This is my 1985 K10 Scottsdale that I built to K30 strength with boxed frame, extra cross members, rear disc brakes, king pin D60 front, GM 14 bolt rear, 35’s, 4.11’s and a completely rebuilt 24 valve Cummins 5.9 coupled to an NV4500 with NP205 transfer case. Took 2 years and 2 months from conversion start to rolling out of the barn. Very happy with it so far.

Logging my own property. I set the wedges because the tree seemed neutral and had some limbs tangled with another tree up top. Wanted to be able to push it hard if I had to. As it turned out she came down without a hitch, better to be prepared than get in a pinch. Good day in the woods even though the humidity was near 90%.🥵

Only change from last video is I installed an unlimited coil and tuned it to it’s true potential. I think the owner is going to be very pleased....I want to buy it from him now lol.

Machined and ported by North Woods Saw Shop (aka Me). After full mods the saw felt as though it needed more fuel. Got into the carb, made some adjustments and put a fresh kit in and it came to life. Very happy with the power my 288 is putting down now. NorthWoodsSawShop@gmail.com

Machined, ported, timing advanced, second port added to muffler. Pulls very well, good lugging torque. But, I need to get rid of the rev limited coil so this saw can come alive up top. More to come on this one. NorthWoodsSawShop@gmail.com

Went through this saw for my friend. Ported for work, machined, carb modified. Still need to swap out the limited coil which I will get in a couple weeks. Feels like a completely different saw. Same bar, chain and log as previous video. NorthWoodsSawShop@gmail.com

Timing advance, muffler mod and max flow filter. No porting, machine work or carb mod. Good running saw for being nearly stock.

Same saw, chain rakers lowered to put extra load on the saw.

I got a lathe so I tore this saw back down to do machine work and redo the porting. Turned out very strong, pried hard a couple times and it kept cutting down to 8k rpm before the chain stalled. Very happy. This recipe is a keeper.

Same saw as last 394XP video. My friend said he was happy but I wasn’t. Sent the cylinder to Rattler work saws for a base and band cut, then i readjusted the ports accordingly. NOW it runs the way it should. Can tell by how it feels that it will pull a long bar with authority. Thanks for the machine work Mike!!!!! Runs strong

Saw is ported by me, no machine work, both carbs stock. Times don’t determine a clear advantage in my opinion, variation in operation and the wood getting larger after every cut could account for the difference. I would call these carbs pretty even with a short bar. They both felt really good. Next step is to modify them both to see what difference it can make...if any.
