The second front was only opening after the pivitol moment at kursk and Stalingrad, the destruction of the siege in leningrad. There was no second front until America and the British realized if they dont go now, the soviet union will take Germany all for them self. And that was also the only reason why they opened a second front. The last reason they did this, is to kill Hitler and defeat Germany. It was only to not allow the udssr to take Germany as a whole. For the now western countries everything was going after plan, until it was clear that the soviet fury will take all land back including whole Germany. And to prevent that, they opened this second front which had no significant impact on the result that Germany was defeated. They just wanted to prevent that the udssr has the say on what is happening after the war. And yes America was the only country that benefited from the war like in all wars, the US is involved, directly or indirectly. The us gave the udssr some weapons because before they did the same with germany, they financed him and made him man of the year in 1938, so please be aware of what you are saying and read history. Without the us there would not be hitler and we would not suffer hundred millions of dead all around the world. The real hitler sits since over hundered years in the white house in Washington the faces change maybe but the hitler will be ever there in the white house. No Problem, but Germany had almost all it's troops on the eastfront, easily 3/4 of all it's soldiers. Also most german casualties were in the sovietunion. The soviets would have beaten Germany on their own. D-day accelerated germany's defeat, it did not cause it. The allies (except udssr) relied on airstikes, it took them 3-4 years after declaring war on germany to actually send troops after rescuing mostly french and british troops from dunquerke. The russians/ukrainians defeated the nazis and not the allies (uk,usa,Fr, etc)
