Attention Delaware Voters! The Primary Election Party Change Deadline is May 24, 2024. Delaware is a Closed Primary State. You must be registered with the Democratic or Republican Party in order to vote in the Primary Election of the Party you choose. Registered voters who wish to vote in the Primary Election but need to change their party in order to vote must change their party to the party of their choice. Only registered voters affiliated with a party holding a primary election may vote in that party's primary election. If you need to change your party in order to vote in the Primary Election, submit a new voter registration application with your new party affiliation to your County Elections Office by Friday, May 24, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. You may change your political party affiliation online at ivote.de.gov. You may change your political party affiliation by downloading and printing a form from the DOE website, de.gov/vrapp. Mark your NEW party, sign your name and submit your completed form to the DOE. You may change your party in person at a Department of Elections office (in Wilmington, Dover, or Georgetown) during regular business hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except holidays.
