Hey y'all. Welcome to the Feathered Heart! I'm so excited to share with you my craft channel. I call myself a creatist because I have such a desire to create anything. You, and even I, don't know what I will come up with next. I just love to use my imagination and make it come to life. I really hope you follow me on my journey as I embark on the (scary for me) journey of vlogging. It will be a process, that's for sure and I know I will grow more and more comfortable as time goes on. I cant wait to start sharing my vidoes and plan to start with 1 a week. Please hang in there while I figure out camera qualities and video editing and with time, I will get it all figured out! So thank you for taking time to check out my channel!
Leather Journal Process-SUNFLOWER 2024
In this video, I will show my step by step process to creating my Leather Sunflower Journal. This Sunflower Leather journal will add a unique touch to your journal collection. Personalize it for that perfect gift or to have something special for yourself. Make that bookshelf or desk come alive with color as this journal not only serves its purpose to house all your journaling/sketching, but to decoratively enhance the space its in!
My specially-designed flap journals are created with an elastic system so your journal is refillable/reusable for as long as you want to enjoy it!
How I make my journals:
I start by creating my journal designs on my iPad Pro with the program “Procreate”. Once the design is complete, I create outlines of the journal and send them to my lightburn software to then cut and engrave the journal with my laser machine onto veg-tanned leather. Once all the lasering is complete, I dye the leather and/or paint to get the finished look!

Front is gud but what about backside??? Didn't it looks weird from backside because of thermocol???
@@akankshapandey1305 hi there!! The backside has the Styrofoam, but it is covered with glitter to make it prettier. There are other things you can do to cover it if you want, but that is what I did. It looks ok actually. Hope this inspires you to make something pretty.

Great tutorial, but the music is distracting while you're talking. Some people have auditory issues and it can really be a problem.

Couldn't you have moved the cage to the front, or was it transparent?
Great question. I am assuming you were talking about the elements that were coming through the cage details. The cage was already on the top layer but because I lowered it’s opacity, other elements would still show through, even if they were underneath of it. Hope that answers your question. Which program do you use to create your digital papers ?
I use Procreate!! It’s an iOS program!
Where did you find the distressed edges file? I need that!
Hi! I created that myself and saved it as a png file (meaning it has a transparent background). Then I can reuse whenever I want and change the color with the hue/saturation tool! Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

Hi, glad you enjoyed the video. You can use any images you want if making papers for yourself. If you want to use images to make papers to sell, just make sure your images are royalty free. A great place to start is Pixabay. The digital program I use is procreate for iPad. But there are a lot of great programs out there depending on your computer or tablet. Have fun and good luck.

Yes, if you want to sell what you create, the images must be royalty free. But there is plenty out there. You can also buy images if it’s worth it to you.

When selecting images or paper from internet do you have to make sure it’s high resolution? Or once you import it to procreate it takes resolution of that canvas? I love this video. Thanks
Most free images, from pixabay for example, are generally available in a resolution that will work for a PDF size. All of those same images are purchasable if you need a larger size with good resolution. It will tell you the highest resolution available for download when you do click on it. But for the purposes of making some designs for yourself, what they have available is generally sufficient. But like I said, if you need better resolution, your digital program will show the quality of the image for the size canvas you need. You will be able to tell. I hope that that helps. Hi! I typically just do one design per project file but I do them just for me at this point. You can do as many as you want depending on the canvas size and the maximum layers allowed for that canvas. There’s usually a lot of elements so one design per canvas is what I like.
