Always been a fan of Syncthing. Works fantastic for pretty much all my files across devices. I've even repurposed an old junk laptop basically pulled from the trash to act as a Syncthing server (works a bit better with my setup than everything linked to everything else). One fun thing I do with it is have my creative writing folder synced to a VM inside my PC at work to compartmentalize it from my work system but still have access to it when things are slow at the office. I also jokingly named this VM "Midway" as a Stargate Atlantis reference, so I had to make my laptop named "Daedalus" as a further reference. xD I even use it at work for a few clients to sync their desktops with their laptops while avoiding cloud storage and they love it. It's honestly one of my favorite FOSS tools. :)

Hey , when i tried installing it on arch as host machine and qemu and virt manager as vm i got 2 problems Problem 1: i got name resolution error and it dont let me make resolve.conf file to change dns server and without it shows resolve.conf not found to enit it . Problem 2 : sometime it dont connect to internet so when i change nic mode to mactavp and set device then also it dont connect to internet .

How to do a partial reinstall from an ISO without loosing the /home director?

Currently I have 18.04 LTS and I am very happy with it. I am thinking about upgrading to 20.04 LTS do to 18.04 LTS no longer being supported. My question is did you find 20.04 LTS to be slower? As well what about 22.04? I don't want to have a slower OS after upgrading and will keep using 18.04 LTS if this is the case. What else do you recommend for a Linux distro that is current (supported with updates) and as responsive as 18.04 LTS?

If I try to set Chrome as my default browser in Linux Mint, I get this message, "Google Chrome cannot determine or set the default browser". I can still open files in Chrome by right clicking and selecting "open with" Chrome. Otherwise, they open in Firefox.

The title is a bit casual

It would be nice to do a video about howto proceed after a power failure or a crash during the upgrade for example halfway. SOMETHING WENT WRONG CONTACT YOUR ADMINISTRATOR HOW TO PROCEED. It happend to me and I had no backup or saved my data. I started up with a new 20.04 dvd and could so get most of my data which I am copying to an external hard drive. My next step will be to find out how to proceed the upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04 and then to 22.04 LTS Ubuntu. But first save my data and if I do not succeed with the upgrade I do a totally new installation.

I didn’t know bin meant binary before this so I accidentally learned way more than I meant to. Cool 👍

I get this bottom of the screen, RED BOX [ERROR] See log at /tmp/Alacritty-145942.log ($ALACRITTY_LOG): Config error: shell: data did not match any variant of the untagged enum Program in my alacritty.toml file I have [shell] program = "/usr/bin/bash" Alacritty is driving me nuts with these config files, I had to also search the web for a .toml file. When you install they should include a basic alacritty.toml config file to get people started. Thanks if someone knows how to fix this, I appreciate.
