it's more the fun of the people you are with than the actual trail itself sometimes. Not that there isn't some fun trail to be found on the Tug! Now, let's see if we can make this weekend happen 🤔
Wasn't really all that muddy, just a few spots. I'm not sure how much fun you'd have on these, there's a lot of pavement between the trails. I could certainly show them to you if you want to get a pass. $30 for the season, can't remember the single day price (might be $20). An option for the weekend if you're going to be down near Altmar...
@@DerekMcAllister Always an option but when does the trail close down to ATV's? Time is always my worst enemy for things like this....just need a little more time!
The close September 30th...
hey i have had a camp in Cleveland for years and go snowmobiling on those trails. i just moved back to the state and have been looking to get my wheeler out. just looking for some more info. is C4 actually open? and do you know what club maintains these trails?
I don't think much is open beyond what's in the video. Even what's in the video is usually closed. Haven't been back that way since as the club in Altmar opened as did Lewis county. I know you can't go far past the gravel bed of route 17.
I must say you had me lost . Well that is your back door thanks for sharing
You are right that was a sweet day for a ride
🎶
I am going to get you wearing a dang helmet mount this season if it is the last thing I do dang it! 😎
Nope, not gonna happen! 😁
@@DerekMcAllister I will sneak one on your helmet...you won't even know ;-)
LMAO! Doesn't mean I'll use it...
I must say my old Big Hog RZR looks good lol
That was a good night ride everyone had a good time
Aren't you glad you took a chance on the weather?
@@DerekMcAllister it was a touching go but I won't admit it you're right
That was fast this one is going back to Altmar
Wow why would anyone park like that right on the ATV trail . Some people are just dumb
Really ticked me off. Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have the whips...
That's not wind noise... it's an exhaust leak!
LOL! It was prior to the case being on it, tons of wind noise...
Now that would be an interesting ride. How possible would a ride be from Oswego area to Hook & Ladder?
Not possible. Trails aren't connected...
@@DerekMcAllister well that sucks. So Altmar is the only option as far as proximity to oswego?
An Oswego County ATV Club member can park as far south as the Happy Valley Inn on Rt 69 in Parish. Farthest east is the Grist Mill also in Parish. A lot of roads between either and Hook & Ladder but some good trails. Hit me up if you're interested in riding that whole thing sometime. Would be a full day ride...
Derek McAllister I need a rzr. Lol
So you have a Sportsman, just bought a Scrambler, and now you want a Rzr? You'll never have time to ride all of them!
That was a nice day out on the ATV'S
You need a bar light
Nope, don't ride at night enough to bother. Besides, I could actually see quite well. This camera just didn't pick up a lot when it's dark...
That's a Bad ass Polaris out front lol
When we ride as family .Only if we can talk you into a Collett that would be nice
Lets do it as part of a Foliage run
May do it this weekend on my own...
Trails do look prime for a nice day ride! Just enough "wet" to keep the dust down! Maybe when I get the new machine...I will keep it trail rated for bit and try it out :-)
Generally speaking, these trails don't get all that dusty. Keep in mind though, they require a membership unless you're doing this poker run. Not sure I'll be doing this run again though, more to come on that...
@@DerekMcAllister Gotcha gotcha. Always something to look into that is for sure. Never know where the next ride will take me. Be nice to get more of the guys together to go on it though. You can share that with me on the ride this weekend my friend.
Ferda
See I would have to bring my fishing pole riding here. Make it a ride, fishing, and maybe even a trail bbq day. Something I have been wanting to do but never seem to get a time to do it 🤦🏻♂️
Let me know when and I'm in!
lol you hit every mud hole but one
I tried my best!
Hey slow down lol
LOL
This is something that I wish I still had a "stock" machine to ride. One of those places where I could also see stopping on the side of the trail...starting a little fire, cooking up some grub, and taking in the surroundings for a moment. Just need to hit the lottery so I can have a machine for all terrains. lol
It was a bit cold to do that on this day. I think it was only 34 for the high. But I do get what you mean, be really nice to do sometimes...
Is this run before we took out the lift kit
Yep. Have another ride or two to post before we took it off.
@@DerekMcAllisterI can hear the hard ride
Didn't bother me so much on this ride but that could be because I was excited to get out and ride the trails again.
I see now what Rob was saying the ruts are crazy
They would have been much worse of it was dry...
Do you have to hit every water hole and mud
I went around some!
@@DerekMcAllister lol ok
Thank you for making all these cool videos of the Facility!!
Glad you liked them. Feel free to share them if you'd like!
Nice videos just subbed
Thanks! I make them for myself but like when others like them. Out of curiosity, how did you find me?
@@DerekMcAllister Ny trail hogs Facebook page I believe they shared one of your videos a while ago!
Yep, sure did! Glad you enjoyed it. More to come from this ride...
Are the videos of new trails every time you go out
For the most part, yes. They have just under 8 miles of trails according to their measurements, I didn't get to ride all of them by any means. But put 7+ miles on.
This may help out lol Ride height (also called ground clearance or simply clearance) is the amount of space between the base of an automobile tire and the underside of the chassis; or, more properly, to the shortest distance between a flat, level surface, and any part of a vehicle other than those parts designed to contact the ground (such as tires, tracks, skis, etc.).
Oh, a wise guy huh! I think I would have made it if he didn't get stuck first. I just didn't have the momentum to drag the chassis through the mud. He and I were the only ones in the group that weren't running a lift at all...
Not to bad just give some Gas next time lol
Trust me, giving it what I was wasn't helping. The tires are hard as a rock so they weren't flexing where I need them to. My bad for assuming they would be soft from the cold...
Good video thanks
Hey that's a sweet looking Can Am
Wait, there's a nice looking Can-Am? I didn't think they made such a thing...LOL
lol
I missed the right hand turn lol Hey we had fun
It was a lot of fun!
Hey it was not that bad you till have all your teeth lol
Wasn't bad for you! Good thing the food was good so I forgot about it...LOL
lol
