Both, I would say. For these vids there are a couple rules but they're more lax. (This reply is kinda long but it's just I'm glad someone asked this haha) No Tranq Abuse: It's too easy. I think getting up close and personal with CQC or using the tranqs more creatively by luring or having guards turn is more intuitive and entertaining to watch as you can easily get caught. NO HUD: Marking Enemies is too easy as you know where everyone is This ruleset together I basically call "Ground Zeroes". You deploy with one Assault Rifle and a Pistol and you are allowed one support weapon on deployment e.g. C4/Grenade. Exceptions can be made for a high grade Sniper if you have to take down a Helicopter if there's not really anything around to fight it with. I've also been doing some Improvised "OSP". You have to deploy with something if you're playing on console or without mods so I make it the Grade 1 Pistol and a Sawn-off but I don't use them. Only caveat is that I do use D-Horse and the Cardboard Box to travel just to save time but that's all. Speaking of that, the "OSP" one should be my next MGS video or the one after for sure.

Oh those Plague Tale games can be a pain in the neck sometimes, that game had some weird difficulty spikes. I remember the first one had that horrible section with the Wagon near the end of the game and the final boss fight as being the worst haha. I'm not *that* good haha there are people *wayyyy* better than me at this but I just try to be a little creative with it. My next MGSV video, which will be out within the hour, actually shows some full detections around the halfway point of the video and how I dealt with them. Some really close calls, think I was an inch away from dying at one point.

I'm preparing for it be locked to 30, especially on Fidelity Mode. If there's a performance mode it'll likely be 'target' 60fps as well. I feel like my PS5 was a waste of money haha, I'm getting a Gaming Laptop because all I play is 10 year or older games on the PS5 anyway... I'm as well as looking into modding them at this point

MGSV: The Phantom Pain

That's the unmodded MGSV experience in general when you've been playing it for like 9 years haha

Wish there was more structures like the Luftwa Valley Mansion, OKB Zero, Mfinda Oilfield and Afghanistan Base Camp to infiltrate in the game. Those ones at least felt like what was teased in Ground Zeroes. Most bases/outposts are too easy to infiltrate even with little to no equipment and the ones that aren't is usually because there might be Snipers or something. There's all these Enemy Vehicles and Air Support yet they never appear in basic free roam unless it is a side-op and most missions don't have any vehicles in it at all. Idk, it's not very Metal Gear and you have to impose a ton of restrictions to make the game challenging whereas Ground Zeroes had at least some sort of Difficulty option baked into the 6 or so missions it did have.

That actually happened a few times, they would see me straight on from kinda far away but as I repositioned just off centre they wouldn't see me. If that is a real mechanic in the game as you say, that's fucking sick actually...

I understand why they didn't implement it for the player, but it is funny how a guy with one eye seeing through the same NVGs can see fully and aim a gun just fine, but when the goons wear them they've got extreme tunnel vision

It is man. The VR capabilities you a great amount of freedom you don't really have in the original mode, it's hard to go back

That's great to hear my video made you want to do that. Yeah MGS lore is pretty out there and a lot of it is just fluff sometimes that doesn't really make sense, I think the characters are the selling point more specifically as opposed to the story. MGS5 is great for pure gameplay, you can sink hours into it for sure

I'd rather not kill to be completely honest but the game keeps throwing poor-skilled guards my way and during certain side-ops you have to kill them or fulton them and I hate having half my waiting room being filled with A ranks when I'm needing S+'s at the least these days. You can't get anything above S (in any decent amount) in any offline modes. The game then has the gall to punish you for killing guys that are of zero value by giving you Demon points as well 😒

I prefer not to kill now unless I specifically have to. Just so I don't have to face that trauma again. (It doesn't matter I use white mamba to farm vehicles anyways) Just a little tip. Bring along d dog for Fulton. You can fulton as many people as you want without it costing you a whole damn lot. Br warned his ai is a bit shit so you have to stand next to the person you want to take and press "wait" so he doesn't fulton the wrong guy.

@@Siasmatic Pretty sure the amount of high rank staff you get in the offline modes is dependent on your heroism. Sooo, maybe raise that a bit and you'll have an easier time of it. Like, I'm currently a bit below 300k heroism and I'm also getting few S-ranks, but I did notice that every time the heroism circle gets filled, the better the offline soldiers stats get.

​@@megahellreaper Oh no I mean the S+ or S++ Ranks, you can't get them in anything to do with offline apart from the ones the game gives you in a fresh playthrough. You can only get them from FOB, FOB event points and PF Points in the Short/Weekly League thing. My heroism is over a million, I always get S Rank volunteers but I've nowhere to put them. My lowest ranked guys in all units but two of them are S Ranks, it's the Elite of the Elite I need but I've been playing the game on and off for years and it genuinely takes forever. That's why I'm going to get a PC, buy this game again and just mod the game to skip all this stuff. It's far too grindy for my liking lol

It really did lmao. The first couple of clips you could maybe debate some weird game engine glitches but the later ones show the issue at its worst, it's been a thing since UFC 3 as well but I've never seen it as bad as it has been since the last two patches or so.

I've been doing this in Phantom Pain recently too haha Interestingly though, the guards in Ground Zeroes eventually seem to realise they're 'taking fire' but from what I've seen in Phantom Pain the guards will *never* react then try and take cover if you shoot too many tranq's near them. This strat works a treat in TPP as a result but you have to be more methodical with them if playing GZ

Considering getting a PC just to mod this game: -Play as real Big Boss with TMWSTW mod -Infinite Heaven -Development Time Skip -All Guards are S++ to skip the late game extreme grind It's so tempting

Im gonna get it on my steam deck and see if I can mod it someday

Only reason I don't have a PC right now is I don't have the space for it but I think this console generation has been a bit woeful, I'm still playing games made 10 years ago but on the current system so the games run a bit better but that's it. I'm as well as getting the PC to mod them as well at this point.

I love that they done that. Was hoping that they would have done this for MGS Delta as well, having American KGB takes you off the setting a bit... well, the ones that aren't supposed to be double or triple agents anyway

The game even uses this to hint at upcoming story! The bionics expert you rescue at the start of the game confirms that Sahalanthropus is both real and unable to move on it's own. But you'd only know this if you yourself understood Russian! The interpreter you get doesn't translate him into English.

And when they have an accent it's a central asian one which is vene explained in the game
