Unit 5 and friends ceilidh item - RSCDS Summer School 2024 Week 2
The Friday Ceilidh item from Summer School's Unit 5 candidates and friends.
Choreographed by Niall Bootland (OUSDS Beginners' Class Teacher).
A medley of two dances inspired by the theme of following in the footsteps of our Unit 5 tutors. The first dance, a jig, has the curious title 'Circulus Osculans' (from the newly published book of dances 'The Oxford Collection', in support of OUSDS) while the final reel is appropriately named 'Controlled Abandon', a play on words for the central diagonal reels formation based on Miss Milligan's well-known phrase, both devised by Niall Bootland.

Wild night in Oxford!
Nicely done! Congratulations to the performers and their teachers/coaches. I also want to recognize these young people's parents and the sacrifices they made to allow their children to pursue dance. Thank you all for a lovely performance. I literally broke into applause as it ended.
