Fun downhill ride on 3 Mile Smile. It's about 5 miles from the Late Night parking lot to the top of the trail. It's pretty much all uphill or all downhill but it's not very steep. I enjoyed it.

Where is this at ? Beautiful place, i have a 2020 Yamaha kodiak 700 eps, and would to love to ride that trail.
This is in Divide, CO on the 717 trail system.
Did you have to make any other cockpit adjustments besides raising your seat 10mm?
No, the seat was the only thing that I adjusted.
Where is this trail
It's in Pueblo, CO
Are the MtB trails marked or is it hiking also..id hate to come up on a hiker
They are multi-use trails so there are hikers and sometimes horseback riders too.
Good one! In my Ripmo AF I'm gonna swap shimano XT 175 mm with 160 (impossible to get!) or 165 mm
I'm happy with my 165. I hardly have any pedal strikes anymore and I don't get saddle sore like I used to. The shorter cranks do take away some of the torque on rock climbs so consider that when deciding on a length.
Did you only just change the weights and nothing else?
That's correct
I miss these old Kodiak videos...
*PromoSM*
Hey there got a couple questions. Did you notice any difference between the top speed with the 2 sets of weights ? Also are you on 25’ tires? Thank you
I don't really test my top speed so it didn't make any difference in my case. My tires are 26"
Hey there got a couple questions. Did you notice any difference between the top speed with the 2 sets of weights? Also are you on 25’ tires? Thank you
I’m a little behind on a couple ??’s ,, I’m asking is this a good machine over all to trail ride , I been thinking about getting A KODIAK 700 ,, ?? If you need the 4 wheel drive is there ,, does the four wheel drive seem lacking or is it pretty good if you need it at time , , have you had any major issues with this machine over all ,, with trail riding or pulling a small trailer , I’m not big with heavy mud ,, just regular trailer riding & maybe pull a small trailer around light duty work ,, I see it can handle 1,300 hundred pound but I do not need to pull 1,300 hundred pounds, just maybe 200 at a time
This is a great machine for trail riding. It has enough power to stay in high gear most of the time. The 4wd is great and I haven't had any problems with it at all. The stock tires are the only negatives for me. They're very soft from a lateral stability standpoint. Once I changed to the Tusk Mudforce tires the trail riding experience was incredible. Good luck with yours!
@@coloradokodiak7009 thank you for answering
So i am about to put on some 31 inch outlaws should u do this or a full clutch kit?
It depends on how touchy you want the throttle to be. With just the weights the throttle is quicker but it doesn't jump at the first touch. There's still a long, controllable throttle curve. Good luck with your 31's.
Sweet! Come across your videos reviewing the Kodiak, now it's in my driveway and I'm watching your videos in anticipation of tomorrow. Gave her a good rip earlier of course.
It's a great machine!
@coloradokodiak7009 Just finished putting 50 miles on it, in the cold and rain and had a blast
@@ec6052 I really enjoy mine. I love how it has enough power in high gear to pretty much go anywhere. The only time that I change into low gear is when I want to go slow.
Where's the Kodiak 700?
I hadn't ridden it in a while because I didn't have a way of transporting it. Now I can haul it again and I just put out a new video.
@@coloradokodiak7009 oh that's great! My friend has a 2021 SE model, and so I love them. I own a '05 KingQuad 700 and am a mountainbike guy as well
@@FullsendOffroad Sweet!!! I was looking at the KingQuad when I was deciding what to buy. The Kodiak was better priced so I went that way. I picked up mountain biking about a year ago and I love it. The strength gained from biking helps when riding atv's too.
@@coloradokodiak7009 I see. Kingquads are more in my opinion and better since they are smoother and more durable and faster but I've ridden both and Kodiak has better tech (not too little but noth too much) that the KQ could use. Plus Kodiaks ride is slightly better in my opinion. I do UA-cam videos on my quad as well. But yeah Mountain biking is great, even as for a beginner I like just cruising around but i really enjoy speeding downhill on paved roads going fast... makes me feel like I'm on a Motorcycle. Even though I can't legally drive yet I do sometimes go on motorcycle rides with my dad and going down those hills make me feel like I'm the driver... it's a great feeling. Once I'm 18 I'm promising myself some old used motorcycle, Looking mostly for Suzuki Boulevard C50.
@@FullsendOffroad You'd probably like downhill mountain bike parks. I personally stay away from road bikes and motorcycles because other drivers on the road are so bad.
Are those speed bumps or did the dirt bike guys design the trails for themselves? Looks like Rampart Range, not the best for heavy ATV riding.
They're motorcycle whoops and they certainly change the riding experience. This is in the Divide trails which is right across the valley from Rampart.
How is your DVO suspension set up ? I’ve had trouble getting dialed in
I started at the DVO rec settings and it's been good for me. I gained a little weight over the winter and my rear suspension is kind of soft now and I like it. I might try some more OTT but I'm happy with it so far. Good luck getting to your happy place!

ya have too much air in em you should have about 5 pounds front and back
My Neighbor had two just like that I roded and it like to jump up a lot
When I hit the gas
The ride would be much smoother and easier for the four-wheeler if you just put it in two wheel drive and only four-wheel-drive when you need it. Driving on four-wheel drive long periods of time ain't the greatest on the motor it makes it more hot runs it harder
Thanks for the tip! I ride 2wd more now but when I want to ride fast I put it in 4wd. The turning response is just a lot quicker.
@@coloradokodiak7009 when in 2 wheel drive if you want to make faster turns give it a little bit of gas where the back wheels spin a little bit and it helps you turn faster. When I go fast that's when I turn my four-wheel drive off LOL everybody does it different I guess. I have a 2020 700 Kodiak
I see what your saying for sure. But the stock tires also don’t grip as much either. So that’s the trade off I think.
These tires have held up well. There was some initial wear but it hasn't really gotten much worse after another 800 miles. I really like them.
How you like the stability of the bike? They're 2" narrower than the grizzly. How much of a difference does that make, do you think?
The stock tires were soft and stability felt sketchy on off camber trails so I bought some Tusk MudForce tires and now the stability is outstanding.
Thank you so much for the reply! I'm throwing some ITP blackwaters on my future Kodiak 700 eps
2005 Suzuki KingQuad 700 Rider Here. it's so cool how different Colorado Trails are different from Pennsylvania and New York. It's crazy. I've been to Colorado and it's beautiful there, and also that trail looks like many hiking trails there, mostly true with New York and Pennsylvania. I subscribed wanting to see much more of those Colorado Trails. If you would see my videos (Especially AOAA) you would see all of the Terrain there is in Pennsylvania. Really differs from Colorado.
I agree. I wish I could tour the country and experience all the types of trails. I'll check out your channel.
That thing is a dog lol. My brute would eat that thing.
Awesome trail man. Love trails in the mountains. Have lots of riding around me but it's all flat and main logging roads for the most part. New sub today, btw.
Could just see a quick glimpse of it walking off to the right.
Yeah, in my peripheral vision I could see it better but I surprised it and myself.
Awesome video! What a beautiful area, and perfect weather for that ride. Sudden sneaky uphill spots with rocks and snow where you can't really stop and put it in low. The Kodiak's great engine braking came in handy there too. Thanks for video!
Thanks for watching! The weather was about 50F.
Great video! I would to come up and ride that area! Is that in southern part of Colorado?
Thank you! Yes, it's close to Canyon City, CO and I agree, you should ride there.

Is that stock ? Are you happy with your purchase ?
Stock tires ?
Are you still happy with the Kodiak ? Do you wish you went Grizzly instead ?
Hello. I'm very happy with my Kodiak. I've never ridden a Grizzly so I don't know what I'm missing. I did change the clutch weights to the ones the Grizzly uses and I've changed the tires and added a rear cargo box. Other than that it is still stock.
Are you still happy with it ?
Thanks for the video. I'm curious how your rear bolts are holding up? I'm talking about the two bolts that hold the rear of the box down. I've been to Hatfield McCoy twice with mine and the bolts broke through the bottom on both sides. It's not a very good design. I'm not overly rough with it. The front mounting setup is great - uses two bolts per side with a metal plate underneath. The rear bolts just have a washer that's about 1mm larger than the bolt head. It makes it too easy for the bolt to work on the plastic and eventually break through. There's not enough surface area to take the stress.
Thanks for the heads up. Mine have held up so far but I'll take a look to see if I can reinforce it before something bad happens.
That area is gorgeous with the pine trees, snow and blue sky. Looks like Okanagan in British Columbia, Canada where I live, except Colorado has those huge boulders which are awesome. Great video. Thanks!
I'm sure that I would love riding in Okanagan. Thanks for the compliment!
Will a gas jug fit in it???
As long as it meets those measurements. I personally wouldn't put one in there because of the fumes. You can strap it to the front rack.
Thats a good point thanks for making it . But seems to me its a nice thing to have for carrying stuff . Great video and thanks 🇺🇸👍🏻
What is its top speed and how comfortable over fast whoops is it (25 mph or faster)?
I haven't tried to find out the top speed. I think 45mph is as fast as I've ridden it. For the Whoops it depends on the size of them. If I stand up I can get over them a lot faster.
I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of these for my Grizzly 700. Do you recommend them? How did they ultimately hold up?
Hello. I really like the performance of the tires but they do seem to be wearing down too fast. I ride on rocky trails and I run about 7.5psi in the tires so that may contribute to the wear. 800 miles on them so far. I'm sure I can get another 800.
@@coloradokodiak7009 thanks for the reply. I live in Nevada so I’m no stranger to rocky trails, lol! At that price, replacement wouldn’t be that bad if they do wear out fast.
@@losbush I would love to ride some of the sand dunes that you have in Nevada.
Do u need to mess with grease or anything if u are only changing out the weights ?
Hey Dude, I had the shop change out my clutch weights so I don't have any personal experience with the process. I would think that you want the weights to have a good coating of grease on them.
Man that 686 sounds so much better than my 2018 708. I wish i had waited before picking up my 18 over a 19. Just about everything seems better with the updated version since 2019.
I rode one of the 708 Kodiaks and it didn't have the same power as my 686. Not even close. It's possible that the one I rode needed some tuning but I was surprised.
@@coloradokodiak7009 i dont't think so a buddy of mine just bought a 20 ans he let me try it and to me it seemed the 686 is a little bit more snappy on low end
