Thank you so much for your beautiful thoughtfulness regarding my book; I’m so grateful and honored. ❤
Thank you for providing such a thought-provoking book!
Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for watching! More will be coming soon
this was a crazy book to read!!!
I'm loving it so far!
I reviewed her book on my channel
This is on my December TBR - thanks for your review!
Awesome! I hope you enjoy it, Josh!
@@TheLiteraryApothecary thank you! :)
keep up the good work
Thank you! <3
Spoilers I loved the first two. But not the last one I missed the court intrigue that was there in the first two books It became nore like quest epic type. There was no balance I felt third one should have given importance to patience and burrich...one who wants her dead husbands kegacy to go on by rallying inlanders to fight the raiders ... the other burrich wanting to avenge his dead son figure qnd finally accepting to use his wit to find verity release the elder lings and finally kill regal The other ls failed Fitz...these two were the ones eho genuinely cared for him
I'm on book 3 right now and ready for this trilogy to be over 😂 it seems drawn out and really ready to be done with Nighteyes.
Gooosh I am so eager to get to Lily!! Right now Lullaby is my fave but like, Daniel's writing is just SO gutwrenchingly beautiful in all of the books. Also heeeeck yes for Brightwash 🤩 And Butcher & Blackbird really has to be one of the biggest reading surprises I have ever had hahaha
Lily is just the perfect end for that arch. It's so good. My fav was Sleepwalking until I read Lily. It's so gutwrenching. Brightwash and Krystle are amazing. B&B was such a shock!
YESSSSSSSSS 🎉 I am so glad you enjoyed it!!!
And ironically- I just had an event in the Ziegfeld Ballroom in NYC on Monday!
This book is so good, I love Viola so much.
I loved how unique it was.
This sounds like it might translate into helping indie authors, too. 😮
It definitely could! I think if you are patient enough to take out the pieces of advice that is relevant to you, it's definitely applicable.
Ahhhh Kate!!! Thank you so much for including Phased, I'm so honored that you picked it up and enjoyed it 😍
Of course! Loved that book. Ready for book 2 - when you are 😉
So happy you really liked this book ! I'll send you some recs of books later for ones that you should try, because I have a list haha. I will say that it is quite different as I don't think there are many trans regency era books but I love that it took that era and just had fun with it
I like your way of talking. Love from India
Thanks a lot 🖐🖐🖐
Love to see the indie love!! I have yet to read The Bleeding Stone but your gushing about it last year made me want to read it sooo badly! And I also really want to try out Interview with the Vampire someday, I feel like that should have happened a long time ago already hahaha
Bleeding Stone will give you all the feels...get tissues ready. I felt the same exact way about Interview- it's soo good tho
ooh.. adding to list
It's one that will definitely make you think. I think you'd like it!
Dresden!!!
Love me some Dresden!
It's not this much simple. Your review seems too much superficial....Also, the name that made you laugh is not Fanny day, it's Fancy Day....
Everyone reads books differently. That's the beauty of reading. Perhaps you found things deeper in your reading of the book, and my reading was on a "simpler" ( your words not mine) level. It's okay to get different things out of the same book. That's why we are different people.
Hallo. Is the books spicy? Thanks for this vidio.
There is only slight spice in the second one. But not really. It's more about the romance - love - less about the sex.
If you've watched TNG and the movies then you'll LOVE Picard! And of course 7 from Voyager. 😊❤ So good!
I've only seen random episodes. Some had Picard and Geordie in them but I was never a sit down and watch them all fan.
@TheLiteraryApothecary I've watched TNG twice (not including when it was on TV...but I did watch it then with my parents), DS9 twice, and Voyager and Enterprise once. TOS has had multiple viewings over the years. Haha. The movies we rewatch every couple of years. We even watch the animated TOS. Lol. It's so cheesy. We're slowly watching the current season of Discovery. Gotta get back to Strange New Worlds soon. Lower Decks is hilarious! You should give that a watch.
I’ve had PRINCE OF THORNS for forever and still haven’t read it yet 😂 WOW….that is a pristine hardback of TURN COAT - you struck gold there!
I really want to dive into some Mark Lawrence .... eventually. Lol. And yes see what I mean?! I was like 25 cents. What?! This has to be a mistake. Even checked my receipt to see what I was actually charged - sure enough 25 cents... I'll take it!
I have The Prince of Thorns trilogy. Good find.
Yeeess to all of this! I have been meaning to reread this one and binge the trilogy, but it just keeps getting away from me. Needs to happen, I miss the cute dragon fun and Percy!!
Cute baby Dragons are the most fun 🥰
These are definitely on my radar! Thanks for the review!
Awesome! Hope you love them when you get to them, Joe!
Yes yes yes for Liar's Knot, Frankenstein and Lady Trent!! And The Winter of the Witch is absolutely one of the best finales I have ever read, such a satisfying ending. I really need to try Middlegame though, it's been on my TBR for ages!
Middlegame yess you'd love so much!
I just got these books and look forward to reading them! Great review.
I hope you love them! The first one was a lot of fun.
A few of these books are on my TBR. Jade War, Senlin Ascends, and the Fifth Season. Thanks for sharing!
I hope you love them as much as I did, Palmer!
Nice new additions to the list! I have read all of these but for the first two, and I totally agree that they are worthy of the hype they have gotten. Especially Jade War and The Starless Sea are big faves of mine, and I am desperate for new works from those authors!
Thank you! ☺️
great intro!
Thanks Jake! ☺️
will definitely read it!
@@sara_gallegoa I hope you enjoy it!
No dragons were harmed in the writing of this book - 🤣 I wanted to read this one based on the super cute cover, but like you, I was scared it might be a sad story since the little dragon is all by himself.
@@TheNerdyNarrative I thought you'd like that line 😅🤣 Yes. I have read Joe's other books which are really really good but sad... happy to report little dragon eats many pies. 😋
You will learn more and more about the Skill, the Wit, and the Fool as the entire RotE progresses. I'm working on my first re-read and it's fascinating how there will be one liners here a d there that are clues and hints to things that happen in the last trilogy. On my first read I loved it as her prose is just beautiful. Favorite characters-Fitz, Burrich, Nosy
I expect this. I just wanted more in the first book to feel more invested.
Honestly really appreciate your honest review of such a massively hyped book!! I read it a bit earlier in my reading journey when I was still quite impressionable and easily swayed by other people's opinions, so I feel like I may have talked myself into liking it more than I actually did. That said, I genuinely consider Hobb one of my absolute favourites now, and I think it truly only gets better with each book. Curious to see how your journey continues!
I was like it's not bad. I just expected so much more and then when I mentioned that people were like well it is the first book. But when I was starting it no one said like this is first book so it's not as strong as the others like they do with other series. I think a lot of people are Hobb-blind and I get it. I don't know how much my opinion would have changed going in. But I am enjoying Royal Assassin more and starting to see what people were talking about.
(I'm also not a fan of series where you have to read the entire series to fully appreciate book 1. Like I get I won't get little hidden things or some foreshadowing. But IMO I shouldn't have to read the entire series to appreciate book 1. Kind of one of few reading pet peeves lol)
@@TheLiteraryApothecary Totally get that, I feel like I am personally also guilty of doing that with Hobb because when you have read 16 books by her it almost becomes impossible to think back to the beginning and realise that she started out a little bit wobbly.
@@TheLiteraryApothecary and I couldn't agree more with this pet peeve, though I also feel like Assassin's Apprentice isn't one of those books that falls into this category. Sure, you can enjoy it more when you are fully in love with the characters and world on a reread, but I think it also has a lot of merits on its own already. It's not a malazan case lol
The first book is weak-ish. Every book is a slow burn, and it will take every book in the series to get the full picture. 😂😂 I hope you'll enjoy the other books better. Royal Assassin is really good.
I really enjoyed it my first time through. My love for Fitz and the Fool is great. Kettricken is great, too (for me).
I’ve been looking forward to this! Great review! I agree with a lot of your points. I was a bit underwhelmed with AA the first time I read it but I felt like the later books just keep getting better. I appreciated AA way more on reread once I had the complete story. I hope you keep enjoying these, and I am here for all the thoughts as you go through the series!! ❤❤
💚💚💚
Thise one almost got lost in my watch later list, oops. Anywayyy, YES Just Mercy is so good, still one of the most memorable memoirs to me. And Dorian Gray is also in my top 3 classics! Little Women is a story I have only consumed through the 2019 adaptation, and I enjoyed that so much that I am nervous to pick up the book lol.
Just Mercy was just so eye opening. So glad i read that - and i think the very first book i reviewed knmy channel. Dorian Gray is just so revolutionary for its time. And you know. I'd say Little Women is one of few that is just as good in any consumption. I saw an adaptation first and read the book years later. Both were great. 💚💚
@@TheLiteraryApothecary couldn't agree more with all of this!! And that's wonderful to hear about Little Women, will definitely bump it up the classics priority list ;))
Loved hearing all your thoughts! ❤
Thanks Stephanie ☺️
🎉🎉congratulations, so happy for you. God killer sounds interesting and it is a nice cover.
congrats on graduating! thats amazing🥳 godkiller does have a gorgeous cover. i dont know any of these books but i hope theyre great
Thanks Connor! ☺️
Congratulations 😊First time watching your channel
Thanks and welcome!!
❤❤❤
Nice review! I’m about to finish Crossroads of Twilight (on my first read of the series) and am excited to see how it ends
I also came out of this still not in love with Rand. 😂 This book irritated me because it was basically a 900 page battle, but it did have some really good moments. This book did not need to be this long. I agree that the length of chapters got tiresome. I agree about Michael Kramer. He is not my favorite narrator. lol. Great review! I cannot wait for the series review. Congrats on finishing! It is such a journey! 🎉🎉🎉
Ooooh I really need to read All the Light We Cannot See (so cool that you met him!) and The Bell Jar. Also, consider me totally sold on Night, that sounds harrowing but so impactful.
Yes. My MFA program brought in a writer in each genre (fiction, nonfiction and poetry) every year for a week for students to learn from. It was my favorite part of that program. You will absolutely love the Bell Jar. Night is an incredible read but very harrowing. 💚💚💚 sorry not sorry to add to your tbr 😅
@@TheLiteraryApothecary That is so cool about your MFA program, I don't think we have anything like that here in The Netherlands!!
