Drum For The Song - Dane Campbell
United Kingdom
Приєднався 11 чер 2020
Hi, I'm Dane Campbell and I play drums in Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons & Straight Lines. Thanks for visiting the UA-cam channel for Drum For The Song Podcast.
I've spent countless hours listening to podcasts so I decided to attempt making my own where I chat to some great drummers about their lives, music and of course - drums. This has been an idea of mine for a while but I decided to finally go for it during the Coronavirus pandemic whilst the music industry was on hold, my busy Summer of festivals were cancelled and touring was in doubt for the remainder of the year.
If you've enjoyed my content I would greatly appreciate any support you may wish to give which will help by contributing towards better equipment and transport costs that will all help me continue to create these podcasts in the future.
If you enjoy the free podcast you can still choose to support me via my Patreon page for exclusive content like bonus episodes - www.patreon.com/drumforthesong.

Interesting 👍
I miss Chris so much, I still don’t know who was telling the truth but still. Love you Chris we all miss you.
No chriss
Chris Fehn!!! #3 Pickle Nose/ Liar was always my Favorite Mask in Slipknot I bought the Mask and was #3 every year for Halloween until the mask completely fell apart 🤘💀🤘
Ele,faz falta meus amigos do Slipknot 🤘
Love ya chris!! His and Paul had my most favorite masks Cory has hit or miss ones with me 😂😂😂
I already hated Clown but after this whole thing i despise him even further
Vegan XVX, of 7 years from India and I feel great, and have a clear conscience. We're separated by geographic location, but united by compassion. 🌱🐮 One love.
🫶
Bloody hell, one of the first singles I bought was Stray Cat Strut when I was ten or eleven but Jim looks at least twenty years younger than me!
He sure looks great!
Chris tinha um vocal extremo de bão
...at 32.50 the band they are talking about is - Hyro The Hero
Chris you've always been my favorite don't worry about everybody else says just pretend it's pudding
Chris was getting too much attention and they couldn’t handle it…..
I remember traveling from Argentina to Brazil in 2015 to see Slipknot at Rock In Rio. I think it was the day before the show when I went to the hotel to meet the band, and Chris was one of the few who showed up. Such a great guy. So humble. So thankful. Nice interview. Great to see he's doing well.
That sounds like a great experience! Thanks for taking the time to listen to the interview.
After Paul died the band like lost their soul. Chris fehn also had the best mask.
Without trying to be negative to particular people, it almost seems like CT and Clown told Tortilla Man to basically copy the stage presence and mannerisms of Chris, but it just doesn’t have the same effect. Chris was a whole different energy
I mean, he spoke out about some guys in the band being a bunch of bullies to him decades ago. Now that they are dropping memebers left, right and center there seems to be a pattern and there is a common denominator. Slipknot is not and probably was never the brotherhood they always sold themselves as..
What a humble, beautiful individual. Chris had the biggest effect on me next to Joey when I discovered Slipknot back in '99 when I was 12. His presence, sense of humor, and ultimately his humility and sheer realness in interviews quickly made him my favorite member. I chose to be a drummer because of these two boys. Thank you Chris Fehn for doing this interview. I missed you! Looking forward to checking out your new musical ventures. Rest easy Joey & Paul.
I respect Chris so much. When people trashed Tortilla man on Chris' instagram, he told people "Don't hate" and stood up for him. Such a classy thing to do.
Stay classy, Chris! 👍
Sounds like he got booted for being a baby. Sounds like he was the problem.
I miss your screams Chris!! I hate the new guy that replaced you.
Absolutely the least user friendly website of any drum brand. Impossible to find info like finishes, components, etc. I spent well over 2 hours trying to figure it out and just gave up. If Sonor doesn't care enough to build a usable website, how can we trust how they make their drums. Yamaha, Tama, Pearl, DW, Gretch, Ludwig, Maple websites all take about a minute to understand how to use, a 3rd grader could do it. Finishes, component sizes, shell construction are all there and easy to access.
Sorry to hear you feel that way. Fortunately, they make fantastic drums.
@@DrumForTheSongPodcast So they say.
The song "The Nameless" is a good example for percussion ;)
Chris was certainly big energy . After hearing his interview it was really obvious that he himself didn't feel like he had a lot to offer to the band. Its a curious thought that when you watch the band and think of 9 guys trying to formulate this artwork with each giving equal input and having equal opportunity , someone is always going to give less and have less. I think Chris having a humble approach to being in the band was refreshing but also important because the other members have to of felt energy all along. He can say he did or did not enjoy the the ins and outs of the band but I think deep down he just wanted it to be easy and friendly , 9 guys is 9 guys at the end of the day, Chris just didn't have a lot to bring to the table after a while. So glad its over for him because he was on an incredible ride and now he's happy with the result and he's just living his life now.
I KNOW why they didn't make it. It was the lame half heart Ted Nugent type solos. Some of the songs were on mark, but too many were just goofy. Example, stupid song called Mad Dog. They should have just zeroed in on just being as heavy as possible. Great band name, looked great, they were great live. But if you listen carefully, they were not as tight as they should have been. The drums got too messy at times.
Best Chris Fehn content I've ever seen
Thanks for watching. I'm honoured that Chris gave me his time.
I was 11 when I discovered Slipknot Iowa in 2001 and have loved them since, and love them now 23 years and 5 horrible albums later. I believe the 8th album (and first being out from under roadrunner) will be a change of pace that goes back to self titled and Iowa roots. Dare to be different you trendy knot haters you and choose to ask why not and choose to hope for the best.
Chris is cool corey is a prick just saying😊
I saw slipknot with motor head, slayer and anthrax in 2012.... such a crazy show.
slipknot changed
I’ll never really accept tortilla man tbh.
It's a shame his back up vocals where the best out of him a taco 🌮 man
Tortilla man will never compare to what Chris brought the backing vocals are a joke and stage presence are unmatched
Jamming with friends is the ultimate thrill as a musician. I am an intermediately skilled drummer and i remember even playing the first few jams with my buddies, how much fun it was to just play whatever came to mind. By ourselves we would play the same stuff over and over, but together we varied eachothers playing and had a blast. That continues to this day and i cherish those sessions.
It comes from jazz Sam woodyard
I absolutely love 😊 Bob Richards ❤❤❤❤.I think the band should have kept him, he's so sexy❤❤❤❤❤❤❤and hot🔥🔥🔥🔥 Love youBob hugs and kisses from. Holly😘😘😘😘🥰🥰
“All the money in the world cant buy me” Said corey taylor many many years ago
When Paul passed and Joey got booted , that's when that band was dead. Chris was a big part of that group too, definitely in the live setting especially.
Chris is a good dude. I wish him the best
love chris fehn
Blast Beat was invented by Mr. Clive Burr of Iron Maiden. Hear Genghis Khan live from 1981
the fact that during the entire interview Chris only mentioned Joey out of all of Slipknot makes me think about a lot of things.
Hahaha love Robb \m/ and his unpretentious attitude. True one of a kind talent right there
I was able to see 3 shows from Jeff Beck's last tour in 2022. I've seen Jeff in concert betweem 20 and 25 times. When he would be in New York or New Jersey or Pennsylvania I would see 3 shows. Jeff always has great drummers who push him to greater heights and in return push his drummer. There was never that interaction the last tour. It was difficult at times because you could see Jeff and Rhonda look at each other aggravated because the drumming was not what they're accustomed to. When you are used to Vinnie Caliuta playing trying to substitute for him can be tragic.
There is no way Jeff would have hired her if he wasnt happy with her playing. He reached out to her.Jeff is my favorite guitar player.I don't think he was expecting her to sound like Vinnie,or Narada.I think he wanted her because she has a unique outside of the box approach.Nobody is ever going to rival Vinnie.
