I've done just for fun, and ready to do again with a new Tele in a week for cosmetic purposes only because squier name would never look as great as a fender name. No big deal, if anyone wants to buy a fender they should first get the guitar fully inspected, you know there are parts inside that will tell you if is a squier or fender. No more drama please.

Hi there from Italy. I've been playing guitars a lot: classical guitars (nylon strings), dreadnought (i have a Sigma from the eighties given me from a friend's father which sounds great), and electric. I bought a Standard Fender Stratocaster made in U.S.A. in 2008, i was young and wanted "the real thing" back then, and i still love it and play it. Today i bought my first Squier, a second hand telecaster model, because i wanted to own and play another Leo Fender invention, but at a reasonable price (i'm getting wiser with time). Your video is honest and impeccable in it's logic, at least to me. I wouldn't underestimate the power of logos and appereance when performing on stage (for some bands/artists actually looks like it's their main concern, and sometimes sounds like it's the only one). Also i think this matter differs if you are a rookie or an experienced player, or from another country. For example: when i was younger i felt legitimate having and playing a fender made in america, as a prestige thing, for which i sweated a lot of money to purchase. Today i'm older and more expert, and can spot a quality instrument (always talkin about factory made instruments), so i'm happy with Squier too, and my playing also got better. Still i believe things should be called each by its own name, otherwise it gets confusing. Personally, i always hated logos and brands, so if i had to customize the headstock, i would just make it blank and let the guitar do the talk, or i would put a "Squirter" decal just for fun and because it's a beautiful piece of female guitar. But i'll just keep it as it is, and maybe sell the fender since i feel a little robbed by looking at it now

Funny, because I put Fender decals on my Squiers, and I've put Squier decals on my nicer fender branded partscasters. I put a fender decal on my bullet mustang because i hated the cheap black text and wanted the swooshy look to go with all the mods I did. But I like to put Squier decals on my nicer Fender branded and All Parts necks because I love the old MIJ vintage correct Squiers used to make, and I actually prefer the Squier logo over the Fender aesthetically. Funny how people never get up in arms with the latter. WIll ever sell them? No, but if I do I will either sand them off or label them as Squiers. Anyone who is in doubt as to whether my insane partscaster is a real guitar will get easy confirmation from a simple google search. The market is already flooded with fender knockoffs and actual chinese counterfits that someone putting a decal on a fun home project is hardly doing any damage.

@@euro51116 There isn't a damned thing funny about it, hoss... Did you actually HEAR ANYTHING I said in the video, cause YOU and other people just like you are EXACTLY the problem... Look, my Squier Bullet Mustang is my go-to guitar, the one I'm playin in most of my videos, and I've customized every PART of it, but I didn't dig the "Bullet" Mustang decal myself, so I replaced it; BUT, I replaced it with a standard SQUIER Mustang decal, because SQUIER made that guitar... You're claiming that you do this scumbaggery and put fake "Fender" decals on your Squiers, AND you're claiming that you put Squier decals on your "Fenders"... Which goes to show that either you DON'T UNDERSTAND the underlying concept here; (You shouldn't put a company's decal on a guitar unless they MADE that guitar), OR you don't care... It SEEMS to me that you do GET it, but you're one of those guys with a wheelbarrow full of EXCUSES; You "wanted the swooshy look", "You'll never sell" your fake, counterfeit, "Fenders", and hey, "The market is flooded with Fender knockoffs, and Chinese counterfeits", so your "fun home projects" are okay... You're aware that you ACTUALLY said that, right, lol? YOU are the problem... People like you are out here, just doin whatever they WANT, even though it's WRONG, and then it's time for the wheel of excuses... And let me explain to you why it's"funny that people never get up in arms" about putting a Squier decal on a Fender guitar, and I'll try to make it simple enough that you can follow here; In general, Fender guitars usually cost more than Squier guitars, so, if you stick a Squier decal on a guitar made by Fender, it would make MOST untrained people think that that guitar is a Squier, and thereby worth less money than it actually is... You're STILL attempting to represent that guitar as something it's NOT, it's STILL counterfeiting because Squier DIDN'T make that guitar, and it's STILL morally WRONG, but at the VERY least, it would seem like you're not actively seeking to rip someone off... You can claim that "an easy Google search" can tell you the difference between a counterfeit guitar and a genuine Fender, BUT, WE ALL wouldn't have to try to verify EVERY SINGLE USED GUITAR that we buy, if counterfeiters like yourself weren't out there slappin fake "Fender" decals on Squiers and vice versa... You OBVIOUSLY know that what you're doin is wrong, cause you said you'd never sell your counterfeit guitars, and that if you did, you'd sand the fake "Fender" decals off... So, in my mind, there IS hope for you, hoss... You KNOW the right thing to do, so I'm gonna appeal to you, because I know that you're capable of doing the RIGHT THING... Some people REALLY don't know between wrong and right... You seem like you actually do have a moral compass, you're obviously intelligent enough to build your own guitars, and come up with excuses instead of just commenting "I do what I WANT" like a lot of these boneheads do... So, I'm beggin ya man; Don't be part of the problem... Use your intelligence for GOOD... Stop doin this crap, stand up for WHAT'S RIGHT, and join me... You're better than this, man...

@@ck2music712 To be clear, by Fender knockoffs I mean companies like Nash Guitars, Suhr, Vintage, Glarry, and every other company that uses 90% of Leo Fender's designs minus the decal and mayybe the headstock. Anyone selling a partscaster with a decal should (and usually does) label it as a partscaster and NEVER a genuine stock model, unless they are a scammer at which point they are likely doing a lot more to rip off the customer on a terrible guitar than just swapping the decal. Anyone in their right mind wanting a Fender SHOULD do their homework in 2024 on the guitar they are buying, for a variety of reasons besides just its authenticity. You are overblowing the morality aspect. It only comes into play when you sell it. Its your constitutional right do what you wish with your property, and yes that INCLUDES what you would consider "copyright infringement" on the basis you are not profiting off of it. Alot more goes into a guitar than just the decal, and plays into its quality and authenticity. Consider Ed Roman who would famously take the necks off of vintage Gibsons and create brand new bodies and electronics for them, only leaving the original decal and serial number because that was the only way prove its authenticity. THATS unethical, and alot more deceiving than changing the decal. A decal isnt the "end all be all" of a guitar.

I'm sorry brother but making this video doesn't put you on the moral high ground of guitarists. This is just a thinly veiled display of grandstanding. HAVING MORALS, sticking to them, calling out IMMORAL behavior, and NOT putting FAKE, counterfeit "Fender" decals on non-Fender guitars is what makes me a moral guitarist, lol... I didn't make this video to "put me on the moral high ground of guitarists", I made this video because I DO have morals, I DO know the difference in right and wrong, and I'm sick of this SCUMMY, dishonest, immoral behavior, so I felt convicted to do ANYTHING I possibly could to STOP IT... However, ANYBODY that sees this video, and stops to honestly even CONSIDER what I'm saying for a second, can NO LONGER claim "ignorance"... Also, if you want OTHER people to STAND UP and do the right thing, YOU have to be willing to stand up YOURSELF... THAT'S what this video is about, not "grandstanding" or "putting myself on the moral high ground of guitarists", and you can trust me, because I MADE the video, and I'm well aware WHY I made it, lol... And again, you ARE right that building a partscaster DOESN'T make you an immoral guitarist; But... Putting a FAKE, counterfeit "Fender" decal on the headstock of that guitar that WASN'T MADE by Fender, does, lol... See how that works, right? It's VERY telling that some people just CAN'T understand the VERY SIMPLE concept of; Be honest... DON'T put a decal of a company that DIDN'T MAKE THAT GUITAR on that guitar's headstock... THAT'S what ALL of this boils down to simply- And anybody that can't "understand" that SIMPLE idea, well, maybe it's not REALLY because they don't UNDERSTAND it, maybe they just don't want to admit that what they're doing is WRONG...

Hello Chris , thanks for your advices, I bought Squier S9 mik. I never been happier with a Stratocaster. The original fender tremolo on it is insane. I can play Jeff beck. Iron maiden. Mick mars motley crue 1994 album. The pickups look bit weird grim inside. Seem ceramic ? Don’t know, but they sound crazy good. Pinch harmonics is nearly like van halen.

@@strangenofx couldn't get a whole sentence out, huh? I'd say I'm more like the "decency" police, but, lol... Thanks for the comment, I guess...

Where's the TC Mojo Mojo? That's my main OD on my big board. Some nice fella from Tennessee sent one to me as a gift. Wait... That's you!!!! 😂

Brian does a great job on his dirt pedals. I think his $99 distortion is probably good too. I like that mini Nobels. I'm currently putting together an all mini board. I've got the Donner Blues Drive but it's a tube screamer clone. It doesn't sound like a broken up speaker to me. That Nobels does. Nice demo man. ✌️

Lol, yeah, that Donner "Blues Drive" got me too! The BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver is one of my FAVORITE circuits because it DOESN'T have that nasally mid boost like a TS, but there's a LOT of confusion; A Blues DRIVER circuit is different than a Blues BREAKER style circuit- Fortunately the ACTUAL BOSS BD-2 is only about $50 these days, but the TC Cinders is a BD, and so is Moore's Blues Crab... And ya know, Keeley's Super Phat Boost is a modded BD circuit, and the BEST S.P.M. clone that I've came across is the Bacchus Dynamic Driver by Gamma... It's DEAD on, lol...

Oh, and thank you! One last thing; As far as the Wampler $99 "Budget" pedals; The Triumph is my absolute favorite Overdrive OF ALL TIME, lol- It can literally sound like ANYTHING you want from a Tube Screamer to a Nobels to WHATEVER- However, I have to admit that I actually wasn't that impressed with the Phenom Distortion... Of course I got one, but it's not very dynamic, the gain doesn't have a very broad sweep, and the EQ is nowhere NEAR as powerful as the one on the Triumph... For actual Distortion I always recommend A; A CRANKED Blues Driver, or B; Some kind of DS-1 style circuit WITH AN EQ- Like the DigiTech HotHead, or the MXR Super BadAss Distortion- The ONLY thing that I'VE liked as much is that new Okko Diablo Clone which is currently in my top spot, lol...
