"Waking up each morning is a gift," I heard an elderly gentleman say to his friend as I shuffled by.
The poignant phrase resonates within me. A morning routine once considered mundane, now revered as a miracle to see another day.
Fascinating how words traveling through the air can impact a passerby.
The very existence of each one of us interlinks and profoundly inspires others in ways we can't imagine, even through times we feel most insignificant.
Each month I capture the moon and feature it in my videos. It may be the same moon but some night it's peeking through the trees or illuminating under an angry cluster of clouds. The night sky is a changing landscape like my garden.
In the day, I mingle with plants and animals. At night, I spy on the stars in the sky.
I’m simply valuing each precious moments I’m given here on this "Pale Blue Dot" (Sagan, 1994).
Thank you for visiting my channel. I hope you enjoy the little glimpse of my universe.

February's Full Moon got its name Snow Moon because of the amount of snow that falls in this month. Where I am located in Northern California, we don't get snow, instead we get atmospheric river storms. We're coming out of the cold season, and I am very busy starting seeds and planning out projects to work on for this year. Come see what's happening in my garden this month.

Why are you wasting flour on that?
old flour been sitting on the counter
Thanks for this! 😊 i was wondering about how i should properly dispose of used cooking oil in my compost .. very helpful
Pluck it
Thanks for this video, I had doubts if the chickens would use these nipples
This looks amazing!
Didn't you remove the Cambium?
No I didn't
I wish my garden looked like this! What a bountiful harvest! Your hard work paid off!
Hi sis I hope I will get lots of 🍀 luck
Good luck!!
Ooooh! Yes!! I'm all kinda lucky today!! All that should last me months of blessings!! Happy St. Patrick's Day 🍀

I could find them like this when I was younger, but I've only found 2 in probably a decade. MS sucks.
@@TR1P0DL1F3 When you find one 4-leaf clover, keep searching in the same patch. Most likely the stolons are connected.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Thanks! I would not use food for disposal. I would only use it if it turned bad already. Otherwise, I would use used paper and other compostable waste material.
Really cool!!
Thank you!
I was hoping to see it done without a liner. Nice to see a hill pond though!
Inspired by Sepp Holzer, I wanted to do it without liners. The person I hired to help out told me it can't be done... Looking back, he was selling his liners!
Wow Pouch you the one that firming , I really enjoy Watching your videos so much.
Glad you like them!❤❤❤
Wow ❤ It looks delicious 👍🏼👍🏼 😍😍😍

Hello, what month did you set up the marcotte and how long did you leave them? Thank you.
Hi, I set it up in July 2021. In Apr 2022 I decided to remove it from the main tree. That was about 9 months.
@@44LBS ok thanks
OMG this is Perfect video. I had a great time with beautiful ladies. Best memories ever.
The best!
just beautiful!!-love,Annalisa
Thank you!
If this works....game changer! Thanks!
Food waste or smell of food will attract rodents. Just make sure its in a compost bin that they can't access. I have 2 green bins that the city provided for my yard waste. I don't put it out to be hauled away, instead I throw everything that's compostable in there. If you have something you can drill a drainage hole or install a spout, it's best. That way you can collect and use the rendered liquid as fertilizer.
Best method I've seen so far. 👍
Thanks!
All the rain this winter killed my soursop of 7 or 9 years I grew from seed. Now I’ll multiple this pain by # of trees you had to say goodbye to…it sure is sad.
So many years invested! We need to make plans for the next trees...
Hi sis how are you doing today You look busy all the time

Sorry but your ‘contractor ‘ kept lying to you …….. sounds like a con man
I hired him assuming he was legit after hearing him brag about being certified by Greg Wittstock, The Pond Guy. He showed up the first day with a car full of men that he picked up from Home Depot and instructed them to dig a hole, then he left for the day. I realized I made a big mistake. I could have done that myself without being specialized in pond making! He used scraps for the underlayment, the bottom was not completely covered. I have it on camera. I don’t have time now but when I do get the chance I will figure away to redo it myself.
So sorry to hear that.. it happens to us all at some time in our lives. . But don’t worry .. this will just be a bad memory which will eventually fade and be replaced by a wonderful natural ecosystem full of water and life …. Good luck.

Thank for this video it's short sweet to the point with NO talking 👍👍
I have that u should cut the stem down in half so that it doesn’t grow so high with leaves at the top? Do u ever do that to the plant?
Hi Deborah, yes you are correct! The big leaves get very heavy and the young stem can not support its weight. It’s a good idea to cut back as this will encourage multiple branch growth from the sides. I did not cut mine. I left it as is. The plant died back at the top from transplant shock. It has recovered since then. I do plan to get some scion and graft on the tree in the future.
@@44LBS Thanks for responding so quickly. Can u plz expand on what you mean using scion and grafting.
@@deborahsimmons3370 Scions are cuttings of live plants. They are usually 4-6 inches long and the girth is the size of a pencil. Most growers will acquire higher quality avocado scion to graft meaning to attach the cuttings to the seedlings grown from seeds. Many growers have experience poor quality fruits from trees grown from seeds so this is why people like to graft. Lots of videos out there you can search and learn more about it. I have not done a video on grafting but I have successfully grafted a magenta crabapple onto a pear tree, just because I wanted to do it!
That's what I do too just do it
👌🏼❤️thank you
Wow thank you for the tip. I just started growing avocado using a toothpick. I will definitely get those cups and transfer them. Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
can we see the full tree? with the fruit?
I don't understand your question. If it's in regard to these seedlings, it'll be another 8-10 years before the tree bear fruit.
Was it a success bro?
Yes, the pond is still here. I will make an update video when I have the chance.
I would love to try these. Can you tell me where I can find them near San Jose, CA?
Just saw your message. You can find these almost in any water way. Especially now that we are in a drought, the receding water have exposed these clams where you would never see them before. Go to reservoirs. Thats where I find them.
That is smart
Thank You!
Thank you so much I have caught and cooked these clams before but they tasted terrible but I tried this recipe and it was great so thank you!
You are so welcome!
You have a great crew helping out. Always nice to see the young ones getting involved. Priceless memories. 🇺🇸👍😎⛏🍀
Hi Geno! Yes, I agree! The children had a fabulous time.
Hi, where is this?
Angela Schmidt Hi! It’s Rio Vista Delta.
Hi, I'm glad to see this. Could you please share the exact location?
@@DaneSavot Hi! The San Francisco Bay Estuary is flooded with Asian Clams. I don’t know how to tell you the exact location of this one spot that we found but it is along the Delta in Rio Vista north of the bridge. If I was there now, I'd send you my location via cell phone. They thrive in sandy, muddy bottoms so look out for that. When you’re scouting make sure to find a safe area for the kids as the water is known to be quite dangerous. People pass by on jet skis, boats, etc and makes big waves which can pull anyone under. Good Luck. And tell me about your adventure!
Very nice pond...concrete? You made it? What size? I see Bass in there raised to be eaten? They let you just pull out the Lotus in that park pond? Or is it a friends? Anyways I get you...you can save a fortune knowing the right people for free plants happily given away. Especially in Asian herbal plants that are hard to find for sale.
Hi Stan! It's ~ 10'x33'. We started digging ourselves then hired a company thinking they'll have a professional team... The contractor arrived with men from HomeDepot to work and left the scene. I gave away free money to the middle man when I could have done that myself! Contractor persuade me to get liner (it was easier for him). Originally, I wanted a natural pond, the Sepp Holzer style. Yes. Bass, Rainbow Trout, Blue Gill, Cat fish. Raise for food. But I'm Vegan now. I still have the options when it comes to survival. I should have noted that these plants were offered to me. Lotus pond is at a wedding venue. Owner wanted it out because in the winter it is not attractive and brides don't want to take pictures with a sad pond.
@@44LBS Thanks for the answer. I paid like $50 for less Lotus then you had in that bucket years ago. I don't have a pond anymore. Wish I did. 10x33 is huge for a backyard pond..do a video on it. I would watch!
Stan TheObserver I’m renovating the chicken coop right now, securing bottom and all around to keep predators out. Once I’m done, I’ll get an updated video on the pond out for you. I should be filming this project as well! So much to do, I just want to get it done.
Too much shade. You needed to move it closer to that sunny hot fence. Or wall. Its too close to the greedy pine.
Greedy pine is long gone. The pine beetle got to it. I was told to keep it in a spot with morning light and afternoon shade. I don't want it near my neighbor's fence, they might complain. I'll scout for a new location for it where it's safe from frost. Thanks!
@@44LBS You were given very bad advice. Mangoes love the hottest, burning spot you can find..and water them well in summer. I worked in Horticulture and don't mind saying.,nobody will correct me they like it hot!. In fact since growing them in Hayward since 2006? plant more than one. It's going to be a decade wait for one tree to have many fruits..so plant 3,4,5,. In full sun!
@@StanTheObserver-lo8rx Yes, I plan to get more. I wanted to be certain that they survive in my location. It's been 3 yrs now. I will get more ASAP.
The last Mango killing cold for young tree's was 2007 and maybe 2012. Its been good ever since. In 2012,I threw plastic over it on sticks and put a light bulb..incandescent in there on an extension cord. That tree was perfect and right now is 12-14' tall. The best time to plant a mango was 20 years ago- wink (old saying)..so enjoy the fruits of your labor faster with more tree's. Don't have to be the same variety. Glenn,I hear is very good in the bay area and Baileys Marvel is a FAST grower for a mango tree in the bay area.
Stan TheObserver Thanks! Those two varieties will be on my list!
Thats such a good idea :O functional and pretty hehe im gonna try this
Thank you!
what did you put the plums in pepper? seeds water?
Salt water is to preserve the fruit. Sugar and pepper flakes were added for additional flavors and to give it a kick.
Will these clean the pond water? What is the value of having them in the pond? Will you be able to harvest these?
Hi, I am experimenting. I hope they thrive so that I can harvest when I do want to eat. Clams have bivalves which allows them to help clean and filter your pond water. I will do a follow up video of whatever the outcome will be.
@@guest2115 I've been absent from UA-cam.... So the update, the raccoons had a delicious feast and left the empty shells for us :(
@@44LBS That's probably for the best, as Asian clams are considered an invasive species in the US. (Plenty other parts of the world, too, but I digress.) You likely could've gotten in pretty serious legal trouble if you'd gotten caught introducing them to a new body of water.
Wow thanks this is super smart! You deserve more subscribers!! :>
