I’ve triangled a person before but not at this tournament, my next step is to work on my chokes and hopefully one day get them to sleep 😴😴😴

@@aleks_an OMG that is Amazing Aleks, I will root for you as you continue your journey and espeically root for you to work on your chokes and one day put your opponents to sleep! Why do you think it is better to put them to sleep than just to get them to tap out? 😊

@@ejta12222 bragging rights, but safety always comes first! When competing make sure to let go when they tap BUT only when the referee tells you to stop. Sometimes opponents fall asleep because they try to resist by not tapping, the choke is on tight, or the ref doesn’t catch it. Making sure to tap is important, because the moment you fall asleep, your rate of resisting chokes drops. It’s a fun sport, but at the end of the day we don’t want anyone getting hurt.

@@aleks_an That's awesome Aleks that you are concerned for your opponents safety! It definitely is amazing to watch a match where an oppionent gets choked out, but I definitely don't want them to be hurt either, as long as they are ok afterwards! So that seems like a bit of a dilemma though. Like if the opponent taps but the ref doesnt acknowledge it, do you still keep them in the submission even if you know they tapped? Wouldnt you feel bad if it made the opponent get really scared or put them in more pain because you kept the hold on even after they tapped? Does your coach tell you you have to keep the hold on until the ref stops the match? Wouldn't you be scared if an opponent didn't stop the match after you tap out and it might cause you to fall asleep or end up with a broken arm or some other injury? @@aleks_an There was one match i saw with Bethany Guthard where she had the opponent in a smother "mother's milk" submission. The opponent tapped out and the ref didnt acknowledge it, and Bethany kept it on. The opponent started SCREAMING for dear life and yelling "I CANT breathe", and Bethany kept the hold on and the ref didn't stop it. finally the opponetn tapped and the ref acknowledged it and let her go. I can only imagine that the opponent must've gotten so scared and panicked that she didn't realize she should tap again. The scream was really kind of blood curdling and I just wonder if a situation like that happened, if you would just say ok she's not really giving her consent to be in this hold anymore, and I should just let her out and the match will be over, or does the opponent HAVE to tap again and be acknowledged by the ref, or go to sleep until the ref calls it? Also I wonder, like what about a situation where maybe both of the opponents arms are totally trapped and they literally can not tap out with their hands? Do you think you would take extra care to let them out of the hold as soon as they are asleep or injured, so that way the hold doesn't continue because the ref can't see their hands? I know that's a pretty rare situation but sometimes one competitor seems to get the opponent in a really dominant position. I'm sorry for all these questions, I just find this REALLY interesting, and so cool and appreciative that you have taken the time to respond to me. Thank you again, Aleks 😊
