It’s a valid opinion to think that Anne was not a nice person. Why was this shut down? Everyone doesn’t have to feel the same way about her. Doesn’t mean she isn’t worth studying or isn’t an important figure.

Tib and Tibb originated in the 13th century as nicknames for Theobald (for boys) and Isabel and Isabella (for girls). As Isabel grew in popularity, Tib(b) was used more often on girls. By the 16th century, Tib was a term for a young girl, much like Tom was for young boys. A form of Elizabeth, Tib seems to have developed in Provence. A popular English name in the Middle Ages; pet forms included Ibb, Libbe, Nibb, Tibb, Bibby. (Source: google)

This was terrific, verified so much I thought about in her use of these words. I was wondering about the 'cousin' and why these two might refer to it as he/male... it was called MENstruation. Even though menses was referring to month, these two may have had their own inside joke. Maybe it's as simple as that notion. Lister loved her books filled with words; She was rather oversexed in my opinion and it made sense she delved deeply into sexual words to create her own sexual language/communication. She got off sexually, turned on, just reading some passages in books. It makes sense she had a dictionary of sexual terms, it fits with her desire to have coded journals. Lister was always on a learning curve sexually in her younger years, for herself and her numerous partners. She wanted to master all skills in bed.

Where did Yorkshire Archives obtain the Russian documents of Lister's, permission etc on allowed to hire horses, etc dated October 1839 per Lister's calendar? Did Walker bring them back, and were they discovered with Lister's journals or did they obtain copies from somewhere else? Curious about their path. Thank you for an interesting presentation. Interesting about the Russian calendar at that time.
