He had an eye for aesthetics - in his painting and otherwise. Greatly missed in the wildlife artist milieu !

Pretty mad that he bought 2 big engines and a section of railway in his 30s! However it was quite sensible to choose young-ish BR Standards in good fettle, plenty of spares available, so they were fairly trouble free for a couple of decades.

There’s something Magical about the Name Evercreech Junction to me, I think it was watching those Ivo Peters movies with Jon Betjeman many years ago. Some of that Magic is evident here, Definite Skills on show 👍🏻

Absolutely love this! I’m presently making extra smoke oil storage for smoke units. (Not a job for the faint hearted!) My Queen Elizabeths twin chimneys now run for 30 minutes on 50 drops of smoke oil!!

I like the Bentley parked at the end of the platform. As I watch I am actually doing a picture of the S&D at Bath Green Park. With a balding middle aged man standing on the platform and photographing the 2P waiting to depart.

Those guys on the quarry face are a clear reminder of why British Industry has all but ceased to exist. They need to be got rid of and some Polish labour bought in, they never moved a muscle

A whole world gone, recreated. that must have taken years to build..absolutely brilliant. Have a look at my G1 track...Lost railways of lincolnshire, film by Peter Jackson...took me 8 months to build working on it almost every day.

What a brilliant layout - it took me a while to be sure it wasn't real!

A lovely and talented man I had the pleasure to meet at th Gloucestershire and Warwickshire railway. I already had a couple of his wildlife prints and we chatted about Africa as i had been to many of the major wildlife areas.. I bought a couple of his Etchings and a print of 'last days of steam ' which he signed for me, then arranged for me to have a look around the footplate of Black Prince.. A more charming and dedicated man you couldn't wish to meet ..i was truly sorry to hear of his passing.. There are very few like him left ......
