Replacing the key switch on a Saturn vue 2.3l standard tranny, the key switch doesn’t turn the car off and needs stalled to turn off but after that everything shuts off correctly. After I replaced the key switch I could stall it by just hitting the brakes with the key off and also still had to replace the starter after seeing it had voltage on the other side of the bendix solenoid

When I looked at it, I approached it a lot differently and it's a lot simpler. 1. Disconnect the negative on the battery. You don't need any airbag action. 2. Drop the bottom part of the dash, it's only two screws on the bottom and and two pull-out clips on the top. Just take out the screws and pull toward you. 3. Push the steering wheel adjustment lever all the way down. Next, remove the three screws from the bottom bottom half of the steering column fairing. This makes the whole thing floppy which is what you want because now the that holds the key cylinder cover to the lock cylinder is able to get on an angle to make it release easier and the clips that hold the top piece are to where you can get at them but you might not have to because off-angle they don't clip so well. 3. Next take the two long bolts out that clamps the big aluminum piece to the steering column. This enables you to pull the assembly forward toward you. There is no need to remove the lock cable like he did. It is now in your hand and you can more easily fiddle with the blue plastic locking clips. You can press the tabs in with a small screwdriver while while you manipulate the blue plastic tabs up. If you can't quite get them all the way up you might not have to. Simply push down on the black locking tab and see if they will wiggle out. 4. Remove the two screws that attach the switch to the aluminum housing. Looking in at the end of it, notice the angle of the slot and make the new one the same angle and just put it in. 5. You can now push the blue tabs back in, and then clip the wires back in. The blue tabs in like that make the push-in a one-way trip and they are tough to get in if you try to push them in afterwards. 6. Put the two long clamping bolts back in almost all the way. Then rotate it as far as it will go in either direction, which isn't much, and then position it in the center and tighten the bolts. 7. Connect the negative on the battery terminal and see what you have. It would start fine. 8. Re-attach the bottom fairing of the steering column with the three screws. Press the rubber fairings around the blinkers and wipers to the inside. 9. Place the top over the bottom half and align the clips and their receivers and snap it to the lower. 10. Align the lock cylinder fairing with the slot and it will snap onto the lock cylinder housing. 11. Replace the lower part of the dash with two screws.now snap the clips back in position. You won't have any trouble. The part will not be available from the dealer because they don't make them anymore. I tried dealerships around town and got the same story. I couldn't find any at NAPA but I could at the Autozones for ~$82, more than the dealer charged, ~75, when they had them. Looking at it you would think it wouldn't cost more than ~$25. It's just a mechanical switch.

The audio is hard to understand- does anyone know exactly what he is using to cut the lattice? Is it an oscillating tool?

Yeah, it's an oscillating tool. If you don't have one, get one, they're very useful.

Just wondering why you didn’t sand and paint the railings first and your project. Not criticizing just curious. Does the lattice paint easily? Is vinyl? What kind of paint did you use?

This seemes to be exactly what I need to reinforce a small screened in porch that my pets have no respect for…I plan on putting the lattice at least across the bottom. The framing is mixed though with wood at the top and one wood center beam. The side framing is aluminum. I may have someone reframe idk. But using sheet metal screws is a great idea. Should work for both surfaces. And, because of the washers I’m hoping it’d be easy to remove for replacement or when I move.

I'm working on one of these right now. Dumb ass design on this pto clutch hub. Like you would never need to remove it because the belt broke the damn wires. A lip around the hub sure would make a huge difference so you can use a damn gear puller.

I agree! I later found that some of these have two set screws in the pulley grooves which is in my opinion . . A bit unusual
