It's super fun to play on the beta right now. I think it's going to be one of the most fun specs to play going into The War Within

The fact they never changed bloody claws blows my mind and yeah, mongoose bite is real weak right now on the beta. I don't think they've adjusted all the numbers yet though

@NimzeWoW true they havent adjusted numbers. But we also cant be sure they will, so its best to point out potential problems instead of just hoping they notice.

I had the talents I was running in this dungeon pop up very briefly at the start of the video. If you pause it and have a look, that'd be the best way to see since I can't link a photo. I was running quick shot but there was a bug so it didn't proc very often, at all really. With that bug sulfur - lined pocket would proc maybe one time during an entire dungeon. I'm hoping that's all fixed for the next round of mythic plus testing because it would be good to see how that talent actually plays out

dps numbers are bound to change with it being beta, but if arms warrior isn't cutting it for you then hop aboard the survival hunter train because this spec is looking real fun!

The weak aura in the middle of the screen in the video is one I made while on the beta. The rest of my UI is just the ElvUI addon and details for the damage/healing meter

😄😄😄 It's way to early to tell where anything will be dps wise but no matter what, I think the specs gonna be super fun to play. And yeah the spec is really tanky now, or at least it feels that way. Not sure how much added defensives other specs in the game received going into the war within but survival really did get a lot

Now i am curious what will be top? because all gameplay ive seen, be it paladin, mage or lock, SV Hunter always was on top of the meter. In Beta, everyone is one the same gear level, so skill matters and SV hunters are burning every other class in their path. It is legit just "Watch your CDs and youll always be the best" system behind the overall SV gameplay. Maybe WW could be the same or better, but nothing is balanced yet really. WW and SV are really number dependend----

There was a new beta build pushed while I was asleep but it fixes a lot of the issues. But not the "coordinated assault is an incredibly boring and non impactful CD" issue. People do like fury of the eagle and its in an odd spot where you don't really have enough time to use it in a fight so it would be nice to see it get some attention. Flanking strike is more interesting now with this latest change (it now costs focus and grants 2 tip of the spear stacks) but I totally agree tbh. I've never liked kill command, it feels so meh to press and flanking strike back in legion... Oh that was fun, it cost a load of focus and had a nice sound effect attached and just felt really good to press

The latest change they made is huge for that. No need to plan 20 seconds ahead to get value since you can just hold onto the free explosive shot charges now 🙌

If you use curseforge: go to the WA page and there should be a tab called 'versions'. download the latest alpha version at the top of the list and it should work on the beta. Same goes for any other addons if the creator has them up to date for the beta

I will aim to make one for when Season 1 in TWW starts. Things often change a lot up until the first week of the season and I want to make sure I don't say information that ends up changing. But yes! I will make a guide video for TWW 😀

They really did take the focus issue (we had too much focus and not enough ways to spend it) as "let's add a focus cost onto every single ability". It's a lot better though, felt weird not managing focus. I've only hit a training dummy for a little while on the beta and it's felt okay. We still have a lot of kill command resets happening and I didn't get into a situation where I was focus starved. That's only from a tiny bit of testing though. I do think adding focus onto bombs was maybe unnecessary

Yep.. he got kicked off the blizzard store mount team department for bad behavior and has to spend a few weeks working on survival hunter. Good for us though, the spec is looking kick ass!

They actually made changes already! A new build hit the beta while I was asleep. Flanking strike now costs focus, generates 2 stacks of tip of the spear and can cleave onto 3 targets. It's a lot more interesting and feels less out of place

Bugs are expected in beta so testers can find them and then they can all get cleaned up before the expansion goes live. However yeah... the fact pack leader hasn't worked since it was put in the alpha/beta feels really bad since the hero talents are one of the new big features and when you can't even try it out... it's not good. Blizzard is also very skilled when it comes to leaving as many bugs in the game as possible for when an expansion releases and id be surprised if that doesn't happen again

I missed your comments man! Yeah I know, I majorly suck at uploading but with Dragonflight ending and how I haven't really played season 4, I didn't really have anything to upload. But its awesome to see you are still around! The spec actually got some changes a few hours ago where it seems to fix a lot of the issues. Still unsure how much it fixes the bloat issue but it seems to be a lot less intrusive now

@@NimzeWoW haha at least for now we're doing good on dps... with blizz's track record fun will be detected in season 2 so until then we can dominate a bit 😁I have not touched my hunter in s4 at all.. feelsbadman with everything broken I did not want to taint the good memories I had of the previous season. I really wished they'd give survival a really rexxar spec aka dual wield, throwing skills for the axes with ability to pull the axes back to you. medium range (20yard) damage with melee skills and bomb/trap fillers and temp pets

@@Airbag888 That's the description of legion survival when the spec had an actual throwing axe ability and rotational traps. Also still had bombs with dragonfire bomb it just was a much smaller part of the spec. Now it's all bomberman mode which I find sad because I do like the fantasy the spec used to have going for it.

@@NimzeWoW Actually i'm thinking multi-specing, wanted to play hunter for a long time, the huge defensives buff really did it for me this time. Dunno, probably MM/BM first due to easier weapon loot.

Personally im most looking forward to the mongoose bite cleave build. Dont get me wrong, i also wanna chuck bombs, but we get to do that anyway. Even in st. But, if tuned correctly, the mb cleave ss spread build will allow for a bit of variety in our aoe builds. And even in thar build bombs will be 80% of what we do. Just not 100%

I think its way better. This is the first draft of the new survival hunter talent tree so I expect most of the bugs to get fixed and changes made where needed. Obviously blizzards track record for fixing this sort of stuff is not great (actually terrible with survival hunter specifically) but even if the fixes are minimal I think its leagues better than it was in Dragonflight. I'm very hopeful but we'll see what happens

I think it's just the normal wow one. I haven't changed anything with the damage numbers on the beta client, if they look different it might be tied to the elvui addon maybe. Not entirely sure

Thank you :D On live I use an addon called tellmewhen. On the beta tellmewhen hadn't updated so I remade it with weakauras but that's with new talents and everything. It won't work 1 to 1 with survival on the live wow client. I know most people use weakauras so I'll make it a priority to switch my ui over to weakauras properly and then I'll upload it on the wago website for anyone that might want it. That won't be until when The War Within comes out though. Really glad to hear the videos have helped you though! 😄

And spells like coordinated assault are consuming a stack which doesn't seem right, so it's hard to tell what abilities will end up working with it

Just wait for the retcon lore they give Rexxar to stop hunters from complaining that survival gets further and further away from it's original themes. He's going to have a pet owl, no more duel wielding axes. He's going to have a spear with explosive fireworks taped to the tip, belts lined with bombs across his chest and his eyes glow up blue to show he has sentinel powers.

I think they have tried to do that with explosive shot with this new talent tree. There's also fury of the eagle which is basically a copy pasted fists of fury from monks (at least visually). With the bomberman direction blizzard seems to be taking the spec, I can imagine if they went to give the spec a big cool button to press it'd be a bigger bomb! 💣

They could Add something Like stampede but that feels too BM , Bombs + traps feel great for the theme but not for that 'Melee hunter' And copying from other classes always feels lazy. If they simplified the spec but made some of the abilities have impact / Gave that bit button which fits theme. i'm sure it'll be a very flavoursome Spec Either way, Survival Melee hunter specs haven't been the worst feeling specs (Feral and Spriests have had that titles many times)

I totally get what you mean. It's sort of like (and here's a minecraft reference) in minecraft where you can play creative mode and have everything, sure it can be fun for a few minutes but it doesn't feel rewarding like survival mode does. I really hope they reduce a lot of this problem because this is on a character with a fixed ilvl equivalent to un-upgraded lfr gear, with pretty low haste. If you have higher haste this issue gets even more out of hand. So if it stayed the same, in the last patch of the expansion you will be machine gunning out bombs
